EDUCATION IS ON THE BALLOT Your VOTE is Your VOICE! To say the Republican Primary Election Runoff on August 23rd is a high stakes election would be a major understatement. Elections have consequences! Especially for public schools! It’s critically important every educator who is a registered Republican cast a ballot on August 23rd in the Republican Primary Runoff between Dr. April Grace and Sec. Ryan Walters. The winner will face Democrat, Jena Nelson, in the November General Election. It’s a busy time, which makes it even more important to plan ahead! ● ●

WHY IS THIS SO IMPORTANT?
HOW CAN I ADVOCATE? PLEASE DO!
There are ethics rules we must follow as school employees. However, this in no way prevents us from advocating on our PERSONAL TIME for candidates we support. Advocate for the candidate you support by: ● Changing your FB profile picture. ● Posting positive things on social media about the candidate you support and why. ● Signing up to volunteer with their campaign. ● Placing their sign in your yard if your neighborhood allows. ● Contacting family, friends, and colleagues on your PERSONAL time. Remind them to vote and share your opinions with them as a professional educator.
●
Most importantly…VOTE…IN EVERY SINGLE ELECTION!
WHAT SHOULD I NOT DO? NO-GO!
School Employees Should Avoid: ●
● ● ●
Posting or making contact relative to support/opposition of specific candidates/legislative issues on SCHOOL TIME or with SCHOOL EMAIL/PHONE. Posting in an unprofessional or inflammatory manner. Pressuring fellow staff members. Sharing their opinion as the district’s stance and not their own personal opinion.
We are here to help, so please reach out if you have any questions or concerns!
