An Incoming Freshman’s Guide to Bishop Gorman High School
e m o c l e Freshman Class of 2022! W
July 2018
On behalf of the administration, faculty and staff, I want to again welcome you and your family to the Bishop Gorman High School community! Over the past year, I have had the pleasure of meeting you and your families on school tours, visits to your respective schools, Shadow Days and Bishop Gorman Open House. When you return to campus in August, you will be writing a new, life-changing chapter in your life and we are so excited you chose to have that adventure with us. While our Office of Admissions has been happy to guide you and your families along the way, you will find additional resources at your fingertips, now that you are officially a Bishop Gorman Gael. Below are just a few offices and phone numbers that you may find helpful to answer your specific questions as you begin the school year. Remember that our Bishop Gorman website is also a helpful tool that always has additional answers and helpful tidbits not included in this publication. I wish you the best of luck as you make the transition from middle school to high school and I look forward to seeing you on campus.
Go Gaels!

From the Desk of
Dean Anderson
Welcome, Class of 2022, to the Bishop Gorman Family! I am looking forward to meeting you at Freshman Orientation on August 9-10. Remember, this is mandatory for all freshmen, so please mark your calendars! Classes begin on August 13th for all students, so orientation gives you a chance to meet your teachers before everyone is here. You will receive more information in the next few weeks, so please read all correspondence from Bishop Gorman. Freshman year will be a change for all of you in a very positive way. As you prepare to enter high school, make sure that you take time to read daily. You will most likely find that high school will require more work from you. More than half of you signed up for summer enrichment classes which should have helped you get used to the work required, learn your way around campus, and meet members of your class. In addition, ALL students will have summer work posted on the school website! Please be sure to check what books have been assigned to your level and for any summer work pertaining to your classes for next year. All students will be tested on their summer work during the first week of classes. You will also receive a copy of the student handbook by the end of the summer. Please read through it and become familiar with the rules we have for attendance and dress code at Bishop Gorman High School. Enjoy your summer, and I look forward to meeting you and your families and helping you to get the most out of high school! If you have any questions, you can reach me by email this summer.
