HOOKS AND EXTRAS
For Rompers - 3 months use 3.00mm hook; 6 months use 3.50mm hook; 9 months use 4.00mm hook; 12 months use 4.50mm hook, or size that gives correct tension.
4 stitch markers; 4 buttons. For Cardigan - A 4.50mm hook, or size that gives correct tension.
TENSIONS
For Rompers - 3.00mm hook = 21tr x 8 rows to 10 cm x 10 cm.
3.50mm hook = 19tr x 8 rows to 10 cm x 10 cm.
4.00mm hook = 17tr x 8 rows to 10 cm x 10 cm.
4.50mm hook = 15tr x 8 rows to 10 cm x 10 cm.
For Cardigan - 15tr x 8 rows to 10 cm x 10 cm.
SPECIAL ABBREVIATION
Scallop - into indicated st, tr3, ch3, tr3.
ROMPERS (worked from waist down)
Using 3.50mm hook, ch100, sl st to 1st ch made, being careful not to twist your work. Note - ch1/2 at beginning of round DOES NOT count as a stitch.
1st round (WS) - ch2, tr into each ch around, sl st to 1st tr made, ch2, turn = 100 sts.
2nd and 3rd rounds - tr into each st around, sl st to 1st tr made, ch2, turn = 100 sts.
4th round - * tr1 into next 9 sts, tr2 into next st, rep from * 9 times, sl st to 1st tr made, ch2, turn = 110 sts.
5th round - into the front loops only htr in each st around, sl st to 1st htr made, ch2, turn = 110 sts, (these loops created will be used to crochet scallops).
6th round - As 2nd round = 110 sts.
7th to 14th rounds - Rep 5th and 6th rounds (5 rounds of loops).
15th to 23rd rounds - Rep 2nd round, do not fasten off = 110 sts.
Divide For Legs -
1st round - tr1 into next 55 sts, sl st to 1st tr made, ch2, turn = 55 sts.
2nd and 3rd rounds - tr1 into each st around, sl st to 1st tr made, ch2, turn = 55 sts.
4th round - * tr1 into next 7 sts, tr2tog, rep from *
4 times, tr1 into next 10 sts, sl st to 1st tr made, ch2, turn = 50 sts.
5th round - * tr1 into next 8 sts, tr2tog, rep from *
5 times, sl st to 1st tr made, ch1, turn = 45 sts.
6th and 7th rounds (WS) - dc1 into each st around, sl st to 1st dc made, ch1, DO NOT turn, on last round omit ch1, fasten off.
Leaving a 20cm tail complete 2nd leg to correspond, there will be a small hole at the crotch which will be stitched closed using tail.
Front Bib
With RS of front facing and romper flat, place marker
5 sts in from left and right side, you will need 39 sts between the markers, adjust evenly until you achieve this.
1st row (RS) - Into the st where the marker is placed, ch1, tr2tog, tr37, tr2tog, ch1, turn = 39 sts.
2nd row - tr2tog, tr35, tr2tog, ch1, turn = 37 sts.
3rd row - tr2tog, tr33, tr2tog, ch1, turn = 35 sts.
4th to 6th rows - tr35, ch1, turn = 35 sts.
7th row - tr3, ch1, skip 1, tr27, ch1, skip 1, tr3, ch1, turn = 35 sts (2 buttonholes made).
8th row - tr35, ch1, turn = 35 sts.
9th row - htr35, ch1, turn = 35 sts.
10th row - htr3, ch1, skip 1, htr27, ch1, skip 1, htr3 ch1, turn = 35 sts (2 buttonholes made).
11th row - htr35. Fasten off.
Back Bib
With back facing and romper flat and RS out, place marker 9 sts in from left and right markers, you will
need 41 sts between the markers, adjust evenly until you achieve this.
1st row (RS) - Into the st where the marker is placed, ch1, tr2tog, tr37, tr2tog, ch1, turn = 39 sts.
2nd row - tr2tog, tr35, tr2tog, ch1, turn = 37 sts.
3rd row - tr2tog, tr33, tr2tog, ch1, turn = 35 sts.
4th to 8th rows - tr35, ch1, turn = 35 sts.
9th to 11th rows - htr35, ch1, turn, at the end of 11th row, DO NOT ch1 DO NOT fasten off = 35 sts.
1st Strap - 1st row - htr7, turn = 7 sts.
Rep 1st row until you have a total of 22 rows. Fasten off. 2nd Strap - Join yarn to other side and htr7, turn = 7 sts. Rep 1st row until you have a total of 22 rows. DO NOT fasten off.
Edging - dc evenly all around both bibs, sides and straps, working dc3 into corners of each strap.
Scallops
With RS of back facing and romper legs uppermost, crochet through the loops created by htr back loop only in rows 5,7,9,11 and 13.
Beg with row 13 or uppermost row nearest legs, join yarn at back join.
Scallop row - ch1, dc1, skip 2, scallop, skip 3, * dc1, skip 2, scallop, skip 2, rep from * 16 times, dc1, skip 3, scallop, skip 2, join with sl st to 1st dc made. Rep scallop row on rem loop rows, alternating beginning point to stagger scallops positioning, work row 11, then 9, then 7, then 5.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Darn in all ends. Sew on buttons.
CARDIGAN

Using 4.50mm hook, ch60, loosely.

NECK EDGING
With RS facing, join yarn to right corner edge. 1st round - dc in each st around, ch1, turn. Rep 1st round twice more. Fasten off.
SCALLOP EDGES
With RS facing, join yarn to top of left neck edge. 1st row - ch1, dc3, * skip 1 row, scallop, skip 1 row, dc, rep from * evenly down left edge, to work corner, work scallop, then in next st on lower edge, scallop, ** skip 2 sts, dc, skip 2 sts scallop, rep from ** to next corner, to work corner, scallop and in next st on front edge, scallop, rep from * evenly up right edge to last 3 sts, dc3. Fasten off.
