Hey Key Club! Welcome to March! Thanks to all of you for your hard work and dedication as this service year comes to a close! Just last month we managed to make 400 Reading Bags for the elementary schools! What a feat!
In March, you'll be able to sign up for things like our Glow in the Dark Volleyball event to raise money for the Ronald McDonald Foundation, which is an organization that helps provide housing to children dealing with cancer and other illnesses. Kiwanis will also be holding a food drive at ShopRite on March 11th from 10am to 2 pm, so if you would like to volunteer look out for sign-ups on Remind or reach out to us.
As always, check in with our Google Classroom & Remind for regular updates on events and service opportunities.
Please reach out to Ms. Halpin (Room B555), Ms. Salgado (Guidance Suite), or a board member if you have any questions.
Yours in Caring Service,
Janiya AngoyPRESIDENTS' LETTER
Hi Key Clubbers!
We hope you all had a great February! To look back on this month, we mainly want to recognize all of our hard working and dedicated members that volunteered at our first “Drop n’ Dine” event. Although we did not get the turnout we were hoping for, we still were able to raise over 200 dollars for the Ethan Lindberg Foundation (which helps those dealing with congenital heart disease), which is HUGE! We will definitely be doing this type of event again soon!
Looking forward to March, we are preparing for two of our biggest events; Glow in the Dark Volleyball and DECON. GITDVB will take place on March 23 at 5:30pm. We will be taking 20 teams. For anybody interested in participating, please pick up a registration packet from Ms Halpin or the Key Club office. We hope to see you there! As DECON approaches, we are filling out all possible contests and preparing for a great weekend!
Yours in Caring and Service,
BHS Key Club Co-Presidents Nick Polidoro & Andrew LoMonteRECENT & UPCOMING EVENTS THE KEY CLUB FAMILY

DISTRICT PROJECT Education is Key!
The District Project is a way for Key Club to make a difference towards a certain cause every year. This year, our District Project is focused on education and stopping the widening of the learning gap; our goal is to help others reach their full educational potential. So far, we have achieved this through our Key Traits 4 Kids field trips, as well as our Week of Service Reading Bag project! There's more to come in the future, so be sure to stay up to date with our upcoming service projects.

ADVOCACY FOCUS
Health Conditions & Disease Awareness
Cardiovascular Disease
Our Advocacy Focus is a way for us to raise awareness for specific relevant issues. This year, we are focusing on various prevalent diseases in America. For the past couple months we focused on Alzheimer's Disease Awareness, and for March, we are focusing on Cardiovascular Disease. Being the leading cause of death for men and women in the U.S., Heart Disease is a huge issue afflicting people of all ages.
In February with our Drop N'Dine event, we were able to raise money for the Ethan Lindberg Foundation, an organization supporting those with Congenital Heart Defects (heart defects present at birth).
Stay tuned for future service opportunities related to this cause!
