Gaels vs. Findlay Prep
The BGHS Women’s Soccer Team had the best year in school history. Not only were they undefeated at 27-0-1, but they finished the season with a State Championship and a #6 national ranking. This Bishop Gorman team becomes the highest ranked Nevada team in the 20-year Fab 50 history! The Gaels won the Desert Region Tournament in dramatic fashion with a penalty kick victory over Coronado. Goalie Kirsten Kircher '19 was the star of the game, shutting down the Coronado free kicks. In the new City Championship game, Bishop Gorman beat Faith Lutheran 3-2 to set up the pairings in the State Tournament. Gianna Gourley '19 scored two goals in the game to lead the team. In the State Semifinals, the Gaels built an early 3-0 lead over Palo Verde on goals
Last year, the BGHS Women’s Volleyball Team lost a heart breaker to Shadow Ridge in five sets at the State Finals. This year, under new Head Coach, Gregg Nunley, the Lady Gaels would have none of that with a dominate run through the state of Nevada. “Earn it” was their motto all year, and they did just that, going 39-4, winning the Nevada State Championship, and a national ranking by Max Preps. This will go down as the best Volleyball team in Bishop Gorman history. The team didn’t lose a set to a Nevada opponent all season, and cruised through the Desert Region playoffs with 3-0 victories over Silverado, Liberty, and Coronado. In the Las Vegas City Championship match, the Gaels handled Palo Verde 3-0 as well to earn the #1 seed at the State Tournament in Reno.

Marching Toward A Win!
In late July, members of the Bishop Gorman Marching Band convened in their band room for a briefing on what would ultimately be one of the most grueling competitive seasons the program has ever faced. Two and a half weeks of pre-season training in the scorching heat were well underway as the campus was quietly awaiting its first day of classes. Little by little, each student refined their skills as they were scrutinized, pushed, and expected to put forth nothing less than 100% effort at all times. Over the next four months, the ensemble continued to build and refine their product every morning on Fertitta Field. That product was a competitive field production affectionately titled Company 54—a nod to the founding year of Bishop Gorman—containing subject matter of war, heroes, sacrifice, and perseverance relative to the Centennial of World War 1.
