ABOUT BK
Bishop Kenny High School, founded in 1952, is a four-year Catholic co-educational college preparatory school with a diverse community of 1,400 students enrolled in grades 9-12. The campus is located in Northeast Florida on the south side of the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, a growing metropolitan center with a population of more than 1.6 million people. The school is operated under the ecclesiastical auspices of the Diocese of Saint Augustine.

Bishop Kenny High School has a professional staff of 96 men and women, 47% of whom hold advanced degrees. The average teaching experience of the faculty is 16 years.

CURRICULUM AND GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Bishop Kenny High School offers an expanded college preparatory curriculum designed to meet the needs of all types of learners. The three levels of courses offered: College Preparatory, Honors and Advanced Placement are designed to challenge students academically and prepare them for admission to college. Twenty-eight credits are required for graduation in the following subject areas:

GRADE AND RANK INFORMATION
All students take seven courses each year. Cumulative grade point averages are based on annual grades. The annual grade is computed by combining quarter grades with semester exams.
Class rank is based on all students and on all subjects. Grade point average and class rank are weighted. Honors and Advanced Placement courses receive an additional weight.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROGRAM
In 2023 - 2024, 943 AP exams were administered to 377 students. 83% of Bishop Kenny students taking AP exams earned a passing score. AP exams are graded on a scale of 1-5; with 3-5 considered passing grades. These classes and exams provide an additional challenge to those students who possess a high level of responsibility, are capable of independent work, and exhibit highly-developed thinking skills.
