Welcome to June and the extremely sunny weather that is expected to come. Last Month was the month for all of our mothers, but June sees the day for all of our Fathers. June is the final month of our newsletter, but Key Club will still provide opportunities of service during June. Key Club will hold a sunset Car Wash on June 6 from 4-8 pm. Get your car washed as this is the last big Key Club event of the year! Make sure to stay up to date because Sign ups will be posted soon. .
We are feeling bittersweet because a new service year means a farewell to the old board but a welcoming entrance to our newly elected board. We know that they will pave the road for our future members. We are so grateful for all the memories this year and hope to make many more in the upcoming service year.
As always check Google Classroom and stay on top of any new events that we may provide in the future. This school year is coming to an end, but we must all stay focused on our goals. Key Club wishes all of its members a safe and productive summer.
With Great Care, Mateo Llano
President's Letter
Hello!! I hope you’ve all had an amazing May. It was wonderful to see everyone at the end-of-year banquet on May 31, where we celebrated the wonderful members of this club who dedicated their time to service. We got to introduce the new board, and I am so excited to get to work with them in the upcoming year!!
Though the end of the year is slowly creeping up on us, there are still hours to be had! We are holding a sunset car wash on Tuesday, June 6th, and I hope to see you there. Keep your eyes on our social media pages, our classroom page, and remind to sign up for the car wash and any upcoming events. Thank you to everyone that signed up for the Brookdale Funfair.
Let's jump into June!! With July closely following, I know you all are eagerly waiting for summer to start. We've had an amazing service year and I can't wait to start the next one with new service opportunities and new friendships to be had.
With great joy and excitement, your new Key Club President, Anniha Dorce
Farewell Old BoarD 2022-2023
Hello,
My name is Nick Polidoro and I am four year member and one of the co-presidents this year of the Bloomfield High School Key Club. Over the past four years, this club has truly made an impact on me and has helped me become the person I am today in ways I will be forever grateful for. This year we were able to increase our membership to over 170 members, create new events and raise hundreds of dollars for different charities, which are all things that as president, I am extremely proud of. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with many different people and I have learned something from each and every one of them. Although it is hard to choose, I have to say my favorite memories of the club, specifically this year, has to be the long hours after school, even until 8pm some nights, staying to plan or finish different service projects, and just having fun with one another. To the 2022-2023 board and the general membership, I applaud all of you. Without you, all of our events would not be possible. You all make Key Club what it is today. To Ms. Halpin and Ms. Salgado, thank you for supporting and guiding me through my crazy ideas. I am extremely thankful that together, we were able to accomplish so much throughout the past 12 months. This club has not only given me a purpose but also a second family. We all have made memories to last a lifetime and although this is the end of my key club journey, it is the beginning of a new chapter in my life story. I can confidently say that I'm leaving the club in great hands with Anniha and next year’s board. I am highly confident they will be able to accomplish many things and take this club to the next level. It has been my honor and privilege to serve you this year and it is something that I will never forget.
In wise words of Dr. Seuss, "Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened."
For the last time,
Yours in Caring and Service,
BHS Key Club President, Nick PolidoroFarewell Old BoarD 2022-2023
Key Club has been an outlet for me to serve my community while meeting so many great people along the way, and I am truly grateful for all of the friendships I have made throughout my four years with this club. To the underclassmen: never forget the mission of Key Club. This club is a place where students of different backgrounds are able to come together for a common cause: community service. Throughout next year, and so many more years to come, always remember that your service is directly impacting someone and making the world a better place one step at a time.
Serving as the Key Club Vice President and previous Historian has been my greatest honor. As I move onto this new chapter in my life, I take the lessons and endurance Key Club has taught me. I have made endless friendships with people that I hope will last far beyond high school. This year we have been able to accomplish so much as a club and our membership is at an all time high! My lasting impact on the community is one that I hope is forever remembered. Thank you to Ms. Halpin and Ms. Salgado for putting up with my endless questions. Thank you to Mrs. Gasparri and Mr. Bodor for introducing me to this wonderful club. Thank you to all of the staff that have assisted us with all our events! I hope Key Club continues to flourish and I will forever cherish the memories made

ADVOCACY FOCUS
Health Conditions & Disease Awareness
Cardiovascular Disease
Our Advocacy Focus is a way for us to raise awareness for specific relevant issues. This year, we are focusing on various prevalent diseases in America. For the past couple months, we focused on Alzheimer's Disease Awareness, and for April, we are focusing on Cardiovascular Disease. Being the leading cause of death for men and women in the U.S., heart disease is a huge issue afflicting people of all ages. In February with our Drop N'Dine event, we were able to raise money for the Ethan Lindberg Foundation, an organization supporting those with Congenital Heart Defects (heart defects present at birth). Just last month, we raised money for the Ronald McDonald House charity which provides housing and other resources to children battling with pediatric illness.
District Project
Education is Key!
The District Project is a way for Key Club to make active steps at making a change in the lives of students. This year our District Project is centered around providing the necessary means for a student to reach their academic potential and grow as an individual. So far, we have achieved this through our Key Traits 4 Kids field trips, and in February, we held our Week of Service.
