Dear Home Builder Members,
I am beyond thrilled to share with you the amazing news that we were able to raise over $87,000 during our annual pub crawl event this month! This incredible amount will be given back to two deserving families in need, thanks to the generosity and support of our members and community
I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who donated items, volunteered their time, and showed up to make the event a huge success It is truly heartwarming to see how we can come together and make a real difference in the lives of others.
I am also excited to announce that our upcoming Home Show on March 22 to 24 will be the biggest show we have ever had, with booth space selling out by mid-February. I invite you all to come and visit the exhibits showcasing the construction industry and all that the Black Hills has to offer. It will be a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn, and explore.
I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know more of you at the Home Show. Please do stop by and introduce yourself – I would love to chat and hear your thoughts and ideas.
Thank you once again for your continued support and commitment to making our community a better place Together, we can achieve great things!
Warm regards,

The Importance of Yearly Insurance Coverage Reviews: Protecting What Matters Most
As life progresses and circumstances change, it's crucial to regularly review your insurance policies and coverages. Just as our lives evolve, so do our insurance needs. Taking the time to assess and update your insurance coverage annually can provide peace of mind and ensure you have adequate protection for what matters most Here's why it's essential to make yearly insurance reviews a priority:
1. Life Changes: Over the course of a year, many significant life events can occur, such as getting married, having a child, buying a new home, or starting a business These life changes can impact your insurance needs. For example, you may need to update your auto insurance to include a new driver or increase your homeowners insurance to cover valuable possessions Regularly reviewing your policies allows you to adjust your coverage accordingly
2. Policy Updates: Insurance policies and regulations can change over time. By reviewing your policies yearly, you can ensure that you are aware of any updates or changes in terms, coverage limits, or exclusions Staying informed about these changes can help you make informed decisions and avoid any gaps or surprises in coverage.
3 Cost Savings: Over time, insurance needs and rates can change By reviewing your policies annually, you can identify opportunities to potentially save money This may include exploring new discounts, adjusting deductibles, or comparing quotes from different insurance providers to find more competitive rates.
4 Coverage Gaps: Without regular reviews, you may unknowingly have coverage gaps that leave you vulnerable to financial risks. By carefully assessing your policies, you can identify any areas where additional coverage may be needed. This could include adding umbrella liability insurance, purchasing flood insurance, or considering specialized coverage for unique assets or risks.
5 Peace of Mind: Insurance is designed to provide financial protection and peace of mind Regularly reviewing your coverage ensures that you have the appropriate level of protection for your changing circumstances. This knowledge can bring reassurance, knowing that you are adequately prepared for unexpected events. To conduct a thorough insurance review, consider reaching out to an insurance professional who can provide guidance based on your specific needs They can help you evaluate your policies, identify potential gaps, and recommend appropriate coverage adjustments.
5.
Remember, life is ever-changing, and your insurance coverage should adapt alongside it By making yearly insurance reviews a habit, you can ensure that your coverage remains upto-date, protecting you, your loved ones, and your assets from potential risks.
Sincerely,
Amber Underwood-State Farm

PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY SOLUTION
West River, SD- Are you experiencing numbness, tingling, or pain in the hands and feet? Are you finding it difficult to balance and have a fear of falling? It’s possible you have Peripheral Neuropathy which is caused by nerve damage.
Over time our nerves experience a loss of blood supply from constriction which leads to degeneration. A damaged nerve will start to send abnormal signals to the brain which will bring sensations of burning, tingling, and intense pain. Further, more serious progression of nerve damage will present as numbness. If the sensation loss is found in the feet, the serious risk of falling becomes more prevalent. Nerve damage in your hands could lead to weaken grip and dropping things.
Goals of Treatment:
1) Increase Blood Flow
2) Stimulate Nerve Fibers
3) Decrease Pain
Figure 1 provides a visual of what happens when the blood vessels that surround the nerve become constricted and shrivel up. This prevents the nerve from getting the blood supply and nutrients it needs to survive. As these nerves begin to degenerate it leads to Peripheral Neuropathy.
The problem is you may have been told your options are either to just live with it or take prescription drugs that may temporarily reduce your symptoms but come with uncomfortable and serious side effects.
Our treatments return blood flow and nutrients to the effected area to stimulate the growth and repair of blood vessels and peripheral nerves.
Now for some good news. There is a facility right here in Rapid City, SD that offers hope for relief without having to take drugs with harmful side effects.
Three Factors to Effectively Treat Neuropathy:
1) Find the Underlying Cause
2) Evaluate the amount of nerve damage
3) Determine the amount of treatment required
The only way to determine the amount of treatment needed for nerves to recover is to run a painless, detailed neurological and vascular evaluation. There is still hope even if you have sustained 95% nerve damage.
Dr. Ariann Wolff, DACM at West River Acupuncture and Wellness, will perform a neuropathy severity examination to determine the extent of the nerve damage, which consists of detailed sensory and vascular testing along with an analysis of neurological findings.
We will be offering this $150 examination for $40 to the first 20 patients who mention this ad To ensure quality of care Dr Wolff has made the difficult decision to accept only 10 new Peripheral Neuropathy patients a month Call TODAY to get your life back

From the Health Insurance Desk…
A new year is upon, as we see 2023 in the rear-view mirror and start making our plans for what 2024 has in store. Unfortunately for a lot of us, the winter months bring one particular season we could ALL do without, cold and flu season.
As the SD HBA health plan memberships nears 350 members enrolled, I want to take this brief time to remind all those members (and those of you still on the fence) of the benefits available to them to help combat the sick days and keep them out of the doctor’s office and on the job.
Along with including Preventative Services on all plan designs so members can get their annual checkups and immunizations, the Wellmark PPO benefit w/ the SD HBA also includes a telehealth appointment service called ‘Doctors on Demand’. In what amounts to a Facetime or video call, members are able to speak with a real Doctor or provider, 24/7, without ever having to leave the house or job site. From Urgent Care issues like cold/flu, coughs, UTIs, COVID, pink eye, to mental health treatments for anxiety, depression, stress, mood disorders, Doctors on Demand gives you the convenience of 24/7 care, without having to spend hours in waiting rooms or missing w ork.
So, whether you know what you’ve got and just need a prescription called into the Pharmacy to avoid that 10pm trip to the ER or need the convenience of professional medical help at the tips of your fingers, Doctors on Demand is yet another incredible benefit that makes our SD HBA health plan a cut above the rest
Measure twice, cut once, and keep the sneezes in your sleeve

FOR CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS
As a construction industry professional, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment is of utmost importance. One way to uphold these standards is by being prepared for a visit from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
1. Stay Informed:
Keeping up-to-date with OSHA regulations and guidelines is essential. Familiarize yourself and your team with the current safety standards relevant to your construction site. Regularly check for updates on OSHA's website or attend training sessions to stay informed about any changes in regulations.
2. Train Your Team:
Proper training is crucial in maintaining a safe workplace. Ensure that all employees are trained in OSHA standards, as well as specific safety protocols relevant to their roles. Conduct regular safety meetings, provide necessary safety gear, and encourage open communication to address any concerns or potential hazards.
3. Establish Documentation Protocols:
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation is vital during an OSHA site visit. Keep records of safety training sessions, safety inspections, incidents, and any corrective actions taken. Ensure that these records are easily accessible and organized, as they may be requested during the inspection.
4. Conduct Regular Self-Audits:
Take a proactive approach by conducting regular self-audits to identify potential safety violations or non-compliance issues. By identifying and addressing these issues internally, you can rectify them before an OSHA inspection takes place. Regular selfaudits demonstrate your commitment to safety and can help prevent serious violations.
5. Designate an OSHA Liaison:
Appoint a knowledgeable person within your organization to act as the OSHA liaison. This individual should be well-versed in OSHA regulations, procedures, and documentation requirements. Their role would include coordinating with OSHA officers during the visit, accompanying them on the site, and addressing any questions or concerns raised.
6. Prepare Your Site:
Prior to the anticipated OSHA visit, ensure that your construction site is wellmaintained and organized. Keep walkways clear, maintain proper signage, and ensure that safety equipment and personal protective gear are readily available. Regularly inspect your site for potential hazards and address them promptly.
7. Communicate with Employees:
Open communication with your employees is crucial. Inform your team about the upcoming OSHA visit and emphasize the importance of adhering to safety protocols. Encourage them to report any safety concerns promptly and provide a platform for anonymous reporting if needed.
Being well-prepared for an OSHA site visit is essential for construction industry professionals. Remember, prioritizing safety not only helps you comply with regulations but also creates a secure working environment for your employees.
