CHRISTMAS GIFT BAG FINISHED SIZE approx. 9¾” x 14” MATERIALS: •

CUTTING Cut three 3 ¾“ squares from Woodland Wonderland fabric.

ASSEMBLY Sew 3¾” squares with short strips for the front panel. Press seams. Stitch 3¾ x 15¾” side panel to one side and 13 x 15¾” side panel to the other side. Press seams. Take 21 x 15¾” piece of lining fabric. With right sides together, place top edges of lining and bag’s piece together and stitch along the top edge. Press seam open. Cut Bosal Light Fusible Batting and fuse it to the bag’s front. Fold lining over batting and quilt bag panel as desired. SIDE SEAM Take 2” binding strip. Press it in half lengthwise. Fold bag with right side facing. Pin binding along the side seam and sew all layers together. Press binding over to cover side seam. Top stitch along the edge of the binding.

Cut following pieces from Christmas Cottage fabric: • two 3¾ x 1½” strips for the front panel • two 3¾ x 2½” strips for the front panel • one 3¾ x 15¾” strip for the side panel • one 13½ x 15¾” strip for the side panel • one 20 x 15¾” strip for the lining • two 15 x 2½” strips for the handles • one 2” x WOF strip for side binding

The fabric requirements is for making bag as shown in the photograph. Before cutting review the placement of colours in case you want to make you own choices.

Bosal Light Fusible Batting - B27140

Cut 1 ½” squares from the side seams. Sew bottom of the bag together using binding in the same manner to cover the seams.

To make the bottom corners, flatten one side of the bag against the bottom with the seams lined up. Pin and sew across the corner seam together with the binding. Fold binding over and stitch it in place folding the ends of the binding under for neat finish. BAG HANDLES Cut two strips of batting 15 x 2” and iron them to hendle strips leaving side seam without the batting.With right sides facing, fold the handle straps in half lengthwise and sew along the edge.Turn them inside out and top stitch along two sides. Fold the ends of the straps over and secure handles in place.
