NEEDLESAND EXTRAS

1 pair 4.50mm Knitting Needles, or size that gives correct tension.Ayarn needle; 3 small buttons.

TENSION

19 sts and 36 rows to 10 cm over garter st, using 4.50mm needles.

SPECIALABBREVIATION

Bobble – (K1, P1, K1) all in next st, turn, K3, turn, K3, slip 2nd and 3rd sts over first, thus completing bobble.

BACKAND SLEEVES

Beg Back - Using 4.50mm needles, cast on 45 (49-53-55) sts.

Knit 47 (55-57-65) rows garter st (1st row is WS).

Beg Sleeves – Cast on 24 (30-34-36) sts at beg of next 2 rows = 93 (109-121-127) sts.

Knit 38 (42-44-44) rows garter st. Cast off all sts knitways.

LEFT FRONTAND SLEEVE

Beg Left Front - Using 4.50mm needles, cast on 43 (47-51-53) sts.

Knit 17 rows garter st (1st row is WS).

Beg front slope shaping – Next row (RS) – Knit to last 5 sts, K2tog, K3.

Cont dec one st (as before) at end (front edge) of every foll 4th row until 36 (37-41-41) sts rem, sizes 3, 9 and 12 months only – then in every foll alt row until 34 (40-40) sts rem.

Beg Sleeve – Next row – Cast on 24 (30-34-36) sts, knit to last 5 sts, K2tog, K3 = 57 (66-73-75) sts.

Next row – Knit to last 5 sts, K2tog, K3. Cont dec one st (as before) at end (front edge) of every foll alt row until 38 (45-51-53) sts rem.

Cast off rem sts.

RIGHT FRONTAND SLEEVE

Beg Right Front - Using 4.50mm needles, cast on 41 (45-49-51) sts.

Knit 3 rows garter st (1st row is WS).

Beg patt – 1st row (RS) – Knit.

2nd row – Purl to last 3 sts, K3.

3rd row – K3, * K5, Bobble, rep from * to last 2 (6-4-6) sts, K2 (6-4-6).

4th row –As 2nd row

5th row – Knit.

6th row –As 2nd row

7th row – K3, * K2, Bobble, K3, rep from * to last 2 (0-4-0) sts, K2 (0-4-0).

8th row –As 2nd row

Rows 1 to 8 incl form patt.

Work a further 2 rows patt.

Beg front slope shaping – Keeping patt correct, Next row (RS) – K3, K2tog, patt to end.

Cont dec one st (as before) at beg (front edge) of every foll alt row until 30 (32-34-34) sts rem.

Beg Sleeve – Next row – Cast on 22 (28-32-34) sts, purl to last 3 sts, K3 = 52 (60-66-68) sts.

Cont in patt across all sts, dec one st (as before) at front edge in next row, then in every foll alt row until 42 (49-53-55) sts rem.

Work 1 row.

Next row – K3, K3tog, patt to end.

Cont dec 2 sts (as before) at front edge in every foll alt row until 36 (43-49-51) sts rem. Work 1 row. Cast off all sts knitways.

FINISHING

DO NOTPRESS.

Buttonloops (make 3) – Using 4.50mm needles, cast on 7 sts. Cast off knitways. Join top of sleeve and shoulder seams. Join side and sleeve seams, catching 2 buttonloops to left front side seam (so that buttonloops are facing to the outside – RS of work), placing first buttonloop approx 2.5 cm from lower edge and other buttonloop approx 2.5cm from first buttonloop.

Sew remaining buttonloop to inside seam of right front approx 2.5cm from lower edge. Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonloops.
