LET’S EXPLORE 2024 BY EDWARD ARRIOLA FORT BLISS MWR SPECIAL EVENTS

Editor’s Note: This is an introduction to a new column for patrons to experience programs to do around Fort Bliss and El Paso. Read about it and try it out yourself! 2024 brings with it a new year, new challenges, and a new opportunities to grow and face new fears. “We have nothing to fear but fear itself ” famous words spoken by Franklin D. Roosevelt. Fear brings with it failure, doubt, and that voice in your head that tells you, “You aren’t good enough.” This is the reason many people stay in their comfort zone and do not explore new things. I have always said, “I can do anything,” so it’s time for me to go big or go home! Working for Fort Bliss MWR I have been given an opportunity of trying new things and learning from people who do amazing things in their programs. They can be great cheerleaders to push you forward in life. In doing so, I became an event planner, cardboard boat maker, writer, magazine game designer, builder, haunted house creator, sound board engineer, have been part of a live stream team and so much more. These endeavors were placed in front of me and somehow I came out the other side better than ever. This is what inspired me to create this article! I want to continue my journey and become a better person each day. So, with that being said I would like to invite all my readers to follow me as I explore new opportunities and unlock new skills and abilities. My single goal for this article is to discover hidden gems in Fort Bliss and El Paso and share the experience, while simultaneously becoming a better writer and a master of many things. I would also like to end each article with a lesson I learn during the activity. For this one I would like to take a second, before I close, to thank my MWR family for allowing me to take on this task and helping me grow every step of the way. Life may be a journey, but it can be more fun surrounded by the right people. People change people! So, keep close the ones who raise you to a greater version of yourself and step away from those that tear you down. I would like to offer up a challenge, say something nice to a stranger and help someone today, and together, “Let’s explore 2024.”
