Length (approx, excluding handles) 40cm

YARN

Cake Yarn 100g x 3 balls

HOOKS AND EXTRAS

A 5mm Crochet Hook, or size that gives correct tension. A yarn needle.

TENSION

15dc and 16 rows to 10cm, using 5mm hook.

BAG

Note – This bag is worked in a continuous round, not rows with RS facing.

Using 5mm hook, make 59ch.

1dc into second ch from hook. 1dc into each chain till last ch. 2dc into last ch.

Turn work around so you are now working below each dc previously made.

1dc into each ch, till end. 2dc into last ch = 120dc. Do not start a new round but continue to make 1dc into each dc. Your work will start to fold in half naturally as you keep going. Continue working, with the RS facing until your work measures 40cm from beginning.

Work last dc at the side of the bag, sl st into the next dc. Fasten off.

Handles

Lay the bag flat and place markers 6cm from each edge, at the top of the bag on both sides of bag = 4 markers for the placement of the handles.

On the first side of bag, ** join yarn to the marker on the right. 1ch, 1dc into next 6dc. Turn.

(1ch, 1dc into next 6dc. Turn), repeat until handle measures 75cm. Fasten off.

Leave a long end to sew end of handle onto same side of the bag. **

Rep from ** to ** on the other side of bag for the other handle.

FINISHING

Darn in ends. Sew ends of each handle to marked areas on the bag, noting not to twist handles.
