For us, the product is what matters, not the signature. For us, function, quality and environment are just as important as the product’s appearance. We often say that design is not just what you see, because what you see is the result of a long design process. The designers we choose to work with should be as captivated by analysis and questioning as we are and prepared to go all the way to achieve the best result for the product. The design philosophy of Blå Station is to offer an alternative to what is already available. It’s about researching the potential of future design here and now. Blå Station don’t hesitate to experiment and venture into unknown territory. No wonder then that Blå Station takes on seemingly impossible challenges both technically and commercially. Our quest for design that interprets the present and points to the future has challenged us to an intense battle with advanced technology and genuine materials since 1986. Still a family business, we love to immerse ourselves in innovative technology and sustainable development while looking for the not yet done, the yet to be discovered. We are driven by a desire to produce furniture that we ourselves like and believe deserves to be on the market. Here you find a few stories about our modular sofas.

All we need are cushions! A big one to sit on and a cushion to lean your back against, and maybe a cushion to rest your arm on. It would be nice if that was all, because cushions have nice shapes, square yet rounded. Dunder X are cushions. Cushions to provide comfort in any environment. All you need to add is yourself and perhaps even more cushions.
A soft shape made up of cushions and connectable sections – friendly and inviting. Dunder X is modular and can be changed to suit any setting you want. You can add Dunder X sections as you wish, back-to-back or front to back, as both the back and armrests fit within the total surface of the seat. Turn and twist and combine according to your own taste. All we need are cushions!
Steel frame with nozag springs. Moulded polyurethane foam upholstered with fabric or leather. Chromed steel frame (chrome III). Plastic feet. Link device included with each add-on section. Updated 2025 without buttons in the cushions. Covered buttons are optional.
Dunder X is an extendable modular sofa that adapts easily and elegantly to the setting in which it is used. Dunder X modular seating consists of five different sections – middle, corner, left and right armrest and a footstool. Dunder X is also available as an easy chair.

The Flying Carpet
UNIT X has been designed with two key features in mind, to adapt to different architectural spaces. The first is that it gives a light impression and let the light flow in the room. With its thin seat cushion held by a frame configured in horizontal and vertical lines, UNIT X gives the impression of floating above the floor without disturbing the space itself, just existing in its own place. The second feature is the configuration in a square grid. The square of the module and the vertical frame fit with a variety of architectural structures with a floating presence like a flying carpet. When the square units of Unit X are connected one by one, with a variety of different colours, they create an interesting union with the surrounding space. The square grid also allows each unit to be arranged variably across and lengthwise, making UNIT X perfect for many different spaces; large, small, wide, narrow, public and home. Don’t let the thinness of UNIT X make you think that it’s at the expense of the comfort, it is not!

Meet RUT, a square sofa system. Causal and inviting or sober and formal. RUT seems like a familiar acquaintance but is a completely new companion. Optimal solution for a relaxed space in one direction: perfect for reading a book, surfing the web, having a meeting, chatting with friends. RUT is all about flexibility and will favor slowness and long-lasting comfort as well as allowing for occasional seating. Build a long straight sofa with armrests, writing pads and electricity or adapt it open and inviting with as few additions as possible. Double the width with a causal side to nestle in, and a stricter front for a short stay on the go. Compose and rearrange according to functional and aesthetic needs. RUT offers an elegant contrast between soft, comfortable and generous seating modules, and a robust exposed linear base made of a steel H-beam resting on two or more solid oak blocks. Assemble as many squares as needed. Turn them to the right, to the left or all the way around to offer different seating options, secure with two bolts. RUT supersoft contract areas to serious working or hospitality areas. All existing parts can be rearranged and everything you want to add you can be do later.

Some furniture wants to get out in the sun. Ironically, Park+ does the opposite by moving the outdoors indoors. Park+ brings people together. You can sit alone and wait, rest or chat with friends, read a newspaper, work on your laptop... all with the same easy-going freedom as on a park bench. Inspired by the Latin countries where the piazza is a natural reference point in both small and large cities, Italian design trio CMP have created a completely flexible seating system that infuses a sense of Scandinavian informal relaxation outdoors into indoor public spaces.
Start-sections contains of 2 gables. The start-section is also a standalone product.
Extension sections contains of only 1 gable, can only be used in combination with a start-section.

The interlinking table connects 2-seaters, 3-seaters and individual chairs, for you to arrange in place.

A sofa system providing almost unlimited options. 2016, Johan Lindau, CEO and design manager for Blå Station, challenged designers Thomas Bernstrand & Stefan Borselius with a question: Would it be possible to make a modular sofa that allows maximum flexibility with a minimum of components? And at a reasonable price? We wanted the sofa system to fit all spaces, from the airport, via the hotel to the office and home, and it would need to be produced and transported smartly and sustainably with quality down to the smallest detail. The BOB journey started in 2017 with 6 moulded parts combined into 10 sections and is now a sofa system that provides almost unlimited options, constructed with the minimum number of modules possible. BOB is an easy to understand and extremely flexible sofa system. Where conventional sofas are usually rectangular, square and predictable, BOB offers the architectural freedom to either challenge or adhere to any type of space. BOB – when your imagination is the limit.
