FOR TEENS We may be having to celebrate our summer in a little different way this year, but that won’t stop teens from enjoying awesome activities based on the theme of “Imagine Your Story!” For certain programs, we will be offering free supply kits in limited quantities, so you will have to register at https:// weatherfordpubliclibrarytx.eventbrite.com to reserve your free “to go” packet.* Video presentations will all be on www.facebook.com/WeatherfordPL/. Please carefully check the individual descriptions for details. While anyone is welcome to watch our Facebook presentations, “to go” packets for programs will only be available for ages 12-18. Storyteller Gary Whitaker This year’s summer theme is all about stories, so let’s kick it off with an offering of fantasy tales from professional storyteller Gary Whitaker. Will we hear tales of knights, wizards, fairies, dragons, mermaids, or unicorns? Be sure to join us to find out what surprises Gary has in store! Live presentation: Monday, June 8th, 2:30 p.m. Cosplay Creations Have you ever been so engrossed in a story that you want to bring it to life? Cosplay is a great way to let your imagination loose! Cosplayers will present ideas and inspiration for ways to create props for your favorite role! Video presentation: Monday, June 15th, 2:30 p.m. Mermaid & Dragon Eggs - *Registration Required* Mythical creatures are fantastic, but did you ever dream of where they came from? If they hatched from eggs, wouldn’t those be fabulous capsules? We will let our imaginations take flight, or make a splash, when we create our own dragon or mermaid eggs. Dragon Eyes - *Registration Required* Beguiling and intriguing to behold – Dragon Eyes! We will be painting on glass cabochons to create our own hypnotic dragon eyes, which can then be used to create jewelry or add embellishment to any item that needs a mysterious touch! Registration will open on Eventbrite on Tuesday, June 23th at 4:00 p.m. Demonstration video: Monday, July 6th, 2:30 p.m. Wildlife On The Move Sometimes imagining our story brings us into contact with unknown creatures. We may wonder, “Why do they look and act the way they do?” Wildlife On The Move’s Mr. B will present “Amazing Adaptations” to help us explore the remarkable realm of animal life. Live presentation: Monday, July 13th, 2:30 p.m. Fairy-Scapes - *Registration Required* Have you ever been fascinated by the tiny habitats where fairies and gnomes might dwell? We will be imagining our own fairy-scapes that will make delightful ornaments for your room. Who knows? Maybe a real fairy will feel right at home? Registration will open on Eventbrite on Tuesday, July 7th at 4:00 p.m. Demonstration video: Monday, July 20th, 2:30 p.m. Imagine Your Escape! - *Registration Required* Before we pull the drawbridge up on our summer adventures, we must use our wits and imagination to escape a mysterious lair. Will we have to outwit wizards or outmaneuver magical creatures? Find out when you accept the challenge to Imagine Your Escape! Registrants will receive a packet of puzzles and clues to unlock the code to escape!
