Some of the finest freshwater fishing in California can be found in Big Bear Lake. There is an abundance of trout, bass, catfish and blue gill to be caught. Big Bear Lake is also well known as a good trolling lake. You will need to have a fishing license, which can be purchased at sporting goods stores and marinas. You can rent a variety of boats, from pontoon, fishing, sail and speed boats to canoes, kayaks and paddle boats or take a lake tour and enjoy a day in the sun at any one of the many marinas that surround Big Bear Lake’s 22 miles of shoreline. Permits are required for private boats and can be purchased at any marina.
