Crazy to believe it is September; Home Show Contracts will be rolling out for 2024. We have so many events coming up Golf Tournament with the Calcutta September 14 & 16. Then following October 11 our next Women’s Night at the office; Ladies be sure to sign up.

t was so good to be able to visit and network with members at our Ribbon Cutting Social; thank you to all who attended, sponsors and Jay Mendel for cooking and doing the Fish Fry. We appreciate all the work that went into the great night to show off the remodel and we look forward to hosting more events at the office. Thanks to the staff for getting everything ready for a great night!

We have several other events coming up so mark your calendars for October 17 is our Election of Officers at the Alex Johnson starting at 5:30pm. This will be a full night as we will elect our 2024 slate of officers and the scholarship committee is hosting their annual silent auction fundraiser. All funds raised from the silent auction go to scholarship fund; it is fundraisers like these that make that possible, all funds donated are tax deductible. Other future events are the November 21st Social & Installation 2024 Officers and Awards. Last event of the 2023 year will be December 12th our Christmas Social.

Are you looking for more from your membership? I highly encourage you to join one our committees that’s where the ground work begins. We are always looking for new members to join this helps grow the committees stronger and our association; whether it is scholarship, membership, pub crawl or one of the many others we have something for everyone. Please call the office for more information and get on one today.

As we start to plan the end of the year and look into 2024 think about who you could invite to come to a social or who could join a committee. Do you have new ideas, come and share? Talk to someone who isn’t a member and ask them to join and get a spike point.

August 2023 Open Enrollment for the South Dakota Home Builder’s Association Health Plan has come and gone, but not without it’s share of milestones.

The past and continued success within the program has afforded members the opportunity to be given Composite Rates starting Aug 2023, meaning a simplified and more competitive premium moving forward for members and employers alike.

The State Association officially crossed the 250 member’s enrolled level as well, with 5 new employer Chapter members joining their local HBA to gain access to these incredible benefit plans.

Last but not least, we’ve recently partnered with our local Aflac offices in order to provide an additional layer of Employer Benefits to an already awesome membership. We’re hopeful this will give members and employers alike an additional resource for finding protection and help when they need it most.
