Our mock trial team performed like no other “rookie” team in their first Invitational Tournament on September 29 and 30, 2018 at the Yale University campus in New Haven, CT. The tournament's case layout was the most difficult case our team has ever broken down and the students performed like seasoned veterans. They swept their opponents on day one. Going into day two they were tied for first with two other teams that had won the National Tournament last May. Our team ended up in sixth place, out of 23 state champions who had been invited. Ultimately, our Mock Trial team did so well that everyone was commenting about them. Brooke Powell '19 (pictured at right) came in first on all of the judges’ ballots and won BEST WITNESS!

Think Global Kindness What do you do with your breaks from school? Vacations to the tropics? A cruise? Disneyland? For the past few years our Activities Director, Jimmy Gleich '01 has been spending his breaks in Africa working to better the lives of children. Jimmy has made several trips to Africa to countries like Ghana, South Africa, and Kenya. In fact, he helps run and fund two schools/orphanages in rural Ghana with his partners. Jimmy has known many of the children in his schools since they were very young and is committed to making sure they get the education they deserve in order to break the cycle of poverty. Each year Jimmy takes multiple teams of high school students and teachers to Africa to work in communities and donate items he brings over from the U.S.
