Boost Marketing in Facebook, Earn Money Facebook marketing has been getting a lot of bad rep lately, especially since it started veering away from being completely free to being only partly free (paid ads are prioritized). Unpaid ads or business pages that have stuck to being 100% free have noted a drop in traffic to a mere 20%, leaving a lot of small businesses struggling to improve reach and engagement. Does this mean that Facebook is no longer a viable way of marketing online and boosting revenue? While the current Facebook that we’ve got may seem less than ideal, it’s still one of the best ways to get word out about your business and product. Despite the changes that the Facebook team has recently made, putting your business on the popular social media website still leads to an average of 24% boost in sales (according to a study by Aggregate Knowledge, reported by Ad Week). But what all the changes do mean is that you need to optimize your marketing efforts in Facebook to earn money from increased revenue and more leads captured, and here are a few tips to do just that: 1. Rules of Engagement Search ‘best marketing tips on Facebook’ in Google and you’ll get about fifty articles all saying the same thing – you need to engage your market base. The problem is, most don’t really tell you how. The best way to engage your potential clients is to forget traditional advertising which was always a one way street. Don’t just broadcast information. Instead, share them as you would to your friends, as if in an effort to be helpful. Also, don’t try too hard (e.g. flooding people’s newsfeeds with posts, begging for likes with graphics, having too many contests). Offer up useful and relevant information and encourage your ‘friends’ to discuss by asking their opinions. Every now and then you can return the favor by liking a relevant post or even sharing on your wall. 2. Optimize Conversion All your efforts on Facebook to earn money and market your products should all lead to a landing page or a separate business website where you can offer up a clear call-to-action. Directly selling on Facebook is a no-no and generally turns people away, but once they’ve made it to your landing page, it’s a different story. They have clicked that link and they want in and all your call-to-action needs to do is to reel them in. A call-to-action is something that asks them to sign up or make a purchase or generally do something that you want them to do. It can be in the form of a graphic, words, or a combination of both. What’s important is that it’s visible the moment you enter the site and that it’s well-made and well-thought out. Don’t forget to measure effectiveness and don’t be afraid to experiment if what you’ve got doesn’t seem to be working.

3. Consider Paying for Ads It might feel like you’re going over to the dark side but you might want to consider setting aside $1 a day for Facebook ads. At $0.25 for every thousand impressions, $30 a month can get you 4 000 more impressions a day than your competition. That’s 4 000 people who will see your ad and know who you are. Facebook marketing is by no means dead; the game has just changed a little and we need to change right along with it.
