Tdesigner Adam Gerndt devised a graciously sized space that would set the tone for the home, and the team at Henhouse Antiques took the cue by lling it with vignettes of 18th- and 19th-century pieces. “We wanted to create a space that was inviting and comfortable and would allow guests to move from the foyer to the other rooms with ease,” says the design team. A mahogany wing chair covered in a kilim pairs with a Jacobean chest of drawers to anchor the stair access. A nearby wall features a French server with antique oil jars and a Louis Phillippe mirror above (page 30). In the front hall, an arrangement of fruit-drying racks is hung to create a windmill e ect (page 30). Another hallway features an antique pine dairy table topped with a pair of lamps and an antique horse painting (page 30). Antique rugs anchor the spaces and guide guests toward the bedroom, kitchen, and den.
