EDITOR'S LETTER Janiya Angoy bhskeyclubeditor@gmail.com

Summer is officially in session! That means: more time to spend with your friends, traveling to relaxing locations, and hopefully taking a break from your busy schedule. Throughout June, Key Clubbers have reached and celebrated great feats. Some events that we've helped out and participated in include ice cream socials (which is perfect for summer), fundraisers, as well as other opportunities that benefitted the Bloomfield Community. We're very thankful for the efforts Key Clubbers put forth! Feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns!

Yours in Caring Service, Janiya Angoy ..

PRESIDENTS' LETTER Happy Summer Everyone! Once again, congratulations to all of our graduating members. Thank you for all of your dedication to this club and we wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors. Towards the end of June, we had our annual team bonding/planning event where the entire board not only worked together to plan another successful year but also grew closer with one another. This month, some of our members also participated in assisting the Rec Department in the Sunset Classic at Foley Field. We are also very excited for the summer as we have a few fundraisers planned so stay on the lookout for more information! As always, if you have any questions or need anything, please do not hesitate to contact us through the president's email at bhskeyclubpresident@gmail.com. We hope to see you all soon. Yours in Caring and Service, Andrew LoMonte & Nick Polidoro

DISTRICT PROJECT Education is Key! The District Project is a way for Key Club to make a difference towards a certain cause every year. This year, our District Project is focused on education and stopping the widening of the learning gap. Our goal is to help others reach their full educational potential. Stay tuned for future service opportunities!

ADVOCACY FOCUS Health Conditions & Disease Awareness Our Advocacy Focus is a way for us to raise awareness for specific relevant issues. This year, we are focusing on various prevalent diseases in America. In June and July, our focus was on Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS), and for July and August, we are focusing on Lung Cancer. Lung cancer is a leading killer in the U.S. compared to other forms of cancer, hence why it is such a pressing issue. Please reach out to us or those below with any questions you may have, or if you would like to discover ways to raise awareness for this cause!

ICE CREAM SOCIAL - FOREST GLEN

In early June, Key Clubbers visited Forest Glen Elementary School to spend time with kids and help them partake in the fun activities they had in store. Activities ranged from face painting wacky designs, to helping with sidewalk chalk, to joining in on dance parties. Looks like they had a great time!

8

TRICKY TRAY Members helped out with a Tricky Tray fundraiser, which aimed to raise money for Bloomfield's Class of 2024 as the school year came to a close.

9

ICE CREAM SOCIAL - BROOKDALE Key Clubbers lent a hand to Brookdale Elementary School during their Ice Cream Social by helping with face painting, setting up outdoor events, and spending time with the children there.

10

CAR WASH On a Saturday morning, Key Clubbers rolled up their sleeves to wash cars outside of BHS for our club fundraiser. We washed the cars for free, but thanks to the generosity of our Bloomfield community, we raised a great amount in donations!! Thanks so much to all who participated!

11

BANQUET As the school year came to a close, members who reached a minimum of 20 service hours attended a banquet to enjoy amazing food and celebrate their successes.

12

DCM (DIVISIONAL COUNCIL MEETING) A few days after school came to a close, the Key Club board attended a virtual DCM (Divisional Council Meeting) to discuss future events and plan for the upcoming school year. It's always nice to meet with other Key Club chapters and see what their clubs are up to!
