WHAT IS OUR BRAND?
Bishop Kenny High School is a Catholic college preparatory school dedicated to forming persons of integrity, capable of making life decisions and positive contributions to their faith, family, and global communities.
In the same way that students, faculty, and staff represent the school through their actions and behavior, when you use Bishop Kenny’s name and logos, you communicate on behalf of the school. Every member of our community bears a responsibility to bring a cohesive brand to life and maintain its integrity by applying it consistently throughout all school communications, including print, web, display, apparel and spirit items, and electronic formats.
This guide is a tool to assist you and reflects an intention to simplify and strengthen our visual identity. It will ensure that who we are and how we are perceived are one and the same. All logos, colors, fonts, artwork, and images found within this guide are proprietary signatures of Bishop Kenny. As current products, uniforms, and other materials require replacement, allow this guide to shape your design choices.

For more than 70 years, Bishop Kenny has provided students with a vibrant and welcoming community where founding Catholic virtues echo throughout the halls, calling those who enter to live a life of purpose and service. When communicating about the school to internal and external audiences in a formal setting, use our full name on first reference.
Bishop Kenny (informal; acceptable second reference)
When communicating about the school in an informal setting or in second reference in a formal setting, it is ok to refer to the school as “Bishop Kenny.”

These abbreviations should primarily be used when speaking to internal audiences (e.g. faculty and staff, internal organizations such as boards and clubs) or to an external audience as a second reference after use of the school’s name.

FILE FORMATS ARE NOTATED IN THE FILE NAMES AND SHOULD BE USED APPROPRIATELY TO ENSURE COLOR ACCURACY.
DESIGN
Native file type used to create BK’s logos. Because Adobe Illustrator saves the artwork as vector, it can be reproduced at any size without becoming pixelated. In the BK brand package, these files contain all the color versions of each logo.
DIGITAL
These files can be used for projects that will be used digitally/online or printed at the school. Best for Microsoft Office, email signatures, profile images, etc. RGB
PRINT
The majority of professionally printed products will use a CMYK color space. There are also Pantone files if needed. Best for swag, signage, marketing materials, etc.*

The reverse version inverts the two primary colors. Not all logos have this variation. Both colors will show regardless of background.

WATERMARKS
THE WATERMARK LOGOS IN BISHOP KENNY’S LOGO SUITE ARE TRANSPARENT FILES THAT WILL ALLOW THE BACKGROUND THEY ARE PLACED ON TO SHOW THROUGH.
THEY ARE SOMETIMES USED ON PHOTOGRAPHY OR AS DOCUMENT BACKGROUNDS.
When using watermark logos, make sure that the logo is clearly visible and does not get overpowered by the background. In some cases, using a different color variation of the logo or choosing a different photo may be necessary. Non-transparent logo files may also be used with a reduced opacity for a document background watermark, as shown on the background of this page with the athletics monogram.

Placement on darker portion of the photo allows for better contrast.
The use of opacity may also be used when watermarking.

IN ADDITION TO THE GUIDELINES FOR ACCEPTABLE USAGE, THERE ARE GUIDELINES FOR HOW THE SCHOOL LOGO SUITE SHOULD NOT BE USED.
HERE ARE SOME COLORS AND APPLICATIONS THAT SHOULD BE AVOIDED:
A. DO NOT change the logo colors.
B. DO NOT distort or stretch the logo.
C. AVOID placing the logos on colors that are not part of the brand color palette; if it cannot be avoided, use one-color (1C) versions.
D. DO NOT place graphics or text within the clear space of the logo.
E. DO NOT alter the logo or wordmark fonts.
F. DO NOT rotate the logo at any other angle other than 90 degrees.
G. AVOID placing the monogram on the same color background as the color version you are using (e.g. the reverse should not be placed on white and the full color should not be placed on red), as that alters the design.

USING THE COLOR PALETTE IS ONE OF THE EASIEST WAYS TO MAKE SURE OUR MATERIALS REFLECT A COHESIVE BRAND.
Bishop Kenny’s primary school colors are Crusader Red (PMS 187) and Avenue White. These colors should be the basis of all our branding. A secondary palette that evokes the rich heritage of our school uniforms can be used for variety in design elements and to offset the primary colors. Each color has set values for the different color systems for print (CMYK, PMS), digital applications such as Microsoft Office (RGB), and web (Hex).

There is no better way to start your high school experience than Preview BK. This program gives rising ninth-grade students an opportunity to spend time on campus before the beginning of the school year. Students will participate in hands-on, fast-paced games and activities focusing on team building, leadership skills, and gaining confidence as they begin high school. Expect to build new friendships and gain insights on success strategies for navigating our 55-acre campus and day-to-day life as a BK student. Your first year on campus is the entry point to a lifetime as a Crusader. Don’t miss Preview BK!

Latin motto: Integritas Sapientiae “Integrity of Wisdom”
“It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God- that is our righteousness, holiness and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30).” Christ’s wisdom motivates us to know and obey God’s word, to listen to the wise counsel of others, to resist making hasty decisions, and to recognize that our plans can only move forward if they are in God’s purpose for our lives and others. When we walk in this wisdom, we become persons of integrity with a desire to honor God and others motivating our lives, giving life to our soul, and allowing us to find true satisfaction, meaning, and purpose.

Through three annual events, the golf tournament in the fall, the school auction, and tuition raffle in the spring, this group raises money to help pay for things like team uniforms, post-season travel, trophies for student-athletes, and other requests from student groups. Over BK’s history, they have also generously provided assistance when the school undertook major projects like air-conditioning the gym, upgrading the baseball or football stadiums, and renovating the weight room.

BK THEATRE KENNY ANGELS BK NJROTC
St. Genesius was a third-century Roman actor who experienced a sudden and powerful conversion to Christianity during a performance for Emperor Diocletian, in which he satirized being baptized. Upon declaring his conversion to the emperor, he was tortured and ultimately beheaded for his resolve to his newfound faith. St. Genesius is the patron saint of actors, and his feast day is celebrated on August 25.

The benefit to students and our school is significant, as physical education and athletics help students become more physically and mentally confident, both on campus and beyond Bishop Kenny. In the same way our Catholic faith informs all aspects of academics, Crusader athletics are guided by faith and emphasize sportsmanship, accountability, teamwork, and the true spirit of a Christian athlete. Our programs emphasize sportsmanship, accountability, and teamwork, and have produced athletes that have gone on to compete at the collegiate and professional levels. We have 23 teams, including varsity, junior varsity, and freshman, and more than 50% of students participate in athletics. All 2021/22 Crusader teams were recognized as Academic Team Champions by the Florida High School Athletic Association, placing BK 6th overall academically in class 4A for its sports teams.
