THE RIVIERA COLLECTION QUILT FINISHED SIZE: 49” x 52” (125 x 132cm) MATERIALS: • LIBERTY Fabrics - THE RIVIERA COLLECTION • Quilters Deluxe HQD00 WHITE - 1.35mtr • backing material • wadding The fabric requirements is for making quilt as shown in the photograph. Before cutting review the placement of colours in case you want to make you own choices. CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS There are 45 fabrics in the RIVIERA COLLECTION by Liberty. Pick you favourite or follow the pattern choices for your masterpiece. Cut 16 squares - 5“ x 5“ Cut 14 pieces - 5” x 9 ½” Cut 9 pieces - 5 x 14” From Quilters Deluxe HQD00 WHITE cut four strips 2 ¾” x LENGTH of the fabric for the border. Cut 7 strips 1 ½” x LENGTH of the fabric for the vertical white stripes. From the rest of Quilters Deluxe WHITE cut eight strips 1 ½” wide for the quilt top. Subcut them into 32 strips 5” x 1 ½ BINDING Cut 3 pieces 3 ½” x WOF from Sealife and Corallium fabrics. ASEMBLY Refer to the diagram on page 3 and stitch pieces into vertical columns. Join columns together with white 1 ½” wide strips. Press. Stitch 2 ¾” strips around for the border.

BACKING We used 4 different fabrics from THE RIVIERA COLLECTION for backing.

BATTING Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, wadding, and backing fabric. Machine or hand quilt starting at the center and working towards the corners. For wider binding leave 1in of wadding around the quilt top.

THE RIVIERA COLLECTION QUILT BINDING Sew 3 ½” binding strips from each fabric together

end-to-end using diagonal seams. Press seams open. Sew binding from Sealife fabric andd binding from Corallium fabric together with straight seam. Press it open. Pin the centre seam to the centre of the quilt. Use a walking foot. Sew binding from the centre point along one side. Use a walking foot. Keep sewing until you reach a corner, and stop stitching ¼” before the edge of quilt top. Quilt centre

Lay the loose ends of the binding flat along the edge, folding the ends back on themselves where they meet at the centre of the quilt. Press them together to form a crease. Sew the two open ends of the binding with right sides together. Press open. Complete the sewing. Turn binding to back of the quilt, fold under and stitch in place.

Fold the strip in a motion of 45˚ and upward, pressing with your fingers. Hold this fold with you finger, and bring the strip down in line with the next edge, making a horizontal fold that aligns with the top edge of the wadding. Start sewing again with a ¼” seam allowance from the edge of the wadding.
