MATERIALS: • Hook – 2.75 - 3 mm • DMC NATURA Just Cotton Ibiza 302.01 • DMC Soft Cotton Colours used: 2916-2753-2760-2107-27762788-2828-2304-2504-2306-2106-27982666-2307-2995-2820-2114-2909 The lights are made from DMC Soft Cotton using 18 skeins – each light uses almost exactly an entire skein • String of fairy lights – Särdal (Ikea) • 18 x metal tops of mini Christmas baubles – simply gently remove from bauble • E6000 glue • Needle
SKILL LEVEL – Intermediate - Advanced Approximate project time: 12-16 hours ABBREVIATIONS – Crochet terms Written in UK Terms dc – double crochet 2trcl – 2 treble cluster dc2tog – double crochet 2 together ss – slip stitch ch – chain inc – increase dec – decrease MARKING YOUR STITCHES Be sure to mark the first stitch you make so you know exactly where you began; marking will aid with your stitch count. You will now be working in a spiral, so you must mark your first stitch at each round.
Commence with a magic circle or chain 4 and join with a ss to the first ch made to create a circle – be sure to leave a long tail to sew to your cord. Round 1: Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch), 4dc into ring. You will now be working in a spiral; mark your first stitch at each round. Round 2 inc: (2dc in next stitch, dc in next stitch) – repeat three more times to end – 8dc Round 3: dc in each and every st around – 8dc
Round 4 inc: (2dc in next stitch, dc in next stitch) – CHANGING YARN AND COLOUR repeat three more times to end – 12dc When changing yarn, or adding a new colour to your work, always do so with the last loop of Round 5: dc in each and every st around – 12dc your final stitch, then proceed as pattern directs. © DMC, 2017. Place your little metal top over this opening – glue in place.

FINISHING AND ASSEMBLY Once your light tops have dried, arrange the lights in your desired colour sequence. With the white natura, commence to dc around the strand of the fairy lights – do so evenly and simply crochet your lights in. TIPS: Make this garland as long or as short as you desire. These would also look great on a Christmas tree.
