FAMILY EVENTS A WINTER WISH - CEOL CONNECTED Every winter in Whistleberry Forest, a little robin comes to visit and grants the creatures of the forest their very own wish – they can wish for whatever they want! Discover the mysteries of Whistleberry Forest in a mesmerising music performance with traditional musicians Thomas Johnston and Stephen Markham, and visual artist Orla Kelly.

FESTIVAL FILM A selfish prince is cursed to become a monster for the rest of his life, unless he learns to fall in love with a beautiful young woman, Belle, the only human to visit his castle. This classic is brought to life on the big screen along with our favourite characters Lumière, Cogsworth, Chip and Mrs Potts!
YOU’VE GOT DRAGONS TAKING FLIGHT THEATRE ‘Dragons come when you least expect them. You turn around... and there they are.’ And sometimes they are hard to get rid of. So what can a young girl with a bad case of the dragons do? A touching take on Kathryn Cave’s book of the same name – the story is told in a beautifully inclusive way with Irish Sign Language. Do you have what it takes to Step it Up and Step it Out? Step Out Dance brings us back to a funkier time. When BREAKING wasn’t just when something was broken. When LOCKING wasn’t about doors and when POPPING wasn’t just about pimples. This workshop is full of technical skills and funk!
Come and meet Vincent Van Gogh, one of the most famous artists of all time. Vincent will talk about himself and his painting ‘Rooftops In Paris’, and how the clouds in this painting express his feelings. You will then describe your feelings through drawing and colouring - happy, sad and everything else in between.

Using a small drum kit and a large set of plastic barrel and bucket drums and beaters, let’s create African and Latin rhythms and learn simple patterns of call and response culminating in a micro-performance.
Learn the basics of large scale human stop-motion animation! Move yourself, chairs, tables, and lots more. No drawing skills required, just a desire to be animated.

A short tale on the lore of feathers and their uses and how the Fairies spend many years collecting them from empty nests and in the branches of trees – using the colourful splendid ones to make crown-masks as we will do using feathers, and bedecking them to glisten and sparkle.

Additional Information Notes for parents: All performances require a parent present and preschool children must be accompanied at all times. Please check individual events for additional parental attendance requirements. Please plan your Festival activities before you book. Due to the demand for workshops, please book early. Children should wear comfortable clothes for activities and bring an old t-shirt for make and do workshops. Children with allergies to any materials e.g. latex, should inform us at time of booking. We have a child protection policy in place therefore age limit and participant numbers will be strictly adhered to in the interest of safety for all children. You will be asked to sign in your child to all workshops and leave your contact details with staff. Please ensure you are at the events at least 5 minutes before the end of a workshop to be present when your child finishes. Many events are for both children and parents, so please enjoy them too!
