NOTE: All seam allowances are ¼”. Sew pieces right sides together.

Sew the rest of the strips working clockwise.

Place 70 x 70cm plain backing fabric on a flat surface wrong side up. Place batting and pieced cushion front on top with right side facing up. Machine or hand quilt all layers together. Square cushion top.
Turn one long edge of the backing piece under ¼” press. Turn same long edges under 1” again and press. Topstitch folded edges to hem. Repeat for the other backing piece.
Join 2½” binding strips on diagonal. Place backing pieces on top of quilted cushion top with wrong sides facing overlapping hemmed edges of cushion back pieces. Stitch binding around the edges.
