DECEMBER RECAP THISÂ MONTH ON KEY CLUB NEWS: DECEMBER WAS THE MONTH OF GIVING AND DONATING TOYS TO FAMILIES. WE CONCLUDED THE HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE BY DONATING MANY TOYS TO MANY KIDS AROUND BLOOMFIELD. KEY CLUBBERS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET HOURS FOR EVERY TOY THEY DONATED. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED.

Dear Key Clubbers, Happy Holidays! I hope everyone had an amazing holiday season, seeing friends and family but being as safe and healthy as possible. The month of December has been a month of giving back to kids around Bloomfield. The Key Club partnered with the Bloomfield Police Department to collect unwrapped toys. Thank you to everyone who donated, it definitely made a big difference! I hope everyone has a great rest of their holiday season and I can't wait to see what we have in store for 2021! Presidents Note HELLO KEY CLUBBERS, AS THE YEAR CLOSES, WE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A LOOK BACK AND REFLECT ON THE AMAZING THINGS THAT OUR CLUB WAS ABLE TO DO THIS YEAR. DESPITE BEING OUT OF SCHOOL AND STUCK AT HOME FOR SO LONG, WE ARE ALL PROUD OF THE CONTINUED CONTRIBUTION FROM OUR DEDICATED GENERAL MEMBERS. IT SEEMS SO LONG AGO, BUT THE THIRD ANNUAL COFFEEHOUSE AT OAKSIDE MANOR WAS LAST JANUARY! WE WERE ABLE TO DONATE ALL OF THE PROCEEDS TO THE COMMUNITY FOOD BANK OF NEW JERSEY, CONTRIBUTING TO OUR GOAL OF REMEDYING FOOD POVERTY IN NEW JERSEY. LAST,FEBRUARY WE CROWNED THE WINNERS OF OUR KEY TRAITS 4 KIDS ESSAY AND POSTER CONTESTS AT A BOE MEETING. THAT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE GENERAL MEMBERS WHO TOOK THE TIME TO LEARN THE MATERIAL AND COME ON THE TRIPS WITH US. UNFORTUNATELY, OUR PLANS FROM THEN ON HAD TO BE CANCELLED. HOWEVER, WHEN WE CAME BACK THIS SCHOOL YEAR THE DRIVE FOR SERVICE AMONG OUR CLUB WAS NOT LOST. THE ONE INPERSON EVENT WE COULD DO, THE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANUP, SHOWED THE DEDICATION OF ALL OF OUR MEMBERS, WITH OVER 30 PEOPLE ATTENDING. IN ADDITION, THE COLLECTION DRIVES WE HAVE BEEN RUNNING HAVE BEEN OUTSTANDING, ALL BECAUSE OF YOU, EVEN GATHERING ATTENTION FROM KEY CLUB INTERNATIONAL!IN MORE CURRENT NEWS, LAST WEEK WE HELD A PICKUP OF OUR CLUB T-SHIRTS FOR THIS YEAR. IF YOU WERE NOT ABLE TO GET YOURS, THERE WILL BE FUTURE SHIPMENTS THAT WILL BE AVAILABLE, SO DON’T WORRY! FOR NOW, ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAYS AND THE TIME OFF SCHOOL. YOU’VE ALL EARNED SOME CHEER AFTER A TOUGH YEAR.

We have a new opportunity for hours that you can complete from home. Freerice is a website run by the United Nations World Food Programme, on which you can answer trivia questions to donate rice to areas struggling with the hunger crisis. We are offering hours for completion - one hour for every 1000 grains of rice, up to ten hours. Make sure to create an account so that your progress can be saved, with the username in the format of FirstnameLastname. For example, mine is GwenReoch.
