THERE IS A DISTINCT BEAUT Y IN STORMY WEATHER, AND THE COLORS THAT EMERGE ARE NOT HING SHORT OF SPECTACULAR.

Rachael Sirois of Farrissey Floral Design drew inspiration from the vibrant whaling history of the city of New Bedford and the surrounding sea views from The New Bedford Whaling Museum to create the perfect setting for a wedding in the newlyopened Harbor View Gallery. Its private terrace was the ideal location for an intimate lounge area overlooking the harbor. Inside, a wall of floor-toceiling windows cast natural light on a solid wood table decorated with glass pedestals overflowing with white peonies and greenery which appeared as if they were blowing in the ocean breeze. Sirois described, “No detail went unexplored. Our use of glass elements throughout the tablescape gave a nod to the local history and the glass museum around the corner. This styled wedding shoot was inspired not only by the colors of stormy seas, but by the rich culture of New Bedford and the timeless charm of the city and its heritage.

It is helpful in achieving deeper levels of consciousness and being in the present moment; a mantra that was very important to Katie and Simon on their wedding day, and led them to make the deep blue hue the foundation of their design. Inspired by all the natural surroundings of Elihu Island, the couple wanted everything to be organic from color to details. There were many handmade details such as the dip-dyed shibori fabric table runners, napkins, and curtains in rich indigo. “Everything was custom designed in a collaborative manner to help reflect our love, and the island where we would celebrate that. There was a natural theme throughout that gently wove together the color palette and energy we wished to be present on the day of our wedding,” Katie explained. Her bouquet was lush with greens, featuring touches of indigo and white blooms wrapped loosely with leather and fabric.

In Kendra’s favorite season, at their favorite hotel in Providence, Chris popped the question. From that moment, they knew they would have a city-chic wedding with a touch of bohemian flair in October. “Flowers by Semia, truly brought our vision to life. Behind our dessert table, they created a backdrop that was breathtaking in its originality and ability to showcase the gorgeous florals and color palette. It was the perfect culmination of all the different colors, textures, and materials of our wedding in one display,” Kendra raved. Each table lent itself to its own unique décor. Unexpected design elements like antlers were paired with botanicals and bark. Geodes served as table numbers and agate slices were used as escort cards. Even the invitation suite designed by The Paper Perfectionist set the tone of the day precisely with a watercolor bohemian-floral motif.

from the floor-to-ceiling windows flooded the event space on a beautiful spring afternoon. Twinkling chandeliers softened the exposed wooden beams, reclaimed barn wood and natural wine barrels, setting a rustic tone for the day. Color was very important to the bride as the grape vines and trees hadn’t bloomed in the vineyard yet. “I wanted something that would pop!” Meghan exclaimed. Each of the floral arrangements were slightly different from one another to create a more organic and relaxed ambiance. Mixed matched votive candles surrounded each centerpiece warming the table and adding a little sparkle. “We love hosting parties at our home and wanted our wedding décor to be a reflection of our personalities,” Meghan said. The night ended with delectable desserts and lots of dancing!

C AST LE HILL IN T HE SPRING WAS A DREAM COME T RUE FOR PJ AND DARYL.

The soft colors of the season inspired their décor and established the ambiance for the day. The trellis on the back lawn, overlooking the ocean where the ceremony was held, was full of an array of pink blooms and spring greenery. “Semia Dunne, of Flowers by Semia, fully understood our vision. She was just as excited as we were every step of the way until the day of our wedding,” PJ said. The interior of the tent was transformed into an ethereal springtime garden. Blush draping and twinkling chandeliers from Exquisite Events set the stage for floral extravagance. The chandeliers were adorned with lush greenery dangling delicately over two massive gold urns that were overflowing with spring flowers. Smaller blush and white arrangements lined the long head table and were centered on the smaller round tables. The newlyweds enjoyed dinner beside their guests in chiffon and floral covered chairs.

to choose her own gown, resulting in clean, simple silhouettes in an array of pink and violet. The Taj Boston hotel, where the couple was married, offers sweeping views of the Boston Public Garden which inspired Chelsea to bring the garden elements indoors. The ceremony space was transformed with lush petals in violet and magenta that covered the aisle leading up to the custombuilt arbor designed by the Flowers by Semia team. Clear vases topped with floral spheres anchored each row of seats, adding to the indoor garden feel. The all-orchid bouquet that Chelsea carried down the aisle symbolized all the values in her and Jordan’s relationship: love, admiration, dignity, and strength. The modern ballroom inside the Taj Boston was filled with tall gold vessels bursting with soft blooms completing the captivating garden look.

SAGE, CERULEAN & CORAL A L AT E S U M M E R W E D D I N G O N T H E C U S P O F AUTUMN, INSPIRED A COLOR STORY THAT BLENDED THE SEASONS. In the same location where the bride’s parents

had been married 30 years prior, a clear-top tent from Chase Canopy was transformed into a magical forest. The couple called on Allison Wildes Liset from Elegant Engagements to source the talent for the day. Sayles Livingston Design created floral trees in rich green hues with touches of coral that decorated each long table. “Our florist, Sayles Livingston, did a great job of interpreting our request for lush arrangements with interesting and unusual accents,” the bride raved. As a nod to the salt marshes and Nantucket sound that surrounded them, real scallop shells, that were collected on the beach by the bride’s parents, decorated each place setting. Cerulean was introduced into the color story through linens and the bridesmaid dresses, complementing the palette perfectly. Twinkling lights strung above completed the magical forest vibe.

BOSTON HARBOR HOT EL’ S UN PARALLELED VIEWS OF THE CITY'S HARBOR, FIT PERFECTLY WITH LAURA’S LONGTIME LOVE OF PALE BLUE AND GRAY. When developing the color story for her wedding, Laura wanted to keep it classic and enhance the beauty surrounding the Boston Harbor Hotel. Round tables in crisp white linen accompanied by white chiavari chairs filled the ballroom. Soft, champagne-hued arrangements with touches of pale blue flora brought color and dimension to the table design. Floorto-ceiling, 360 degree windows allowed beautiful, natural light to flood the ballroom and made the guests feel as though they were dining outdoors. Every area of the Boston Harbor Hotel provided a breathtaking backdrop for photos from the rotunda, to the iconic arch, to the grand staircase beneath the dome skylight. The color story was consistent through all elements of the day including the wedding cake prepared by the hotel’s catering team.

Countless rows of blush chiffon draping covered the ceiling, while crystal chandeliers illuminated the fabric, casting an ethereal glow on the tables below. Lauren and Sean’s dream of a New York glam meets Palm Beach-chic wedding was coming true. It was very important to them that everything felt warm, soft, and inviting, which is why they chose a color palette of neutrals. “Maggie and Katie at Slainte Event Planning & Design understood what we wanted from the very beginning and introduced us to fabulous vendors who were able to bring our vision to life. Ryan Designs brought in drapery, bars, and chandeliers which helped tie everything together and provide the ethereal feel we wanted,” Lauren described. INSPIRED BY THE WARM COLORS AND CACTI OF CALIFORNIA, T HE F LOWERS BY SEMIA T EAM HOST ED A BABY SHOWER FOR ONE OF T HEIR OWN. To honor fellow floral designer and mom-to-be,

Stephanie Gallo, Semia Dunne transformed her studio into a sophisticated space for a celebration. Succulents and cacti filled shimmery gold and sleek white vessels, while aloe plants laid loosely on the table created a raw landscape. Many of the floral arrangements were clean and simple featuring one outstanding bloom. Tropical produce, like papaya and star fruit, added a vibrant pop of color and complemented the poppies and ranunculus. “We basically wanted to take all of the mom-to-be’s favorite things and put them on one table. The poppies were perfection—tissue paper ruffles for days!” Dunne exclaimed. Cocktail napkins in gold geometric prints paired perfectly with the gold flatware and textured metal chargers provided by Peterson Party Center. The table was centered under a large modern installation that looked like an adult mobile, adding a touch of whimsy to the intimate gathering.

A F RESH TAKE ON AN AUT UMNAL COLOR PALET T E IS BROUGHT TO LIF E T HROUGH ELEGANT FLORA AND DELICIOUS CULINARY C RE AT IONS FOR T HIS ST YLED SHOOT AT WATERMAN GRILLE. Inspired by the autumn-kissed

sea grass that surrounded the terrace at Waterman Grille, Kim Lamothe of Greenlion Design began envisioning her arrangements. “We included worn gold, berries, vines, and subtle shades of turned witch-hazel leaves to add soft yellow to the cream blooms,” she described. Billowy ivory chiffon draping fashioned by Ryan Designs encircled the terrace for the ceremony overlooking the river. Golden sea grass and wooden benches lined the aisle that was embellished with a beautiful oriental rug. The view was just as gorgeous from the dining room, where floor-to-ceiling windows flooded the space with a serene glow. The inviting table was set with sky blue linen from Be Our Guest, earthy floral arrangements, and dark blue tapers. A savory four-course dinner prepared by the Waterman Grille, featured fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and exhibited all the restaurant’s culinary talents.

T HE DAT E OF DANIKA AND KEVIN’S WEDDING, NEW YEAR’S EVE, LENT IT SELF TO A GLIT ZY WINT ER COLOR STORY. The navy and gold damask printed walls of the event

space at the Hotel Viking in Newport, RI inspired the rest of the wedding décor. Wintery arrangements of fresh juniper and ivory flora decorated every table. Votive candles floated in water-filled vessels varying in height; illuminating the winter flora and glittery table runners. For a touch of whimsy, retro gold alarm clocks were placed on every table and set to go off at the stroke of midnight. “Our vendors were all so great to work with. From our florist, Botanica Wedding Studio, to our coordinator at Hotel Viking, we were able to work with each one of them closely and discuss the vision that we had,” Danika exclaimed. A scrumptious cake from Konditor Meister capped off the night in the sweetest way.

Stephanie imagined a classic summer wedding that she could look back on in fifty years and still love her gown, flowers, and décor. “When we first visited the Providence Biltmore, we knew instantly that we wanted to have our reception in the Grand Ballroom. The beauty of the ballroom speaks for itself and we knew we would be able to create a classic, timeless feel for our wedding,” said Stephanie. Gold linen covered every table complementing the gilded architecture of the Grand Ballroom. Blush and cream roses romanced the room with their light summery scent. The day was perfect and its enduring style will be remembered for years to come.

Alexa was always inspired by the airy beauty of springtime in Boston; especially in the Boston Public Garden. She knew she wanted her wedding day to be filled with spring flowers, but the focal point to be cherry blossom branches. Maria Simpson and Janie Haas of Janie Haas Events brought Alexa’s magical vision to life. The couple was married under a stunning arch of cherry blossom branches. Guests mingled during cocktail hour in a swanky event lounge designed by Reserve Modern Event Rental. Gold crown chairs anchored a creamy white linen loveseat and hexagonal metal cocktail tables where guests could rest their feet comfortably. In the ballroom, awe-inspiring cherry blossom branches and spring greenery emerged from crystal vases, while driftwood and candles in mercury glass vessels were scattered throughout, completing the romantic décor.

perfect time of year when autumn had arrived, but the colors and feel of summer hadn’t quite been blown away. Because she grew up only minutes from The Nonantum, Hannah knew it had that ideal mix of atmosphere and nostalgia she was looking for. “My favorite thing about Kennebunk is no matter the season you absolutely feel embraced by its quaint, but undeniably charming New England feel,” said Hannah. Large stone urns overflowing with greenery, swirly branches, and creamy white flowers decorated the ceremony aisle outside, while blush and champagne hued flowers filled the resort inside. Each table’s centerpiece was slightly different from the next, from the flowers to the mercury glass vases that held them. The mixed matched trend continued with the bridesmaids in their pale pink dresses with varying necklines. Their creamy white bouquets completed the look while still complementing the bride perfectly.

her wedding day to be filled with romance in the most sophisticated way. The beautiful venue they chose, rich in history and architecture, lent itself to that. Lush blooms filled the mansion, and creamy white and rosy pink floral spheres were perched upon clear glass vessels giving the illusion that they were floating. “My vendors were all lovely; however, I would have to rave the most about our florist, Giti Gerami of Botanica Wedding Flowers. The flowers were a very important part of the décor because the fluffy pinks and soft greens helped create the romantic look we were going for,” Elisabeth exclaimed. Pops of gold in the lighting, stationery, and chiavari chairs created a warm and inviting atmosphere, adding to the romance of the day.

BLUSH & GRAPHITE A ROMANTIC COLOR STORY OF GRAPHITE, BLUSH, AND ANTIQUE WHITE ADDED ROMANCE TO THE SAYBROOK POINT INN & SPA FOR YUNA AND BARRETT’S WEDDING.

Blush was the anchor of the color palette that the couple chose for their day and it was visible everywhere, from the attire to the paper goods. “Blush is a popular color in weddings so we worked hard to use it in a way that was a bit different and more personal to the couple. Silver and gray added just the right amount of glamour and elegance that Yuna was searching for, while still maintaining an overall romantic vibe,” event designer Libby Basile of Jubilee Events explained. As a nod to Yuna’s Japanese culture, Coral Pheasant created a custom orchid motif that lined the envelopes of the invitation suite. The orchid theme continued in the fl oral design. White orchids cascaded down from tall arrangements and were neatly tucked into smaller vases that featured blush peonies. Yuna’s breathtaking orchid bouquet was the crown jewel of the overall design.

first venue we visited and as soon as we walked out we knew that’s where we would be getting married,” Mariely described. The couple’s color story developed through the vision of a modern, romantic wedding with a touch of Hollywood glamour and Mariely’s love for blush pink and mint green. Soft lighting, blush linens, and floral sculptures created the illusion of an all-pink ballroom. Floral spheres in pink and champagne hues were dripping with crystals, adding that touch of glam Mariely had envisioned. Mint was tied in through the bridesmaids in their flowing chiffon gowns, contrasting beautifully with their blush bouquets. A custom boxwood hedge was decorated with bright summer flora and Mariely and Mike’s initials, making it the perfect spot for a photo-op for all in attendance.

ICE CREAM HUES CREAT ED A BRIGHT AND FUN MOOD FOR T HIS LAT E SUMMER WEDDING IN NARRAGANSET T, RI. Not only does The Dunes Club boast gorgeous beach views, but their colors, teal and white, contrasted flawlessly with Ellie’s favorite color: pastel green. To make sure the day went off without a hitch, Ellie sourced the talent of Emily Devaud of Em Devaud Events. Thoughtful details and color choices tied all of the elements of the wedding together. Ellie styled her bridesmaids in beautiful, pistachio chiffon gowns. She knew the color would look beautiful against the ocean as well as in the venue’s airy reception space. Natural light flooded the ballroom casting a warm summer glow on the pink and peach floral arrangements that lined the tables. Deep teal chairs and dinner plates provided a fun twist on the norm and brought out the greens in each floral arrangement. Happy memories were made and Erin McGinn captured every moment for the couple to cherish forever.

It was the ideal backdrop for the intimate wedding we were looking to create,” Alicia described. Natural light flooded the ballroom from the breathtaking dome glass ceiling above. Silver embroidered lace linen shimmered in the light making the bouquets of dahlias and roses glisten on every table. The color story continued with the bridesmaids and the adorable flower girl in their dusty rose gowns. A vision in white, Alicia completed the beauty of the bridal party in a classic Monique Lhuillier wedding gown.

RICH GREEN PAIRED WIT H BRIGHT FUCHSIA AND PURPLE CAME TOGET HER TO CREAT E AN ENCHANT ED FOREST FOR T HIS SPECIAL QUINCEANERA. For Jasmine’s special day she wanted a mystical enchanted

forest that truly represented her personality. Her family called on the talents of event designer Edna Dratch-Parker of EFD Creative–Event Planning & Design to bring her vision to life. “When creating an enchanted forest theme one could conjure up multiple looks, but because this was for a young lady we wanted the design to be clean and defined, but also create a magical and vibrant feeling,” Dratch-Parker explained. Box hedges lined the tent, making guests feel like they were wandering through a forest. Large silver urns were bursting with bright flora and earthy branches on each table. Mini spotlights peeked through patches of moss to illuminate every urn adding to the magical ambiance. The number cards on each table were branded with Jasmine’s first initial and explained the significance of the Quinceañera celebration. The theme was carried out flawlessly—right down to the delightful cake.

Lighting and candlelight made a huge impact, adding warmth to the overall look. Touches of bling showed off the couple’s fun, playful side,” Tasha Bracken of SD Events recalled. avid gardeners and took much pride in their designs, so it was no surprise when they had visions of creating an indoor garden oasis for their ceremony and reception. Lo McShay of Lo Lo Event Design partnered with Poppy Floral to bring their concept to life. Meghan Perlow of Poppy Floral created a breathtaking floral Chuppah comprised of over 400 roses in creamy purple and honey hues. As a nod to Zak’s Moroccan heritage, paper lanterns with laser-cut Moroccan motifs were hung outside on the terrace where cocktails were served following the ceremony. The floral extravagance continued into the ballroom where terracotta pots overflowing with flowers and greens were suspended above long mirrored tables. At the smaller tables, rose domes in three heights and shades added to the elegance of the room.

From the moment they became engaged, Jessica and Matthew knew they wanted an elegant tented wedding that was close to their hometown and provided in-house catering. The Crowne Plaza Warwick had all of the above and their search for the perfect venue was quickly over. “Exquisite Events helped us design the perfect floor plan for our reception. The chandeliers they installed added the perfect amount of regal elegance,” Jessica raved. Rose gold lace linens covered each round table, warming the space with

a pink glow. Tall floral spheres dripping with crystals were perched on golden candelabras at every other table, alternating with shorter arrangements to create depth and drama. The glamour and grace continued with the bridal party’s attire. Classic black tuxedos for the groomsmen and champagne sequin gowns with varying necklines for the bridesmaids, were just as the bride envisioned–timeless looks that would transcend any fashion, present or future.

Ashley knew she wanted her wedding to be filled with warmth and romance, so soft colors, low lighting, and a touch of Gatsby flair became the vision for the couple’s big day. “Kirkbrae Country Club was able to accommodate a large wedding while still giving that sense of intimacy we were looking for,” Ashley explained. Kirkbrae’s all white ballroom was beautifully transformed into an ornate setting. Crystal chandeliers illuminated the ballroom, which was filled with glowing candles of

varying heights, creating a warm and romantic environment for the evening. Tall crystal vases were topped with large floral spheres of lush, creamy blooms intertwined with crystal garland to make each centerpiece sparkle. The bridal party’s attire completed the theme. Ashley wore a timeless dress and long flowing veil, while her bridesmaids wore blush chiffon gowns in strapless silhouettes. They all carried pale pink and white bouquets to match.

Michael and Dan had a classic autumn wedding surrounded by the foliage-kissed White Mountains. Wanting their décor to harmonize with the colors of nature that surrounded them, Michael and Dan chose a classic color palette of white and gold. The gazebo, where the ceremony was held, was anchored by two oversized urns that were

bursting with pure white lilies. Inside the resort, crisp white linens were decorated with tall gold candelabras holding white and green floral arrangements. “The wedding coordinator at Mountain View Grand, Susan Powell, was instrumental in helping us with the food choices, table arrangements, and timeline of the day. She really did a great job,” Michael raved. “It was the perfect place for friends and family to come together and celebrate our wedding.”

The Roaring Twenties

A 1920’S THEMED GALA COMMEMOR ATED TWENTY YEARS OF SERVICE TO CHILDREN AND TEENS IN FOSTER CARE.

Foster Forward is an organization that ensures all children and youth in foster care have safe, healthy, and nurturing families and provides programs that promote empowerment. This year, their annual gala was held at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, where guests were transported back in time to the roaring twenties. The venue’s original history lends itself specifically to this time period, which made it the perfect place to hold this special event. Cool blue lighting, dance performances and the musical sounds of the twenties set the tone for the night.

Floral centerpieces bursting with feathers were set upon crystal vases to look as though they were floating over the tables. Smaller arrangements and crystal elements were mixed in to add sparkle and depth to the space. “The extravagant lighting by Ormonde Productions, period music and dancers, elegant tablescapes, and unique early American décor helped to transport our guests through back alleys to the opulence of the roaring twenties,” Christina Jagolinzer of Foster Forward described.

TWINKLING LIGHTS CREATE A POLISHED VIBE FOR THIS WATERFRONT WEDDING AT NEW ENGLAND AQUARIUM. When choosing a venue, Nicki knew she envisioned something other than a traditional ballroom, and she definitely wanted water views. The New England Aquarium was a perfect fit with its 270 degree water views and overall unique environment. “I didn’t want our wedding to be aquarium themed, because it would feel redundant. I also didn’t want our style choices to compete with the aquarium or the water views surrounding the tent,” Nicki explained. She hired the team at Lo Lo Event Design to develop a simple concept with elegant sparkle. Following a ceremony

overlooking Boston’s historic harbor, guests entered the white reception tent which was artfully transformed into a twinkling summer oasis. Greenery mixed with Edison bulbs hung from the ceiling making guests feel as if they were in a magical garden. Instead of traditional floral centerpieces, golden candelabras illuminated each table creating an intimate glow throughout the tent. As the night concluded, guests enjoyed delectable individual Boston cream pies crafted by the in-house culinary team at the aquarium.

Classic Cape Cod JUST STEPS FROM THE BE ACH, WILLOWBEND COUNTRY CLUB WAS THE PERFEC T VENUE FOR COLLEEN AND DAN TO SAY “I DO.”

Colleen dreamed of having an elegant Cape Cod wedding when she was a little girl. She loved the salty air and vast beaches and couldn’t wait to start planning this magical day. Colleen and Dan fell in love with Willowbend Country Club as easily as they fell in love with each other. “Between the lush landscape and the sounds of babbling water, there were plenty of amazing spots for photos. I particularly loved the veranda which offered sweeping views of the whole property. It was a

perfect spot for spending time with our family and friends during the cocktail hour,” Colleen described. The iconic red barn and its proximity to the beach provided Colleen and Dan with the Cape Cod charm they were looking for. The theme continued inside Willowbend’s classic, white dining room, which was filled with gorgeous arrangements of gold-painted willow branches and pink orchids in sparkling crystal vases, plus an abundance of natural sunlight.

Seaside Sophistication OCE AN VIEWS COMBINED WITH A MA JESTIC TENT AND SOF T SUMMER BLOOMS CRE ATE A L AID-BACK VIBE FOR THIS WEDDING AT CHATHAM BARS INN.

Every year since they began dating, Sarah and Jason retreated to Chatham Bars Inn for a mini vacation. So when Jason proposed, they already knew it would be the perfect location to celebrate. The vast tent from Sperry Tents became a blank canvas for the talents of event planner Tasha Bracken of SD Events. A mix of long and round farm tables were used to create dimension and allowed plenty of room for dancing. The tables were decorated with soft blush and cream blossoms expertly

arranged by Lilacs. For added sophistication and twinkle, crystal chandeliers were hung above the dance floor by Ormonde Productions. “SD Events really took our dreams for the wedding and made them a reality. Karen Taddei from Lilacs was also instrumental in the design and décor. Her flowers were absolutely stunning,” Sarah reminisced. Now, the couple will relive their happy memories and the magic of the day once a year on their annual visit to Cape Cod.

Winter Elegance

CRISP WINTER WHITES, COZ Y FURS, AND A TOUCH OF GOLD WARMED THE AIR AT QUIDNESSE T T COUNTRY CLUB FOR THIS LOVELY WEDDING.

During the first weekend of the new year, when everything and everyone was still aglow from the holidays, Shayla and Michael tied the knot. Their vision for an elegant winter wedding came to life through the crisp white floral arrangements and cozy details that enhanced the beautiful ballroom. The bridesmaids donned navy floor-length gowns providing contrast to the otherwise all-white color palette. “The Quidnessett Country Club

ballroom is so grand and spacious–the all-white theme really lightened the room! The beautiful view of the ocean provided a coastal feel that played up the white, gold and navy color palette,” Shayla described. Cascading orchids and gold candelabras adorned every table creating a warm and romantic ambiance for the evening. Guests sipped seasonally inspired cocktails while dancing the night away.

Supriya envisioned the day to be rich with culture; embodying all the traditions and customs of a Hindu wedding without being too over-the-top. The Charles Hotel was the best option for the couple, the ballroom is gorgeous and was able to accommodate all of their guests, most of which were from out of town. “The Charles Hotel had easy access to the JFK path where the wedding procession (Baraat), of the groom on a horse with friends and family, arrived

from. The path was secluded from traffic and gave an authentic and intimate feel to the ceremony and the festivities, Supriya reminisced. To create a fun vibe for the Sangeet (a celebration the night before the wedding), musical instruments and vibrant umbrellas were places on every table. The wedding ceremony was filled with the color red, as it symbolizes love, commitment, strength, and bravery in the Hindu culture.

Lauren and Jonathan wanted a traditional wedding with a color palette that reflected the summer season and details that were unique to them. “Harbor Lights is located on the water so we were able to incorporate the beauty of nature into our wedding.” Lauren explained. The breezy summer day started with a romantic outdoor ceremony overlooking the harbor and docks. The bridesmaids wore lavender chiffon dresses which perfectly complemented the

groomsmen’s indigo tuxedos. Following the ceremony, guests were ushered into a room flooded with natural light and breathtaking harbor views, where the reception would take place. Barbell escort cards let guests know where they were sitting; a unique touch since Lauren and Jonathan met at a crossfit gym. The couple celebrated their nuptials by dining on fine food and dancing the night away with their family and friends.

fter meeting in a library and planting roots in Boston, it only seemed fitting that this couple tie the knot at the Boston Public Library. “The Boston Public Library felt like the perfect place to come full circle on our wedding day. And we may be biased, but we also think it’s one of the most beautiful spots in town,” the bride described. The couple met in the fall so it felt fitting to get married in the fall too. They chose a beautiful warm, deep color palette accented with touches of gold and cream to create dimension and complement the stately architecture of the library. The idea was to create a wild garden vibe with overgrown arrangements scattered throughout the library so guests would feel the intimacy of the event. Low lighting and warm candlelight completed the look. A savory meal was served by The Catered Affair and ended with a three-tier wedding cake topped with fresh flowers.

rowing up summering in Little Compton, from a young age, Jessie always hoped to be married there. With 14 luxurious suites and sweeping coastal views, the Stone House was an easy choice for the couple because they had many guests coming in from out of town. The experts at Exquisite Events brought Jessie’s vision for a simple, yet elegant, wedding to life by sourcing all the right talent. Lush summer greens popped against a neutral palette of grey and ivory beneath the Sperry Tent just outside the Stone House, where the reception was held. A canopy of twinkling lights added just the right amount of sparkle to the overall design. espite spending most of their relationship moving around the country for work, Patrick and Matt had always felt like Providence was home. Drawn to the architectural elegance and historical elements of the Providence Public Library, they knew they had to have their wedding there. “The Providence Public Library provided such a beautiful back drop; we preferred to enhance its historic features with our décor and lighting as opposed to transforming it,” Patrick described. Nicole Simeral of Nicole Simeral & Company helped make their dream wedding a reality by developing a design and sourcing the talent to help execute it. Custom uplighting from Ormonde Productions illuminated a towering wishing tree where the ceremony was held. he most valuable piece of advice that Kim and Steve received was to stay true to themselves as a couple. As soon as they stepped into The Barns at Wesleyan Hills, they knew it was perfect for them. “It felt organic and represented who we are as a couple,” Kim reminisced. Looking beautiful in her Hayley Paige gown from The White Dress by the Shore, Kim made her way down the aisle to meet her groom under a flower-covered arch. Personal touches, like her bouquet wrapped with fabric from her mother’s wedding dress and her flower girls riding in an antique wagon that her late grandfather gave her as a child, made the ceremony unforgettable. The barn was dressed with elegant white draping and sparkling chandeliers, softening the exposed wood that surrounded them. Luckily, Jeanna was excited to work with elements like mirrored tables, ombré flowers, and striped napkins. It really helped to create a truly personalized look for them,” Home recalled. nspired by the colors of nature and the regal elegance of the Wadsworth Mansion, Jillian and Jon decided on a rich jewel-toned color story. Romantic bouquets of crimson, mauve, and champagne blooms looked as if they had been freshly picked from the grounds surrounding the mansion. As a nod to Jon’s favorite pastime of brewing beer, fresh hops were used in the boutonnieres, as well the bouquets and the ceremony backdrop. The exchange of vows took place amongst towering pine trees that were draped elegantly with soft fabric. Antique lanterns surrounded the area providing a subtle, romantic glow. As dinner concluded, the seven piece band changed tunes encouraging guests to dance on the terrace under the stars. The celebration ended with a surprise firework display that lit up the night sky.

Delaware natives John and Jen stumbled upon the Glen Manor House while on the hunt for a venue that reminded them of Italy. While they couldn’t orchestrate a destination wedding in Italy, they still wanted to bring that warmth and romance to a destination in the states and Glen Manor House had everything they had hoped for. Greenlion Design transformed the venue into an Italian villa with sprawling greens and wine-hued flora placed on mantels and tables. A five-course dinner prepared by Blackstone Caterers featured traditional Italian fare such as monkfish, roasted rapini, and pappardelle in a forest mushroom cream sauce. “The Glen Manor House provided a perfect backdrop for all of the gorgeous arrangements designed by the uber-talented Kim Lamothe of Greenlion Design. Blackstone Caterers meticulously crafted a truly atmospheric dinner, and it was all captured masterfully by our photographer, Rebecca Arthurs,” Jen gushed.

BACK YARD BLISS A home with an expansive lawn offered sweeping ocean views and evoked many childhood memories making it the perfect location for this Cape Cod wedding.

S

amantha grew up spending weekends at her family’s Cape Cod home in the quaint village of Cotuit. It was her home away from home and she never had any doubt that she wanted to be married there. The wedding décor was inspired by the town and the memories Samantha had built with her neighbors. She and Trevor were married beneath an arch of creamy white flora and rich summer greens on the lawn which overlooked the ocean. The reception was held on Samantha’s neighbor’s lawn, where she had attended weddings as a child. A majestic tent from Newport Tent was transformed into a summer ballroom fi lled with fresh flora and a very spacious dance floor. “Bill from Newport Tent was fantastic. He was very hands on and was out there each day helping his crew make sure the tent looked fabulous,” said Samantha. As the evening concluded, guests enjoyed a refreshing sorbet bar crafted by Max Ultimate Food.

fter visiting many Newport, RI wedding venues, Kelsey and Tom decided they wanted to be married in a private place that would feel like their own. They called on the talented team at Exquisite Events to help them plan and design their dream wedding. “Exquisite Events and their team were truly unbelievable. After my first meeting with them, I immediately knew that they were going to go above and beyond—and they defi nitely did,” Kelsey raved. A white tent from Newport Tent was constructed on the lawn of a private estate overlooking the ocean. Rich wooden floors, ivory chiffon draping, and twinkling chandeliers added a touch of formality to the space without compromising the vintage ambiance Kelsey and Tom were trying to achieve. Fresh garlands of greenery and lush white flowers, combined with vintage design elements, such as rustic chairs and hammered gold fl atware, perfected the look and feel of the day.

or most of Nicole and Kevin’s guests this was a destination wedding, so the couple wanted it to feel like a vacation. “Newport has charm like no other city and The Bohlin was the perfect combination of great views and delicious food. The event manager walked through everything with us from our menus to furniture and linen options, provided suggestions for other vendors, and always answered my questions quickly and gracefully,” Nicole explained. One of those suggestions was floral designer Sayles Livingston. Her team created a breathtaking trellis made of driftwood and draped with beautiful summer blooms. The airy ambiance extended into the majestic Sperry tent where dinner was held. Pale blue linens were accented with bright floral arrangements in pinks and yellows, while ivory draping resembled the flowing sails on the boats in the marina.

A clean color palette of white and gold creates a feeling of refined glamour in the swanky hotel ballroom at The Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston.

K

ari had always loved the pure elegance of an all-white wedding with the richness of added gold accents. She knew this sophisticated combination was exactly what she wanted and so the planning began. Venue selection was simple since she fell in love instantly with the gilded, old-world architecture of the ballroom at The Fairmont Copley Plaza and knew it could be juxtaposed with modern décor. The combined talents of Jodi Raphael Events and Carol Silverston brought Kari’s vision to life. Long mirrored tables were adorned with pure white flora and glistening candles. Round tables surrounded by Lucite chairs were decorated with cascading orchids in tall crystal vases. “Jodi and Carol were both amazing to work with. I had a distinct look and high expectations for how the décor would turn out and the result was flawless,” gushed Kari.

uring their fi rst trip together, the couple visited Newport. While touring Rosecliff mansion, they looked at each other at the same time and said, “this would be a perfect place to have a wedding.” It was fate, and the gilded architecture complemented Marisa’s love for pink and white f lowers. Sayles Livingston Design covered every surface with an abundance of beautiful blooms. Each table held a crystal centerpiece topped with a lavish floral sphere of pink and white blossoms. The grand staircase was lined with white flora and candles, and even the sweetheart table was covered with a blanket of rosettes. “We wanted a fairytale wedding and that’s exactly what we had. With the help of Sayles Livingston, Rosecliff was transformed into a white and light pink dream. Inside and out, she placed beautiful floral arrangements with candles. Also, Blackstone Caterers orchestrated a superb dining experience. It truly was a beautiful day,” Marisa reminisced.

ustin proposed to Claire in Jamaica, but instead of bringing their guests to Jamaica, they decided to bring the island vibes to Nantucket. The couple searched for a venue able to accommodate 220 guests as well as an after-party on-site. The Wauwinet met both requirements, and so the planning began. “I could not speak more highly of the team at The Wauwinet – they made everything perfect that day, and leading up to it!” Claire raved. They decided on clean, tropical-inspired décor with a touch of Ralph Lauren flair. The ceremony took place overlooking the ocean, beneath a white trellis that was decorated with bright white flowers and greens. Inside the tent, long wooden tables were lined with crystal vases that were bursting with fresh palm fronds. Smaller white and green floral arrangements surrounded by floating candles warmed the table. Delicious fare, local to Nantucket, prepared by The Wauwinet was enjoyed by all.

pending their weekends picnicking on the lawn of Fort Adams and watching the boats pass in the bay made Amy and Scott realize they wanted this sentimental seaside backdrop for their wedding. Flowers also had emotional meaning in their relationship, so the couple wanted bountiful blooms to be the focal point of the reception. From there, they let their event designer Diana Chouinard of Jubilee Events develop the décor. “Paying tribute to the nautical atmosphere surrounding us, I took a classic approach to the design, rich with colors of navy, champagne, and blush, and adding in pops of gold, with flatware and china, and the gold foil edges and script of the stationery designed by Coral Pheasant,” Chouinard explained. The tent was filled with an abundance of fresh flowers from Sayles Livingston Design under a basket weave of ivory chiffon draped elegantly by Ryan Designs.

he warmth of golden light and an abundance of romantic flowers invited guests into the grand ballroom. Elevated floral sculptures lined the aisle leading Marissa and Danny to their custommade chuppah, while mirrored posts with a floral façade supported a canopy of hanging orchids; a perfect setting to say “I do.” After the ceremony, while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour, Marc Hall and his team switched up the atmosphere in the ballroom with violet lighting and even more breathtaking floral sculptures. “They used precise lighting throughout the ballroom to illuminate the floral arrangements, the ornate ceiling, and the white dance floor, just as I had envisioned it,” Marissa described. Each table held a tall crystal vase filled with white roses, orchids, and hydrangeas. Pillar candles were scattered throughout, adding warmth to the room. olly and Max both had strong family roots in the artistic world. There was no doubt in either of their minds that the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum would be the perfect place to be married. The couple gave their florist, Marc Hall, and his team few design limitations, which enabled him to create an imaginative floral design that brought the outdoors inside the museum. Delicate vines, branches, and flora hung from a trellis creating a lush canopy. Tiny glass vessels lit by candles glowed warmly completing the indoor magical garden effect. “Our wedding planners, Nicole Simeral and Chelsea Bates, were an enormous help in making sure everything felt intimate and personal to us. When we learned my dad could not travel to the wedding due to illness, they brilliantly found a way to FaceTime him into the ceremony by attaching a phone to the Chuppah. Seeing my dad during the ceremony is one of my favorite memories from the day, and something only Nicole and Chelsea could make happen, Molly reminisced.

VISION On a bright autumn day, six charming little fairies danced around a breathtaking display of floral perfection. The farm table, from Exquisite Events, featured a custom-made trellis that was ideal for floral designer Sayles Livingston, of Sayles Livingston Design, to realize her vision for this styled photo shoot. “Hanging ceiling flowers are really trending right now, the execution of which we are becoming known for. I wanted to show how that concept can be achieved on a smaller scale,” she described. Heavy greenery intertwined with coral, fuchsia, and burnt orange blooms hung delicately alongside mini lanterns. Candlelight illuminated each lantern, emitting an amber glow amongst the flora. Gold-painted succulents and mercury glass vessels were scattered throughout the table top adding a touch of glitz to the colorful design. The farm-to-table cuisine, a specialty of Blackstone Caterers, completed the tablescape. Nearby, a tent from Chase Canopy was transformed by the décor team at Exquisite Events into a luxe lounge with draping in rich autumn hues, a chandelier, an oriental rug, a plush leather couch, and ottoman. A few feet over was a scrumptious dessert table filled with cookies, cupcakes, and a simply elegant cake that the flower girls admired and enjoyed. Hanging from a large tree branch above, a chandelier shed light on the delightful display of sweets completing the overall dream-like design.

With the deep green tones of the leafy woods in the background, Taddei created a classic, romantic retreat with an edge. A garland of textural arrangements lined the rustic picnic table from Be Our Guest. French round back chairs and ivory place settings added a touch of modern refinement to the table design. Anchored in the gently moving river, a classic wooden dory, handcrafted by a local Cape Cod craftsman, was decorated with an abundance of fresh flowers. Over in the lounge area, a weathered door was placed upon a wrought iron base to serve as the table where sugary confections from Artisan Bake Shop could be enjoyed. Donning ethereal gowns from A Little Something White Bridal Couture, the bridal party cozied up with Ted, the magnificent Golden Retriever, on an antique sofa and watched the incredible sunset.

INSIDE A FASCINATING

FLORAL

Staying true to their aesthetic, the team at Flowers by Semia created a wild floral fantasy that added romance to an industrial setting.

photographed by Erin McGinn

THE

vision

Architecture and infused color were the musings of Semia Dunne and her creative team of designers at Flowers by Semia. “We wanted to play with an unexpected, saturated palette while staying true to the fiery tones inherent to the autumn landscape, Dunne described. Deep fuchsia blooms and golden yellow ferns came together to form a beautifully untamed bouquet that rivaled the drama of the navy lace ball gown worn by the model. Beside her, an edgy metallic gown printed with teal and crimson velvet flowers was paired with a more textural bouquet of porcelain berry, yellow orchids, and other foraged flora. In the courtyard, an industrial staircase overgrown with passion vines provided a natural canvas for a grand floral installation. Vibrant pink garden roses, golden ferns, burning bush, rusty rosehip branches, and bittersweet vines were added to the staircase creating the perfect setting for a love story to unfold. The final chapter took place by an antique wooden farm table draped with smoky blue linen and decorated with copper tableware and an earthy centerpiece of aqua and mustard yellow flora. Palatable fall fare prepared by Russell Morin Catering & Events was informally arranged upon the table, evoking a feast for both the eyes and the senses.

V ISION In the tent located on the beautiful grounds of Blithewold Mansion, Gardens & Arboretum, creamy white orchids intertwined with lush greenery hung alongside twinkling chandeliers like floral art. The dramatic installation was the result of a collaboration between Ryan Designs and Whim Events. Christen Ryan and her team at Ryan Designs decked out the tent with billowy draping and opulent crystal chandeliers, while the floral designers from Whim Events fabricated the incredible fresh floral display. Swaying gently in the breeze, the installation provided a canopy of light above the grey-washed bar. “Hanging the orchids and greenery amongst the chandeliers was the perfect touch of magic in a place that would never go unnoticed,” exclaimed the talented team from Whim Events. Just a few yards away, tucked under the shade of the trees, a luxe lounge, created by Reserve Modern Event Rental, complete with tufted seating and a vintage rug, provided the perfect place to relax between cocktails and dinner. The head table was set on the sweeping lawn of the mansion overlooking Narragansett Bay as the sun set in the distance. As regal as the venue itself, the bride donned a champagne striped Carolina Herrera ball gown. Beth Chapman of The White Dress by the Shore styled the rest of the bridal party in black gowns varying in lace, tulle, and sequins completing the overall look for the night.
