Our values are rooted in the Catholic faith and we are committed to a faith-based environment, where students will find spiritual discovery and acceptance throughout their Bishop Gorman journey.
Students are required to take Theology courses each year at Bishop Gorman. They begin their studies with
Sacred Scripture and progress to senior electives such as Apologetics, World Religions, Vocations, Social Justice,
and Catholic Perspectives in Literature and Film.
Liturgy
In keeping with the commitment to enhance the spiritual experience of the Bishop Gorman community, students and faculty worship together with monthly Eucharistic celebrations. Students are welcome to
participate in the liturgies as lectors, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, altar servers or members of the Worship Choir.
Mite Box On Tuesday mornings, the Bishop Gorman community
participates in the weekly Mite Box collection. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to donate to the Mite Box collection, whether two quarters or two dollars. All funds collected go to the Matthew 25 Board, a
student-led group that reviews applications for monetary assistance from the Las Vegas community, with some

It is the mission of our Campus Ministry Department to help the Bishop Gorman community explore and discover Jesus Christ’s abiding love and presence in our lives.
Our Campus Ministry team coordinates many faith-filled aspects of our campus, including our Christian Service program and Retreat program.
Christian Service As part of our Bishop Gorman mission statement, we aim to
create a community where service is valued and celebrated.
Students are required to participate in a minimum of 100 hours of Christian Service (25/year minimum) as a requirement for
graduation. Within the Christian Service Program, students will find different service opportunities that speak to them, create

Campus Ministry coordinates two different retreats – one for freshmen and sophomores and one for juniors and seniors – that provide an opportunity to explore one’s
relationship with God, oneself and others. Both retreats
are offered multiple times throughout the school year,
in addition to day-long class retreats, and opportunities
to attend both LA Youth Day and the Viatorian Youth Congress.
Quest
QUEST is an overnight retreat for 9th and 10th graders. This retreat allows for students to learn more about
themselves, their relationships with family and friends
and their relationship with God. Led by previous sophomore retreatants, it is typically offered three
times during the school year.
Kairos
KAIROS is a three day retreat for 11th and 12th graders.
This retreat helps students learn more about self, relationships and God, but also discusses how living
a Christian life can help guide their future and strengthen those relationships. Led by previous senior
