This season as we continue our studies in domestic materiality with American White Oak, Roble - California Valley Oak, Tule Rush, Guanacaste, Flamed Copper, Selenite Marquetry, and terracotta, we have also worked to introduce new materials to our practice. We have sourced new materials and craftwork indig enous to the regions on the three shores of the Mediterranean, along the Nile River, throughout the Fertile Crescent Region, down the Pacific Coastline, from the Gulf of California, and throughout North America. An increased attention to fine detail and traditional joinery along with refined scale and a tran scendent perspective, embodies a new chapter in our journey. Limed and vegetable tanned goatskin vellum, olive ash burl, and Euphrates bullrush, handblown glass and marble from quarries specified by pharaohs are among the building blocks of our collections. Ourprocess,
regardless of material origin, gives special attention to construction, texture, and manip ulation of nature.
This new collection focus on raw materials articulated in unique applications and in combinations that create interest and present with integrity. This is all to further our ambitions of making products that improve the lives of those they touch, at every level. We believe the daily framing of our world as a place to explore and contribute to, manifests in the sanctuaries we make of our homes.

Poised sabre legs meet a solid oak ovolo edge at a miter, while hand brushing contours the subtleties of a tailored silhouette. Techniques of sumizome, bleaching, or fuming are applied to enhance the wood's natu ral grain, creating a raw, refined table. An alternating grained parquetry top rays across the dining surface and a unique concealed adjustment system and solid brass leaf locks maintain the table's stately stance while comfortably accommodating up to twelve.

Three-way miters meet as a parquetry slab top rises, white oak grain frames the natural variationa of our smooth limed and vegetable tanned goatskin vellum. Materials selected to contour the subtleties of a tailored silhouette, terminate in a refined saber leg. Push to open drawers and doors feature hardware produced in Germany, while doors and shelves are set off in natural brass cast scissor hinges and threaded shelf pins.

Solid turned oak legs telescope between milled reeding and finish with a scalloped corner entablature. Flexible storage is aided by a removable and adjustable pull-out work surface. A removable base shelf allows for under case storage or nesting and accommodates multiple functions. Drawing reference from patterns of light and shadow falling on the facade of the eponymous Caracas property, designed by Gio Ponti in 1953, the Villa Planchart Collection softens sculpted geometric forms in vegetable tanned vellum and warms interior spaces with cerused oak. The aspect statement is kept pure by use of hidden opening mechanisms and hand-cast brass fittings.

Fought over for millennia, Ottoman Persians, Byzantines, Romans, Greeks, Muqawqis, France and England have all laid claim its’ twin harbors. Alexandria is a vibrant city that now houses our finest wood furniture workshop. With exotic materials from the surrounding African continent and staple hardwoods like French Oak and Olive Wood a short passage across the Mediterranean Sea, and most of all with the ingenuity and precision of our Egyptian team, it is quickly becoming the epicenter of our developing line. Each piece of furniture we hand craft in Alexandria is traditionally bench made.
