Editors Letter Camila Andrade bhskeyclubeditor@gmail.com Key Clubbers!!!, This service year has been full of many amazing events and great hour opportunities. I am so glad that I got the opportunity to attend many events and excited to share new ones coming as well. We had DECON last month where our Key Clubbers attended virtually, listened to great speakers, and attended amazing workshops! This concluded our 2020-2021 service year! This is my last editorial for the service year and I am so grateful to be your editor next year as well. I am working on bringing new and fun ways for you and all Key Clubbers to be a part of the newsletters and Instagram page! Look at page 9 for a fun way to nominate your Key Club friends! Stay tuned and email me with any ideas or questions you might have! Lastly, I want to thank everyone for all of the support I have had during this year and I can’t wait for what the new service year has in store. As always, Yours in Caring Service Camila Andrade

A goodbye from our presidents...

Presidents Letter Hello Key Clubbers,

When we took over as your co-presidents, we had no idea what to expect. Sure, we had both been executive board officers for most of high school and had seen former presidents in action. We have both sat through hours of speeches and workshops that were meant to prepare us for taking the helm. But nothing was what we were expecting. Instead of the dreaded moment where we would stand up in front of the club to lead our first board meeting in the cafeteria outside our office, we were greeting you all virtually in September. Nothing can replace the environment and relationships created by personally meeting each of you, and we are very sad that we weren’t able to. There are many things we have to give thanks to our club for this year. First, thank you to everyone who came back in September to take part in another year of Key Club. In such a hectic time, with many of you getting acclimated to a high school schedule while also online, it does not go without notice how many smiling faces we saw during that first introductory meeting in the fall. We were both terrified, but it was wonderful to hear after how many of you were excited to be with us. Second, we would like to give thanks to your lasting dedication. Despite a summer of inactivity and being unable to hold many events, many of you have stayed with us through the end of the year. Our big project this year were the collection drives that we held in the fall and winter, because that was something we could all participate in safely that would make a big impact on our community. Those drives, and the contributions that you all and your families made to them, were given an award by the state for the amount of success we had. That award doesn’t just belong to our board officers, but to every single person who contributed out of the kindness of their hearts. Today, as I’m writing this, was the second Townwide Cleanup Day that we have joined this year. To see so many people, some veterans of the club and some brand new faces, still giving their Sunday morning to the community was wonderful. It helps me believe in the future of this club despite such a lacking year. The third thing we would like to thank you for is something that hasn’t happened yet, which is continuing the traditions of our club. Usually we have many annual events that we hold, including the Thanksgiving Dinner and Glow in the Dark Volleyball. We believe in your ability to return our club to it’s usual operations. Us seniors may be moving on to college, some of us across the country, but we will always hold the traditions that we worked on for four years to heart. It will always be comforting to know that those traditions are being continued, so thank you for that in advance. We hope we have made this year as enriching as possible despite difficult circumstances. Please welcome Caitlin Ennis and Michelle Escobar next month as they take over the duties of the Co-Presidents of your Bloomfield High School Key Club. Yours in Caring and Service forever, Gwen Reoch and Charlize Curcio
