your life, your home, your community. So now we’ve had the wettest June in the last 100 years and I thought April would be difficult to beat! It’s strange how April and June were record -breaking wet months a hundred years ago and both have been record-breaking wet months this year as well. At least some elements of the weather are consistent! Despite some national flood disasters, we’ve been okay locally. I know we need water, but I think we’re due a little sunshine as well anytime soon - overdue in fact. And I think we’d all appreciate a little sun to cheer us up. Mind you, I bet travel agents are doing a storm this year as people go off in search of some sun. I’d like to join them in doing so but I’ve got a wedding weekend to attend in Yorkshire, and then a member of the family is 80 this year and isn’t allowed to fly so that’s another mini break in the UK for me! Do you think Delmar Travel (with their lovely holidays they advertise in the magazine each month) will have sympathy and send me somewhere hot and sunny to do some research for them? Fingers crossed…….

Here’s to a drier and sunnier July. And if it’s not, then thankfully there’s a lot of sport to come to keep us entertained indoors. Despite the footie having finished (with Spain having convincingly beaten Italy the other week) and Wimbledon having been and gone for another year, at least the Olympics are still to come! And if you’re going away on holiday, have a fantastic time and make sure you pack the sun in your case on the way back. I can’t let this month pass without expressing the deepest sympathy (I’m sure on behalf of the whole village) to Gwen and Paul at the Village Store for their sad loss of Graham, a much-loved husband and father. I hope to pay tribute to Graham with a fuller and well-deserved mention very soon, as so many of us will miss his wonderful character. I’m sorry to sign off on such a sad note and hope everyone will give their love to Gwen and Paul when they next pop into the store.

All the best, Jill

West Highland Ramblings

A Diary of Douglas the Westie On the fame note again, I have been approached by both sides in the Scottish Independence debate. It was a difficult I have to admit to being totally miserable at the moment; wet walks are all I seem to get. There is no sympathy from Himself - he just says that as a West Highland Terrier I should be used to rain and I have to get on with it.

Talking of water, I am off to Bath again for my summer holidays and to meet up with my young Yorkie friend Digby. Being even closer to the ground than I am he will have some sympathy for the misery we have to suffer in wet weather.

I have been receiving some doggie moans from friends about the fact that I only seem to mention Kira and Striker these days, so I have to apologise to Jasper, Murphy, Robbie, Woody and Meg. Particularly to Jasper as I really need to shelter under him in all this wet weather.

Welsh heritage!

It is a really problem being so famous - all the fan mail and requests for interviews. It was suggested that I might carry the Olympic Flame on its route from Chester to Wrexham. I readily agreed but those health and safety people intervened saying that it was a health hazard because my fur might get singed. Ah well, perhaps I might be invited to the opening ceremony.

Talking of Scotland, Himself is mortified as he has just found out that his great grandmother was Scottish and a “Douglas” to boot - so much for his pure A very kind reader has just e mailed me a photo of a Westie (wearing a diamante collar) who they saw whilst visiting a very posh café in Monaco. It does bear a striking likeness to me, and famous authors do frequent such gentlemen don’t do bling !!! Dark glasses yes, but I prefer to leave the diamante to Kira. But Monte Carlo now, there’s a thought. I might just drop Himself a hint, Mon Ami. Away aye the noo – or perhaps au revoir… Douglas xx

Andrew Bailey

county councillor for Gresford

Link Road opens A long held ambition of both Wrexham and the former Clwyd County Councils will be realised later this month when the Link Road to the Wrexham industrial estate is opened. Years of negotiations and recent months of work and associated traffic disruption will come to a fruitful conclusion on Monday 16th July. An improved link to a major local source of employment can only be good for our local economy. Local Road I have received a few representations concerning Narrow Lane living up to its name. The parking of vehicles opposite road ends and house entrances can cause difficulties for larger vehicles, including those of the emergency services. Whilst I explore how we might solve this problem, may I make a polite request that motorists do not park here.

FINANCIAL HEALTH PLAN FOR WOMEN Women are far more likely to favour straightforward investments such as cash ISAs over more complex investment plans, according to a survey by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). The survey found that women felt they do not have sufficient understanding of financial products and as a result were less confident about making financial decisions than men (Source: Chartered Insurance Institute July 2009 ‘Women And Financial Advice’). The Institute concluded that while women were less interested in financial ‘products’ as such, they were much keener to understand what they were buying in clear, simple language, from someone that they can relate to. The Institute suggested that women were likely to be far more receptive to an approach that presented a life financial health plan rather than one that was simply product-driven. According to another recent survey, women are ‘more financially important’ than ever before, taking on more responsibility for the household finances. The report added that this is partly because of a ‘significant rise’ in female employment over the past three decades, adding that by 2030 around a quarter of women are expected to be their family’s main breadwinner (Source: AXA Study May 2010). The financial planning issues facing

women are generally the same as men namely tax planning, investment, retirement planning, and protection which we have covered on numerous occasions in previous articles. Retirement planning is an area that requires particular attention. Childbirth, marriage, divorce and being widowed have all had a significant impact on the pension accrual of many women. Many women’s pensions are affected by the career breaks they take to bring up children or care for elderly relatives. In addition, women tend to earn less than men, are more likely to work part time, live longer and save less. And with the increase in marriage breakdowns, many more pensioners will be living alone. Finally women’s state pension ages are increasing from 60 eventually to 68 to bring them in line with the state pension age for men. A combination of less opportunity to build up a pension, living longer and divorce means that there is greater danger of women suffering a poor pension income and greater need to take advice. A state pension forecast from www.direct.gov.co.uk can help to find out any gaps in entitlement and a suitably qualified adviser can help design a plan to ensure a decent retirement.

essential gardening Although maintenance is key in July, you can still introduce new bedding plants to keep your garden looking bright and beautiful throughout summer. Prune flowers - Pinch out the growing tips of basket and container plants to encourage them to produce bushy even growth and lots of flowers. Sow seeds - Biennials, such as foxgloves, sweet williams, Canterbury bells and forget-me-nots, should be sown as soon as fresh seed is available. Pests and diseases - Use a forceful jet from a garden hose to knock aphids off water lilies and other garden plants. Spray roses to protect them against problems with mildew, blackspot or rust. Summer bedding plants - Finish planting out summer bedding plants in borders, baskets and containers. General care - Remove suckers or unwanted shoots Some trees and shrubs have a habit of producing unwanted shoots from

their base, or from the stems of those trained as standards. These can regularly be seen growing around rowan trees, sumach and older fruit trees. Cut them cleanly away with secateurs to prevent them sapping strength from the plant. Lawns - Mow it at least once a week, twice if possible, and finish by cutting the edges neatly. Feed lawns, if this hasn’t been done already, and treat any weeds and moss. The clippings can usually be mixed into the compost heap, but remember to discard them for the first few mowings after applying weedkillers. Mulch - Protect new and established plants by mulching the soil between them with composted bark, cocoa shells or another ornamental mulch. This will not only look attractive, setting off the surrounding plants, but will reduce annual weed growth and conserve soil moisture. Always mulch over moist ground, never on to bone-dry soil, so be sure to water well first if necessary.

Main image: Peacock on roof © Hugh Linn Right: Great Mandarin female with ducklings (Tony Morris)

Recently North Wales has produced some unusual sightings. The most spectacular, if correctly identified, was a huge White-tailed Eagle in Llandegla on 16 June. With an 8 foot wingspan this bird is often referred to as the flying barn door. 4 wandering White Storks, previously seen at various sites in Sussex, Gwent and South Yorkshire, turned up on the coast between the Great Orme and Holywell. Although it is not a genuine wild bird Burton came up with its own big one in the shape of a Peacock found strutting around a rooftop on the Stonewalls Estate on 22nd June. Also in Burton Siskins reared young and Mandarin Ducks hatched ducklings on the River Dee at Almere. Tony Morris kindly sent in the accompanying photograph, taken on 12 May. Mr & Mrs Jones of Harwoods Lane had a visit from a family of four Great Spotted Woodpeckers. One young bird stayed behind on its own in their garden and was found to have only one eye. Most birds (with the notable exception of owls) rely on eyes set either side of their heads for an almost 360 degree field of view. The downside of monocular vision for a bird like a woodpecker is that its sight range is dangerously restricted, thereby not only affecting its flight skills but also leaving it vulnerable to predators so, sadly, that little bird will have little chance of survival.

Last month a Quail was calling in a field at Holt. In years gone by Quails were common breeders in hayfields but today’s earlier cropping leaves too little time for them to rear young, so Quails, like Corncrakes, are now only encountered exceptionally. Some birds, though, have benefited from changing agricultural use. Reed Buntings now favour fields of oilseed rape. The Reed Bunting, a strong candidate for the British bird with the most monotonous song (an unmusical “chirrup, chirrup, chirrup“), can now to be heard vying with the melodious outpourings of Skylarks on the Burton Meadows. A Cuckoo was heard calling in Gresford on 22 May and a Little Egret has been seen in flight over Rossett.

Dear Residents, Numerous vehicle crime incidents have recently occurred in your neighbourhood. Whilst car crime has been continuing to fall throughout North Wales, it does still happen. By taking simple steps each time you park your car, you can prevent becoming a victim. Car crime is both expensive and inconvenient. If you see or hear anything suspicious, please contact local police. In an emergency, always dial 999. For non-urgent matters requiring police assistance or to give us information, please contact Police Control Room: 101. Reduce your chances of becoming the next victim: • Park in your garage or driveway and close the gate; • Lock your doors when park - you’d be surprised how many people don’t; • Don’t leave anything on display - even ‘junk’ can look attractive; • Use a steering lock - thieves hate these; • Ensure your alarm/immobiliser is working and set each time; • Remove radios/CD players if possible; • Remove satnavs, including cradles and clean the sucker marks off the windscreen with a soft cloth; • 40% of break-ins involve mobile phones never leave one in the car; • If anything has to be left in the car, look at ways of marking them with your

postcode etc. Your local police station or Neighbourhood Watch can advise. For free confidential advice on any aspects of security, please call 101 and ask to speak with your Local Community Beat Manager. Also, over the last few weeks we have had an increase in the amount of shed break-ins and thefts of garden furniture being reported. Burglary is a crime of opportunity – don’t give burglars a chance!! Crimes figures for May 2012 Burglary other than Dwelling 1 Theft from Vehicle 1 Theft 2 Criminal Damage 3

Dispose of Unwanted Medicines Properly (DUMP Scheme) As part of the Health Service Executive’s “Dispose of Unused Medicines Properly” (DUMP) scheme, Rossett Pharmacy are encouraging people to return unwanted or out of date medicines to them so that they can be disposed of safely and properly. Improper disposal of medication is a growing concern. It can lead to environmental problems and contribute to prescription drug abuse, especially among teens and young adults. Safely disposing of unwanted medicines can also reduce the risks of accidental poisoning as well as environmental damage. Medication can pose a real hazard in the home, particularly to children or other vulnerable people. Clearing out your medicine cabinet is something that should be done on a regular

basis. Check all the dates on medication and remove anything that is out of date or no longer required. As well as the hazards posed by overdose, accidental poisoning and damage to the environment, medicines can alter their composition when out of date and may end up being harmful. The D.U.M.P. program is designed to provide residents with a safe and easy option for disposing of unwanted medications. Please ensure that the medicines are kept in their original, own containers and erase any information which identifies the recipient. Please note that only pills, capsules, or liquids can be accepted; syringes cannot. If in doubt contact Glen and the team at Rossett Pharmacy on 01244 570310.

hugh.jones@wrexham.gov.uk Verges and Hedges. Due to the weather conditions, verges and hedges have been growing at a rapid rate. The Council is struggling to cope. Wrexham County Borough has a huge rural hinterland stretching from Chirk to Rossett. Outside contractors have been brought in to try to cope with the backlog. I am not convinced, having regard to the piecemeal way in which the work has been carried out, that resources have been used as effectively as possible and I will be asking officers to review this. Golly. I have arranged for further work to be done to improve the road and verges and this is due to be completed at the end of June. Policing There are a number of issues that I am currently discussing with North Wales Police; I have asked them to reverse changes made to their web site where it is no longer possible to identify who is responsible for policing in each ward. It is important to maintain the link between the local community and identifiable police and police community support officers. I have received a number of complaints regarding the quality of the 101 service; examples have been given of long waiting times and unsatisfactory responses. From my experience the service is inconsistent and work needs to be done to improve the service. I

would welcome any feedback from your personal experience, both good and bad. Training is in process for the extra twenty PCSOs allocated to Wrexham, ten of whom will be posted to rural areas. The Welsh Government has set up a North Wales Safer Communities Board covering the 6 counties; this includes police and emergency services together with criminal justice and local authorities. I will represent Wrexham on this Board. Jubilee Celebrations A big “thank you” to all who organised and supported the three days. Notwithstanding the weather, there was excellent community spirit and it was good to see the village hall playing its part in engendering and supporting this spirit. As a result of the demand, the pram race will become an annual event! Litter Pick A further “thank you” to the community-minded residents who came out on another wet day and helped with the litter-pick. It was good to see young and old alike taking a pride in our village. Chester Marathon The Chester Marathon will be coming through Rossett on October 7th. I am in contact with the organisers, who will be coming to the next Community Council meeting. I have asked for an assurance that the problems of last year will not be repeated. Specifically, some marshals adopted an arrogant attitude to residents; there were poor communications and unnecessary inconvenience was caused to residents by closing roads too far in advance. As always I can be contacted on 01244 571747 or hugh.jones@wrexham.gov.uk.

covershot Y INSIGHT INTO YOUR MONTHL

Here is the chance to shine on the front cover of ‘essentiallyours’. I have decided to give myself a break! And hand over the creative frontage to you. It’s quite straight forward really, all I want you to do is come up with a front cover photograph for the September issue of Essentiallyours. That gives you plenty of time to get your act together to create a masterpiece fit to grace the front of 4000 magazines delivered in your area. Now, here come the technical bits and the very loose rules I have just made up, so concentrate! The photograph must be portrait format, not landscape! Which means, it must be long and thin, not short and fat. It must also be a recent, local photograph, as lovely as they are, I don’t want a shot of Big Ben or one of your wife on the beach at Bangor! For copyright purposes the image must be your own, please don’t be scanning in a Lord Lichfield from some magazine and passing it off as your own, that would be very naughty

and cheating ever so slightly! Digital format ONLY! The higher the resolution (minimum 300dpi please) the better. The competition is open to all - young and old, just be creative and original. For everyone to be in with the same chance, please only enter one image, multiple submissions will be withdrawn. Closing date is 31st August 2012. Please email your entries to me: carol@essentiallyours. co.uk Make sure you include your name, address, contact number and where the photo was taken. The decision of the editor is final, no correspondence will be entered into please don’t try to bribe us with lavish gifts, chocolate cake, silky underwear or Caribbean cruises, as it just won’t work... much! Get snapping - good luck - but most of all, enjoy it. I will look forward to receiving your entries. If in doubt about any of the technical bits, just email me!

Improving fish passage over Burton / Rossett Weir As part of the “European Salmon for Tomorrow” project, Environment Agency Wales is working to improve fish passage at Rossett Weir. The River Alyn is failing to meet European standards for ecology and water quality. One reason for this is that the existing ‘pool and traverse’ fish pass does not work properly and very few fish are able to make it over the weir to reach their spawning grounds. To correct this, we are replacing the ‘pool and traverse’ fish pass with a modern “Larinier” fish pass. This will allow all species of fish to get over the weir. The new fish pass will slow the water down to make it easier for fish to get over the weir. We have made every effort to ensure that the new fish pass will be designed sympathetically with its surroundings. The photomontage we have put together gives an impression of how this fish pass will look. The new fish pass will let more fish access the spawning grounds and habitat upstream, so improving fish numbers in the river. The increased number of fish in the River Alyn will benefit all wildlife that relies on a healthy river. We have already improved several weirs on the Alyn to help fish migration. The new fish pass in Burton / Rossett will open up 38km of habitat on the Alyn for fish, including particularly salmon, sea trout and eels. Once the fish pass is constructed, we would like to undertake a ‘salmon homecoming’ project. We would be keen to hear from any local primary schools who would like to take part. As part of the ‘salmon homecoming’ the children would learn about the ecology of the river and each school may have an aquarium of salmon eggs which they can care for until they hatch and then release into the River Alyn. Work on the fish pass will be completed by September 2012. If you have any queries about the project or ‘salmon homecoming’ please contact us identifying the subject as “Rossett fish pass”, at Environment Agency Wales: custwano.bangor1.wls@environment-agency.gov.uk

Overton • St Mary the Virgin Church Overton is perhaps best known for the magnificent ancient yew trees in the churchyard, one of the ‘seven wonders of Wales’. The oldest is thought to be about 1500-2000 years old. The church tower dates from the 14th Century and houses a peel of 6 bells, and a clock by Joyce of Whitchurch incorporating their patent escapement mechanism, in common with ‘Big Ben’. Contact 01978 292015 • Opening Times daily 9am - 4.30pm

Bangor on Dee-St Dunawd’s Church St Dunawd was the distinguished Abbott of a huge 7th century monastery, noted for the slaughter of 1200 monks by the Anglo Saxons in 61AD. In approximately 1300 a red sandstone building was erected on what remained of the monastery, of which the chancel still stands. Discover graves and memorial plaques dating from 1300, a font dating from 1500, and beautiful stained glass windows. Beneath the pulpit are fragments of stone from the old Bangor Cross. Contact: 01978 292015 • Opening Times daily 10am-4pm

Tallarn Green • St Mary Magdalene Church This small Victorian church was first opened on 22nd October 1873, at a total building cost of £800, an amount that seems quite unreal today, as does the £137 spent on building the clock tower to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Jubilee. There can be fewer better examples of a small Victorian rural church than Tallarn Green, which continues to see regular worship after 130 years.

Worthenbury • Parish Church of St Deiniol’s The church is a Grade I listed building, and undoubtedly one of the finest examples of Georgian Architecture in Wales. The exterior is truly characteristic, in red brick with stone dressings, a fine square tower with a balustrade and urn finials, and a clock by Joyce of Whitchurch.

Marchwiel St Marcella’s Church There has been a church building on or near the current site since the 13th century. The church was restored in 1778, as the Latin inscription on one of the nave windows confirms. The pipe organ was presented to the church in 1888 by the widow of Benjamin Piercy of Marchwiel Hall. The organ was completely restored in the late 1990’s. Possibly a bit of wishful thinking - but some of you may be heading to foreign shores! We all like to make the most of catching the sun and looking tanned and gorgeous, but remember beauty is only skin deep.We need to protect our skin from the sun so before you think about sprawling out sunbathing without any sun protection cream, think again. Check out the truth about tanning - What’s in the sun? The sun gives off powerful radiation waves, including different kinds of ultraviolet rays. Here are the two that should concern you: • UVA rays penetrate deep into the skin layer, causing premature ageing and increasing the risk of skin cancer. • UVB rays burn the surface of the skin, causing it to tan and burn. What’s in a tan? A substance called melanin gives the skin colour and provides some natural protection against the sun’s UV rays. In sunshine, melanin

builds up and the skin becomes darker. Be warned, however, melanin takes time to build up a protective layer on the surface of the skin. Stripping off the moment the sun appears means the skin is unprepared, and quickly burns. It’s true that people with naturally dark skin have high levels of the melanin pigment, but no one is completely immune from burning. What’s in a sunburn? A sunburn is basically an inflammation of the skin cells, as a result of exposure to the sun (also sun lamps). The skin becomes red, painful and sometimes blistered. Experts reckon that one severe burning session before the age of 15 can double the risk of skin cancer. So how do I protect myself? In short, by having some respect for the sun. Always use a cream, block or lotion with a Sun Protection Factor (or SPF). This is basically a filter system designed to block out harmful UV rays and stop you from burning too quickly. What’s the right SPF for me? A high one. Experts actually recommend using nothing less than SPF15. Rub it on before going out in the sun and repeat the process throughout the day. If you’re planning on going for a dip be sure that you’re using a water resistant sun cream because sunlight actually increases in strength as it passes through water. Protecting yourself from the sun doesn’t have to be a sweat.

Michael Edwards Marford Councillor

Road and Pavement Resurfacing Costains, working for Welsh Water, have just finished laying the new sewer pipes in Claypit Lane and across the main road.We expect overflowing drains here to be a distant memory! We will have to wait for the grass to grow again on the part of the play area where they had their huts. It will remain fenced off until the new grass has grown. I wonder what the late night revellers will find to do, late on Friday and Saturday nights, now that the “Road Closed” signs are no longer there for them to rearrange. We look forward to the resurfacing that we have been promised. The Council’s website (“Progamme of Highway Work – Carriageway Resurfacing”) shows Willow Drive’s inclusion but not Pant Lane. I will ask them to update the website to show the other resurfacing they have planned for this year. Maes y Pant / Hollowfield Despite the signs at the entrances which indicate that “extreme” mountain biking is not acceptable in the old quarry and that no excavations can be made without permission, this activity has continued and another cyclist has been injured. I hope that when proper paths are laid out later this year, the most dangerous excavations will be filled in. The Maes y Pant website will show where the footpaths will run. Marford & Gresford Luncheon Club The Luncheon Club has now become well established and has a band of regular supporters who enjoy not 46

only a pleasant lunch but also each other’s company. The final meal before the summer break at Marford Community Centre is at 12.30pm on 10th July.We would like to say a big thank you to Silvana and staff in the Rofft kitchen, who have provided us with delicious meals this year. When the Rofft children go back to school in September, the club will resume. Beryl plans to put a list of dates on the notice boards. REPORTING Don’t forget the Wrexham Council website http://www.wrexham.gov. uk to report potholes, street light problems, dog fouling, fly tipping, missed bin collection etc. During working hours you can also ring the Wrexham Council Contact Centre in Lord St on 01978 298989. If you want to call the police and it is not a 999 emergency, you can ring 101. If you are about to set off on your holidays, I wish you a safe and sunny rest from work. As your Councillor in the Marford and Hoseley area, I look forward to hearing from you by phone, by email, in writing or in person.

IMPORTANT

We endeavour for all events to be in date when you receive your magazine. However, sometimes events will be imminent or have been and gone and this is because we haven’t been given enough notice to publicise the event, or have control over how soon you read the magazine, and of course some of you get the magazines before others due to volume of delivery. We still publish them for those people that read the magazine straight away and do so in the hope that a few people will be able to support the event and attend at short notice. A few extra people at a charitable cause makes a huge difference!

KIND CONTRIBUTION FROM

Gill Tanner SUMMER SIZZLERS IN STONEWALLS... John Whiteley repeated his gesture made last year when he grew a variety of bedding plants to sell to family and friends in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. This year he raised the staggering amount of £800 to benefit the charity. A lot of these plants were bought by neighbours in Stonewalls who were preparing their gardens for the “Five Garden Stroll” in aid of Nightingale House Hospice in June. Last year it was “Tea For Two” this year it grew to five gardens who all wanted to give their support to the hospice.

So it was a great relief when we had a rain free day for this event. Guests ambled from one garden to another following a map dotted with yellow ribbons and sunflowers to tie in with the national hospice theme of “Go Yellow” in June. We certainly did! We raised £1,450 between us, and we would like to thank all who helped in any way, by supporting us and lots of “hands on “ willing assistance. diybeauty Our TV screens are crammed with the latest super-sophisticated unpronounceable ingredients. We’re all trying to cut costs where possible - your kitchen cupboard provides countless ‘natural’, not to mention thrifty, solutions to your beauty needs. Cool as a cucumber - Our eyes get a raw deal, whether it’s daubing them with every colour under the sun, staying up until the wee hours or staring comatose at computer screens for hours on end. There’s a reason why so many eye care products contain cucumber - it’s proven to reduce puffiness and calm irritation; go one step better by placing slices, straight from the fridge, on your peepers. Lie back and relax for 5 to 10 minutes. Egg-traordinary - This simple concoction is great for oily complexions and will make your skin feel quite tight and taut when you apply it. Mix one egg white with quarter of a teaspoon of lemon juice or vinegar - whisk

together and apply to cleansed skin. Wash off after 10 minutes. Tomato source - The fruit acids in the humble tomato are great for calming oily skin and boosting dull complexions. Mash up a ripe, very soft tomato with a fork, apply to clean skin and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm (not hot) water. Oat of this world - Our skin, both male and female - needs regular exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and combat dullness, but it can be harsh on sensitive complexions. Try this if you’re allergic to shop-bought exfoliation products: mix two heaped tablespoons of oatmeal (finely ground oats) with 2 teaspoons of double cream and rub gently on to the skin using your fingertips. Soothing yogurt - Plain yogurt is commonly used in Indian beauty regimes popular for its ability to cool and soothe the most irritated of skins. Try applying it direct to a clean complexion if it’s feeling sensitive or you’ve over-indulged on the sunbathing. Leave for 10 to 15 minutes, then wash thoroughly. Berry nice - This is another great natural solution to dehydrated or sensitive skin. Take two handfuls of ripe strawberries, which are packed with skinfriendly vitamin C - and mash together with a tablespoon of natural yogurt. Massage on to your face and leave for 10-15 minutes. Go on, raid your cupboards and give your skin a well deserved treat.
