Dear Alumni and Friends, HISTORY is always in the making, especially at Bishop Gorman High School. As this edition of the Gael Gazette arrives, we take this opportunity to reflect on another exciting and historic year at Bishop Gorman, while also making exciting plans for the future. With awards in Speech & Debate, Mock Trial, Theatre and Band, over $30 million in college scholarship money (page 4-5), winning State Championships for the first time in school history (page 8-10), and 45 graduating seniors with legacy family members (page 6-7), you can’t help but feel proud to be a part of Gael HISTORY. Within these pages, you will see that our talented students, dedicated teachers and passionate alumni are providing a pathway to greatness. I can think of no better example of the Bishop Gorman pride and passion that we feel for our beautiful campus, our close-knit community and our fellow Gaels. At Bishop Gorman, we provide experiences and opportunities that are second to none. In this edition, you will see where traditions are kept alive and HISTORY is being made each and every day. Looking ahead to the 2018-2019 school year, there are many exciting events that I would like to share with you as you read through the summer issue. Make sure you mark your calendars for all of the fall events (page 11), you don’t want to miss out! Reach out to your class reps and find ways to get involved. Bishop Gorman is a special place! Whether you attend or volunteer at an event, participate in a service project, make a gift or attend a game, we want everyone to engage. While this past year has been an exciting one with everything going on around campus, we know that we can continue to grow and continue to create HISTORY. Hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable summer and we look forward to seeing you in the fall.

This year’s Annual Wine Tasting event, Passport, took Bishop Gorman parents, alumni & friends to Greece! The event was held at Crimson poolside on May 4th at the Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa, where guests enjoyed delicious drinks, tasty food, great entertainment and of course, some delicious wines! Guests were also able to cheer on our Vegas Golden Knights in the Stanley Cup Playoffs! The indoor/outdoor venue was a great atmosphere for the evening’s beautiful weather! Along with the wines, beers, and specialty cocktails, there was a wide variety of Greek-inspired bites to enjoy! Over 70 auction items were bid on throughout the week and at the event with our “text-in” silent auction raising money for our Tuition Assistance Program. The night was a huge success and we could not have done it without our gracious performers, sponsors, volunteers and YOU! Special thanks to all of our auction donors, Red Rock Casino Resort Spa, Breakthru Beverage of Nevada, Missy Cochran Entertainment, Encore Productions, Lifetouch, Aloha Orthodontics, Johnny Legends and McDonalds! Can’t wait to see where Passport 2019 will take us next!
