LA Youth Day 2019 Youth Day 2019 took place this past March at the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress and drew more than 12,000 young people from across the LA Archdiocese and beyond. This annual event, for students in grades 9 through 12, is planned by young people, for young people. This year's theme for Youth Day 2019 was Trust! God’s Gotchu. This theme was discerned by a select group of high school students from across the five regions of the Los Angeles Archdiocese who were challenged to create a theme that speaks to today's young people while also capturing the essence of the readings. Trust! God’s Gotchu was the foundation for the day's activities – from prayers, to music, skits and reflections.

C-SPAN Presents Award Congratulations to Zander Clinton '21 on winning a 3rd Prize in C-SPAN's 2019 StudentCam Competition which asked students to create a 5-6 minute documentary. For the 2019 C-SPAN Documentary Competition, students addressed the theme, “What does it mean to be American?”. Students were challenged to choose a constitutional right, national characteristic, or historic event and explain how it defines the American experience. In response, a record 6,318 students from 48 states and Washington, D.C., participated. The most popular topics among the 2,923 submissions included First Amendment Rights (17%), Equality/Discrimination (13%) and Immigration (9%).
