MATERIALS: • LIBERTY Fabrics - Flower Show Midnight Garden MALVERN MEADOW 5726E 4¾” squares - 2 pieces ARLEY GARDENS 5725E6 4¾” squares - 2 pieces COSMOS FLOWER 5956B 4¾” squares - 2 pieces HAMPSTEAD MEADOW 5964C 4¾” squares - 2 pieces MARY ROSE 5961B 4¾” squares - 16 pieces KENSINGTON GARDENS 5963B 4¾” squares - 2 pieces EMILY SILHOUETTE FLOWER 5719G 4¾” squares - 2 pieces

NOTE: Stitch with ¼” seam allowance unless stated otherwise. HALF SQUARE TRIANGLE(HST) BLOCKS Take sixteen 4¾” squares from MARY ROSE fabric. Group them together in pairs with 4½” squares from other fabrics. Position the two squares together with right sides facing, lining up the edges. Draw diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side. Sew a ¼” seam on both sides of the line. Cut along the diagonal. Press the seams open and trim finished HST block to 3¾” squares. Repeat it for other colour combinations. You will need 32 HST blocks for the cushion:

Before cutting review the placement of colours in case you want to make you own choices. The size of the cushion can be adjusted easily by changing size of the blocks.

MIDNIGHT GARDEN CUSHION ASSEMBLY To assemble take HST blocks and arrange them as illustrated below or make your own choices. Stitch them together into rows (8 HST blocks per row), then sew rows aligning corresponding seams.

Cut Bosal Light Fusible Batting to the size of the cushion top. Iron batting and pillow top together. Machine or hand quilt starting at the center and working towards the corners. Measure 11 ¼” from the center seam line. Trim excess fabric on the sides, squaring the cushion.

BACKING Turn one short edge of the backing piece under ¼” press. Turn same long edges under 1” again and press. Topstitch folded edges to hem. Repeat for the other backing piece. Place quilted cushion top on top of the cushion back with right sides facing overlapping hemmed edges of cushion back pieces.
