CATS Presents My Fair Lady – Music and script adapted from George Bernard Shaw’s play and Gabrial Pascal’s motion picture, Pygmalion.
Fall Fest – Celebrate Labor Day Weekend with family fun at Fall Fest, an annual rite of passage that celebrates the end of summer and the beginning of fall with live entertainment, games, artisans and vendors.
Snow Summit and Bear Mountain open for the season – Skiers, snowboarders and spectators enjoy Big Bear Mountain Resorts.
Fireworks Spectacular – See one of California’s top ranked pyrotechnic displays reflected on the lake.
Endure the Bear Trail Run – Starts in the Village and heads into the pristine National Forest trails on the south shore of Big Bear Lake. 30K and 15K as well as a 5K Family Fun Run & Walk.
Big Bear Paddlefest – Two days of clinics, races and paddling expo. Big Bear Chili Cook-Off – Great chili, live western music, children’s events and activities, fine western artists and street dancing! Over 100 booths! Big Bear Twilight Mountain Music Festival – An annual fundraiser for the Discovery Center/ SBNFA, featuring a variety of music including Americana, folk, country and bluegrass music.
AUGUST 2nd Annual Blues for the Zoo Concert – A special music event to help support Moonridge Animal Park’s sanctuary, rehabilitation and education programs. Big Bear Antique Car Club’s Fun Run – 500 street rods, classics, antiques and special interest vehicles line Village streets for the Show and Shine followed by the late afternoon Cruise Around the Lake. Renaissance Faire – Meet the Queen and her Court, jesters and jousters, enjoy a Renaissance-style feast, learn the ways of old, even purchase a trinket or two. Big Bear Cowboy Gathering & Storyfest – Cowboy music, poetry and storytelling, Wild West reenactments, blacksmith demonstrations, Western and Native American arts & crafts and a cowboy chuck wagon food court. Art on the Lake – Fine arts festival of 50 Southern California artists exhibiting and selling their works along Big Bear Lake.
Big Bear Lake International Film Festival – Independent featurelength films, student films, short documentaries, family films, animation and digital films. Autumn Wine Walk – Guests stroll from merchant to merchant, tasting selected wines. Hors d’oeuvres are served in most locations and the evening is all about mingling with old friends and meeting new ones.
OCTOBER Oktoberfest – Eins, zwei, drei, gí suffa! Take a break from your responsibilities, lower your inhibitions and surrender to the spirit of the annual Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest. 3rd Annual Big Bear Horror Filmfest – View a variety of independent short and featurelength movies, from bone-chilling suspense to the gory and grotesque. Attend seminars and receptions during the weekend-long festival.
CATS presents A Christmas Carol – This production of A Christmas Carol is back by popular demand, which is a CATS adaptation from the popular Dickens’ classic. Santa’s Grand Entrance and Tree Lighting Ceremony – Join Santa and Mrs. Claus for an evening of caroling, the tree lighting ceremony and entertainment for an old-fashioned Christmas. Mountain Christmas Boutique – A unique high country shopping experience with a holiday flair and sixty plus handmade vendors from throughout the western United States. You’re sure to find the perfect gift for your list.
DECEMBER Christmas in the Village – An oldfashioned Christmas gathering with strolling musicians, Victorian-style carolers, children’s choirs, Christmas tree lighting ceremony and of course, Santa Claus. New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade – Head to Snow Summit for the spectacular sight of skiers and snowboarders gliding down the mountain in a steady stream of torchlights.
