MATERIALS

Chenille 100g

1 ball

NEEDLES AND EXTRAS

1 pair 5mm knitting needles and 1 set 4.50mm double pointed needles or size that gives correct tension. 2 stitch holders; A yarn needle; 2 buttons.

TENSION

13 sts and 26 rows to 10cm over garter st using 5mm needles.

JACKET (worked in one piece, beg at neck)

Using 5mm needles, cast on 36 sts.

Knit 3 rows garter st (1st row is WS).

4th row - K2, K2tog, yfwd (buttonhole), K3, * inc in next st, K2, rep from * to last 5 sts, K5 = 44 sts. 5th row - Knit.

6th row - K7, * inc in next st, K3, rep from * to last 5 sts, K5 = 52 sts.

7th row - Knit.

8th row - K8, * inc in next st, K4, rep from * to last 4 sts, K4 = 60 sts. 9th row - Knit.

10th row - K8, * inc in next st, K5, rep from * to last 4 sts, K4 = 68 sts.

Knit 3 rows garter st.

14th row - K9, * inc in next st, K6, rep from * to last 3 sts, K3 = 76 sts.

Knit 3 rows garter st

18th row - K2, K2tog, yfwd (buttonhole), K5, * inc in next st, K7, rep from * to last 3 sts, K3 = 84 sts.

Knit 2 rows garter st

21st row (WS) - K10, purl to last 10 sts, K10

Shape Underarm -

Next row - K13, inc in each of next 2 sts, K12, inc in each of next 2 sts, K26, inc in each of next 2 sts, K12, inc in each of next 2 sts, K13 = 92 sts.

Next and foll alt rows - K10, purl to last 10 sts, K10

Next row - K14, inc in each of next 2 sts, K14, inc in each of next 2 sts, K28, inc in each of next 2 sts, K14, inc in each of next 2 sts, K14 = 100 sts.

Next row - K15, inc in each of next 2 sts, K16, inc in each of next 2 sts, K30, inc in each of next 2 sts, K16, inc in each of next 2 sts, K15 = 108 sts.

Next row - K16, inc in each of next 2 sts, K18, inc in each of next 2 sts, K32, inc in each of next 2 sts, K18, inc in each of next 2 sts, K16 = 116 sts.

Next row - K17, inc in each of next 2 sts, K20, inc in each of next 2 sts, K34, inc in each of next 2 sts, K20, inc in each of next 2 sts, K17 = 124 sts.

Divide for Fronts and Back -

Next row - K19, slip next 24 sts onto a stitch holder for sleeve, K38, slip next 24 sts onto a stitch holder for sleeve, K19 = 76 sts.

Next row - K10, purl to last 10 sts, K10

Next row - Knit.

Rep last 2 rows until work measures 22cm from beg, working last row on right side Knit 5 rows. Cast off loosely Sleeves - With RS facing, slip 24 sts for first sleeve evenly onto set of 4.50mm needles.

1st round - Knit.

2nd round - Purl.

Rep last 2 rounds once Cast off loosely knitways. Rep for other Sleeve

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Sew in ends. Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes.
