Love is that thing that makes you go out skateing alone when all your friends are at the beach, and is 40° outside. Love is your brand new board broken after 5 minute sesh. Love is that hole on your one and only shoes you run. Love is sweating for that no close trick. Love is usign crutches for one month for a rolling ankle. Love is… i think i’m talking about skateboarding. Love is skateboarding.

Organizzare la propria routine di skateboarding non è sempre immediato, soprattutto per chi non abita in città attrezzate con skatepark decenti e con una scena adeguata. Se siete obbligati a skateare in strada perché mancano le strutture oppure se siete dei streetaioli maledetti a cui il cemento quarzato fa schifo, vi sarete già resi conto che l’organizzazione delle vostre giornate si sviluppa in direzione diametralmente opposta a quella delle “persone normali”. È abbastanza palese che skateare gli spot fighi del centro, le stazioni della metropolitana e tutti quei luoghi popolati da lavoratori, pendolari e gente che “c’ha da fare”, diventa tanto complicato di giorno quanto facile di notte, quando tutte queste persone sono tornate nelle loro case a guardare canale cinque e a mangiare la pastasciutta. È altrettanto ovvio che il muretto stiloso nel cortile del palazzo residenziale sarà un bust immediato di sera quando la gente è a casa ma magari sarà skateabile per un paio d’ore in mezzo al pomeriggio, quando tutti gli altri lavorano. Vivendo gli spazi urbani e muovendocisi all’interno al contrario delle persone normali, gli skater, chi più consciamente e chi meno, hanno nel tempo sviluppato la capacità di riconoscere la percentuale di rottura di coglioni di uno spot e di formulare l’equazione mentale che descrive l’ora esatta per skateare nel posto giusto, arrecando meno fastidio possibile al cittadino non skateante. Non che nessuno skater provi veramente compassione per il cittadino non skateante, che ugualmente non ne prova alcuna per noi, ci comportiamo così per rispettare la regola aurea del quieto vivere, del io non rompo i coglioni a te e tu non li rompi a me. Perché, sinceramente: che palle farsi cacciare dagli sbirri dopo aver appena atterrato il trick, che palle skateare uno spot bagnato dovendo schivare secchiate d’acqua dai piani alti, che palle la vecchia che ti lancia il malocchio sperando che tu cada e ti spacchi testa, braccia e gambe, che palle. Ma allo stesso tempo che palle i ragazzini che si credono punk perché sfottono un vecchio che gli ha chiesto di non fare rumore, che da soli stanno zitti ma che in gruppo fanno la voce grossa, urlano, lanciano le tavole e spaccano tutto quando vengono cacciati da uno spot, rendendolo un bust per sempre, che palle. Se continuiamo a perdere tutto questo tempo a litigare rischiamo che non ne rimanga più per skateare. Ma attenzione, non sto invitando alla sottomissione nei confronti dei cittadini non skateanti, assolutamente, loro non hanno ragione. Sto invitando a prenderli per il culo, a skateargli la casa mentre sono al lavoro, a skateargli l’ufficio mentre sono a casa. Sto invitando a skateare di notte gli spot che non potreste skateare di giorno e viceversa, a lasciare tracce di ruote sulle parete, di cera sui muretti, di sbeccare gli ultimi due gradini di ogni scalinata, di rivendicare e conquistare la città, e di farlo senza stare perdere tempo. Fanculo il passante hater, lo sbirro, il vecchio, il negoziante, loro non ci capiranno mai in ogni caso. Se loro si svegliano alle sette e vanno a dormire alle dieci noi allora dobbiamo fare il contrario. Insomma skateate di notte perché se lo fate bene nessuno sarà lì a rompervi i coglioni e avrete tutto il tempo di fare il vostro trick, senza dover implorare un ultimo try a nessuno.

Organizing your skateboarding time isn’t always easy, especially for who doesn’t live in cities with decent skateparks and a good scene. If you are forced to skate in the streets because of this or if you just love street skating, you already know that organizing your sessions is very different than how “normal people” organize theirs. It’s clear that skating downtown, metro stations and those crowded places where people work, walk, “do stuff” it’s as hard during the day as easy during the night, when all these people are back home, watching Canale 5 and eating pastasciutta. It’s also obvious that the cool perfect ledge in the frontyard of a residential building it’s gonna be an instant bust at night, when people are home, but maybe it’s gonna be ok for a couple hours in the afternoon, when they’re out working. Using urban spaces unlike how normal people do, skaters have developed a useful skill: understand the bust possibility percentage and form the mental equation that describes the perfect time to skate a spot, trying to bother the non-skating citizens as little as possible. It’s not that skaters don’t care about them, considering that they don’t care just as much about us, we just act like this because of the “quiet life” rule: I don’t break your balls, you don’t break mine. It’s a pain in the ass to get kicked out by the cops right before landing the trick, to skate a spot getting buckets of water poured on you, to get cursed by an old lady that hopes you’ll break your arms, legs and whatnot. But on the same hand, I believe kids that think they’re punk insulting the elders, being badass only when they’re in a group, throw boards around, scream and break stuff, making a spot a bust forever are lame. All this time wasted arguing and fighting it’s only less time spent skating. I’m not saying we have to surrender to the non-skating citizens. I’m just saying we should be smarter: we could skate under their houses when they’re at work, or skate their offices when they’re home. I’m just saying we could skate the spots that we can’t skate in the daytime during the nighttime and viceversa. We have to leave wheel marks on the walls, wax marks on ledges, to break the last two steps of every stairset, to conquer the city, and doing it without wasting any time. Don’t mind the haters, the cops, the elder, the shop owners, they’ll understand anyway. If they wake up at seven and go to sleep at 10 that means we have to do the opposite. Skate at night, or better at the right time, because if you do it good you’ll have all the time to land your tricks, without having to beg nobody for a “last try”.

Badass Coast Come nasce il progetto Badasscoast? Il progetto badasscoast nasce nel 2011, quasi per gioco, la mia idea era quella di fare una Family dove poter identificare la scena Pescarese, poi con il tempo ho notato che con un po' di impegno si poteva fare qualcosa di serio, sono stato il primo a credere nella cosa, cominciando a fare magliette in casa con il mio amico ed elemento portante della family Giampiero Pagnini, che tutt'ora mi supporta come all'inizio, poi dopo un po' di anni con la collaborazione di Filippo Mancini abbiamo cominciato a fare anche una produzione di tavole e abbigliamento in serie limitata, ora dopo tanti anni sono rimasto solo, porto avanti questo progetto e ne sono molto fiero sia per quello che abbiamo creato a Pescara che per il numero di ragazzi che si stanno avvicinando alla scena skate.

How Badasscoast is born? I started Badass Coast in 2011, for fun. My idea was to create a family where Pescara scene could identify with. With time I understood that with a little effort I could create something more serious, so I started making t-shirts at home with my friend and main supporter of the family Giampiero Pagnini, he’s still very hyped on it. Later on, I started collaborating with Filippo Mancini, we made the first decks and few pieces of clothing; today I’m the only one left working on everything, and I’m quite proud of what we did for Pescara and for the kids that are starting skating now.
Come si è evoluta la scena locale in questi ultimi anni? I started Badass Coast in 2011, for fun. My idea was to create a family where Pescara scene could identify with. Badass Coast
How has the scene evolved in recent years? The scene is growing a lot even if we don’t have any skateparks, either a skateshop in the city. The only one is Benihana Skateshop which is located in Ortona, 20 minutes away from Pescara, owned by Davide. We street-skate a lot, our main spot is piazza Garibaldi, where everything started in the 90’s with the old generation of skaters such as Matteo Di Nisio, Alessandro Ciattoni and Luca Dell'Elce. We owe a lot to them.
Badass può essere definito un progetto “genuino” almeno quanto il nostro, cosa ti/vi spinge ad andare avanti? Secondo me si, può essere definito così perché quello che facciamo giorno per giorno è solo roba genuina fatta per divertirci e per stare bene, quello che mi spinge adesso ad andare avanti sono le persone che fanno parte della Family badass, quelli che supportano il progetto, che credono in quello che stiamo facendo e quelli che si sono uniti a noi con il passare degli anni...

Badass can be called a "genuine" project like ours, what motivates you to go on? I think yes, it can be defined like this because it’s basically what we do everyday, we just skate and try to have a good time. People that I skate with are what keeps me going, people the supports the project and people that joined us during the years.
Esprimi il tuo concetto di skateboarding. L'unica cosa che posso dire dello skateboarding che mi ha dato la possibilità di conoscere molti ragazzi che vivono lo skate come lo viviamo noi, anche ragazzi che non sono di Pescara come Nikolò Bromo, Nino Magana, gli amici delle Marche che si sono uniti alla family, ragazzi come voi di bisk8 che mi state dando l’opportunità di farci conoscere meglio, anche se per conoscerci meglio dovete venire a trovarci che ci facciamo una skateata e naturalmente una bella mangiata di arrosticini . Express your concept of "skateboarding". Only thing I could say about skateboarding is that it gave me the opportunity to meet many people that enjoy skateboarding the way I do, including people that are not from Pescara such as Nikolo Bromo, Nino Magana, friends from March, people like you at Bisk8 that are giving me a space to promote my project. You guys have to come over here to get to know each other better, we’ll skate and of course we’ll grill some arrosticini.

Recently Lollo was in Napoli with the 7hills team for a quick tour. In these pages he tells us a little bit about himself.
Ciao sono Lorenzo Silvestri ho 18 anni, sono al quarto anno di liceo e skeito a Roma, nel flow di 7Hills . Mi piace molto skeitare per strada e in bowl, di solito skeito al ponte della musica uno spot d.i.y che si trova sotto un ponte accanto al tevere, vicino il foro italico. Li è dove mi incontro con i miei amici (Ramen boys), a volte rimaniamo li oppure ci moviamo per gli spot di Roma.
Hi I’m Lorenzo Silvestri, I’m 18 years old, I’m at the fourth year of liceo, and I skate in Rome as flow for 7Hills. I really enjoy street-skating and bowls. Usually I skate Ponte della Musica, a diy spot that’s located under a bridge near the river Tevere, also closeby Foro Italico. I meet my friends there (Ramen boys), we skate there for a while or we go to other spots in Rome.

Da poco sono stato a Napoli con i ragazzi di 7Hills per skeitare e filmare con i nostri amici di Napoli che saluto. Napoli e molto bella per skeitare, il mio spot preferito è il Centro Direzionale dove è strapieno di cose da skeitare. Puoi trovare di tutto: wallride, bank ,muretti. Napoli mi piace anche per la sua anarchia in certe cose, consiglio a tutti di andare a skeitarci e visitarla. Oltre allo skate mi piace il cinema, (Mark Gonzales ahahah) disegnare e scattare foto .
Recently I went to Napoli with 7Hills to skate and film with my Napoli friends, cheers to you! Napoli is amazing to skate, my favorite spot is Centro Direzionale, which is full of stuff. You can find anything: wallrides, banks, ledges. I also like Napoli for his anarchy in some things, I truly recommend going there and skate. Beside skating, I like cinema, Mark Gonzales, drawing and take photos.
