SEPTEMBER WAS THE FIRST MONTH OF THE NEW 20202021 SERVICE YEAR!WE HAD OUR FIRST OFFICIAL GENERAL MEETING AND WE HAD A GREAT TURN OUT!WELCOME NEW AND RETURNING KEY CLUBBERS WE ARE SO HAPPY TO HAVE YOU JOIN US!
CLEAN UP DAY!
Our Key Club will be participating in the Bloomfield Town Clean Up day 2020! October 24th from 9 am - 12 pm. Socially distancing and mask wearing guidelines will be followed and you will recieve 3 hours for your service! Will you be joining us?
Key Clubbers Who Is ready for Fall Rally? The largest New Jersey Key Club gathering from all districts. Every year Key Clubbers from all over New Jersey go to Six Flags Great Adventure and get to spend the day riding rides and meeting Key Clubbers from all over the districts. This Year it is virtual! Dear Key Clubbers, September was the start of the new service year so many new and exciting events. This month we had our first genral meeting of the new service year. I was so happy to see so many new and returning faces. I can't wait to meet everyone! I would like to introduce myself to anyone who doesn't know me. Hi my name is Camila Andrade I am currently a sophomore in High School, and the 2020-2021 editor. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email me or text me I am always here to help. Presidents Note HELLO KEY CLUBBERS, WE ARE ONE MONTH INTO THE YEAR! THANK YOU EVERYONE THAT ATTENDED OUR INFORMATION SESSION AND OUR FIRST VIRTUAL MEETING OF THE YEAR. WE HAVE BEEN WORKING HARD TO TRANSITION OUR CLUB TO FUNCTIONING WHILE EVERYONE IS STUCK AT HOME, SO SEEING SUCH A HIGH TURNOUT OF GENERAL MEMBERS WAS DELIGHTFUL. WE HOPE YOU WILL ALL STICK WITH US FOR THE GREAT PLANS FOR THE MONTHS AHEAD. ALIGNING WITH OUR STATEWIDE FOCUS, WE HAVE BEEN PLANNING MANY ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECTS. ONE HOPEFULLY COMING LATER THIS MONTH IS THE TOWNWIDE CLEANUP DAY. LOOK OUT SOON FOR A FORM TO TELL US THAT YOU’RE INTERESTED IN JOINING THE CLUB FOR THIS DAY OF SERVICE! ALSO, WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF PUTTING TOGETHER A HALLOWEEN THEMED EVENT FOR CHILDREN AROUND BLOOMFIELD THAT WE MAY NEED HELP WITH FROM MEMBERS. FINALLY, KEEP IN MIND THAT WE HOLD BIWEEKLY GENERAL MEETINGS WHERE ANYONE IS WELCOME TO COME, HELD RIGHT AFTER SCHOOL ON TUESDAYS. OUR NEXT WILL BE ON THE 20TH. FALL RALLY
Fall Rally is the largest gathering of NJ Key Clubbers which is usually held at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson New Jersey. However, this year, on Sunday October 11, at 10 to 3pm, New Jersey Key Club will be hosting our first - ever virtual Fall Rally. Key Clubbers from across New Jersey will be able to attend this FREE and entierly VIRTUAL event at the comfort of our own homes. Do to the curent pendemic, we have had to adapt to make changes, but we will be having great speakers from local New Jersey orginizations like Advocates for Children of New Jersey and Alliance for Living Ocean, aswell as representatives from international organizations like The Thirt Project and UNICEF.
Key Club Write Up EVERY NEW SERVICE YEAR THAT COMES AROUND IS AN EXCITING ONE FOR SEVERAL REASONS SUCH AS; NEW IDEAS, NEW GROUPS OF STUDENTS TO WORK WITH AND ANOTHER CHANCE TO HELP OUT IN THE COMMUNITY. THIS YEAR IS NO DIFFERENT WHEN IT COMES TO THOSE REASONS. HOWEVER, THERE ARE NEW CHALLENGES THIS YEAR THAT WE HAVE NEVER FACED BEFORE. WE ARE ALL DEALING WITH THE CURRENT PANDEMIC BUT WE AT BHS KEY CLUB ARE LOOKING AT THIS NEW SERVICE YEAR WITH A NEW SET OF EYES FIGURING OUT WAYS THAT WE CAN STILL HELP THE COMMUNITY AND HELP THOSE IN NEED. WE ARE HARD AT WORK COMING UP WITH IDEAS FOR SERVING AND HELPING THE COMMUNITY IN AS MANY WAYS AS POSSIBLE. WE ARE LOOKING AT WAYS TO MEET AND EXCEL AT THE DISTRICT PROJECT WHICH IS KEEPING THE GARDEN STATE GREEN, COMING UP WITH IDEAS AND WAYS TO PROVIDE SERVICE HOURS FOR OUR MEMBERS. WE ARE DEFINITELY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SERVICE YEAR AND ALSO WAYS TO HELP THE COMMUNITY AND THOSE IN NEED!
