SQUARES PANEL Take 6 squares 2¼ “ x 2¼” and stitch them together into the strip. Press seams open.

Match the center of the DAISY DOT 2¾ “ x 9” strip with the center of the square panel. Pin and stitch them together. Repeat it for the second strip. Press seams. Cut batting to the size. Center a squares panel on top of the batting, right side up, and press. Mark a 45 degree line with a fabric pen. Sew on the first line, then continue quilting lines 1 1/8” apart to cover the panel. Mark a 45 degree line in the opposite direction and continue quilting lines 5/8” apart. Repeat for the other panel. Trim to 9” x 6 ½”.

For the other side of the pouch stitch DAISY DOT, SUNNY AFTERNOON and 1 ¾ “ x 9” strip from BLOOMSBURY BLOSSOM. Press seams. Center this panel on top of the batting and repeat quilting process.

ZIPPED POUCH WITH TASSEL ASSEMBLY Match the panel pieces right sides together placing the zipper on the lining side. Make sure the zipper as partially open. Pin and stitch around the pouch with a 1/4” seam allowance, leaving a 3” opening on one side of the lining. Make sure there is some space between the seam and the closed end of the zipper so it will turn neatly. Clip the corners.

ZIP Place the front of the pouch right side up. Center the zipper on top of the panel, zipper pull facing down. Fold zipper ends at the 45 degree angle and fix them in place with couple of stitches. Place a 9” x 6½” lining piece from COSMOS CLOUD on top of the zipper, right side down. Align the top and side edges with the panel and pin in place.

Using a zipper foot, sew across the top edge with a 1/4” seam allowance. Then fold the exterior panel and lining away from the zipper and press.

Turn the pouch right side out through the opening and use a chopstick to gently push the corners out. Press the lining opening edges inward, then sew the lining closed. Put the lining back into the pouch and press.

Repeat it for the other panel. Topstitch both sides of the zipper.

ZIPPED POUCH WITH TASSEL TASSEL Cut 40cm piece of DMC Perle for a knotting thread. Cut a piece of cardboard approx. 5cm in height. Double the knotting thread and place it on top of the cardboard. Start winding DMC Cotton Perle over and over till desired thickness.

Pull the ends of the knotting threads together and tie a tight and secure knot around the wrapped threads. Pull cardboard out. Thread the needle with Cotton Perle . Tie a knot, stitch through the neck of the tassel. Then tightly wrap around tassel a few times. Stitch through the tassel to secure the thread. Trim the wrapped thread along the bottom of the tassel. Use the end of the knotting thread to attach tassel to the zip.
