Dear Association Members,
I hope this letter finds you well as we embrace the full force of summer It is with deep gratitude that I extend my thanks to each and every one of you for your unwavering support of the BHHB cause. Over the past few months, we have experienced a significant increase in membership, which is a testament to the strength and commitment of our community. In this newsletter, you will find a comprehensive list of upcoming events, and I strongly encourage all members to take advantage of these opportunities to expand your network. Mark your calendars for our next social gathering on July 16th at the BHHB office - I look forward to seeing all of you there.
Recently, I had the privilege of attending the NAHB Spring Meeting and Legislative Conference in Washington DC This invaluable experience allowed us to engage with our Senators and Congress representatives on Capitol Hill, discussing the pressing issues faced by the building industry Throughout the conference, we had the opportunity to meet with Senator Rounds, Senator Thune, and Congressman Johnson, urging them to address the challenges that have contributed to the nation's housing affordability crisis We discussed various topics, including workforce concerns, the electrical transformer shortage, and the 2021 energy code It is through these dialogues that we hope to find solutions that benefit us all
I am delighted to announce the newest addition to our exceptional team - Kaitlyn Sandland Kaitlyn joins us as the Government Affairs and Workforce Director. You will find detailed reports from her in the newsletter and email blasts bi-weekly with Government updates. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Kaitlyn as we continue to strengthen our collective efforts.
Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to our dedicated staff and committees who tirelessly invest their time and energy in our community. It is through their hard work and commitment that we are witnessing positive developments. As we navigate through the summer months, I remain hopeful for favorable building conditions and opportunities for enjoyment along the way.
Thank you again for your continuous support Together, we can make a lasting impact on the building industry

Dear Black Hills Homebuilders Association Members,
Can you believe that we are already halfway through the year? Time flies when you're accomplishing great things! I wanted to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude for your membership and your unwavering support in driving our association towards its goals
One of our main objectives this year has been to enhance the benefits we offer to our valued members. We are proud to share that we have been making significant strides in this area. Our recent luncheon learns have been immensely valuable, providing educational opportunities that benefit all members. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors who have generously made these events possible. I will continue updating what we have offered in the Oh Snap section of this newsletter! Make sure to get the most out of your membership!
Looking ahead, we are excited about our upcoming initiatives to raise funds for our workforce and scholarship committee Through these efforts, we aim to continue awarding scholarships to the children of our members and those pursuing a career in the homebuilding industry Your support in these endeavors is crucial, and we encourage you to reach out and contribute in any way you can We are thrilled to announce that we will be working closely with our new Government Affairs Director to advocate for the needs of our industry. Our aim is to have a better understanding of upcoming legislative changes and to be a valuable resource for our builder members during times of transition. By actively engaging in government affairs, we can ensure that the voice of the Black Hills Homebuilders Association is heard, and our interests are protected.
Additionally, we are excited to continue our partnership with the Boys & Girls Club. Through this collaboration, we aim to inspire and engage young minds, sparking an interest in the trades. By exposing children to the opportunities and rewards of the homebuilding industry, we can help shape the future workforce and ensure its continued growth and success
Furthermore, I personally invite each and every one of you to connect with me I am eager to get to know you better, understand your goals, and explore how our association can provide you with the resources and support you need. Together, we can strengthen our community and drive the success of the Black Hills Homebuilders Association.
Thank you once again for your continued membership, active participation on committees, and invaluable contributions. Let's make the second half of this year even more remarkable than the first!
