Hey Key Clubbers! I hope you all have had an amazing summer break. Key Club is so excited to welcome you back for the 20222023 service year! Be sure to attend our club meetings to learn all about Key Club and how you can be more involved within the Bloomfield community. Over the coming months, we will have a multitude of fun and fulfilling events and service opportunities that you will have the chance to partake in. PRESIDENTS' LETTER Hello All! Welcome back to BHS and we hope everyone had a great summer! As we start the new school year, we are so excited to get everyone back together. We are preparing for all of our major events such as our Car Wash on September 10 and our Membership Night later on in the month. We are also preparing for the biggest gathering of key clubbers in New Jersey… FALL RALLY! Last year, we had bad weather and did not get to have the full experience so we are hoping for a good day! We are also preparing for our first general meeting of the year! We will be introducing our board, talking about important dates/deadlines and the expectations of this upcoming year for the club. LIBRARY ICE CREAM PARTY In August, Key Clubbers went with members of Bloomfield's Kiwanis to Bloomfield Public Library to celebrate children's strides in reading. Thanks so much to all of those who helped out!

9/11 MEMORIAL
Join us in the Bloomfield Rec Department's 9/11 Rememberance Ceremony! We will commemorate those whose lives were lost on September 11th by lighting luminary bags. This event will be hosted at the Historic Town Green. ~ Please check Google Classroom for sign-ups and other info! Feel free to reach out with any questions ~
(UPCOMING) CLUB MEETING On September 14th, 2022 Key Club will hold a general meeting for all club members. Stop by after school to learn more about this club, its officers and advisors, and ask any questions that you may have. We look forward to meeting you all!
MEMBERSHIP NIGHT Be sure to mark your calendars for Key Club's annual Membership night, which will tentatively be held on September 28th. Please keep in mind that you will need to complete forms in order to register as a club member. Also, you must pay $35 in dues IN CASH, which includes the cost of your Key Club t-shirt. We are ecstatic to welcome you into the Key Club family.
FALL RALLY On October 9th, Key Clubbers will attend the 43rd annual Fall Rally trip at Six Flags. Here, we will learn all about NJ Key Club, all things service, along with other events and opportunities that this service year has in store. After this, the park is open to us, meaning you can go on rides and spend the rest of your day in the park. If you're interested in signing up, please stay tuned through our social medias and Remind. Further information regarding sign-ups, pricing, and other details will be posted to Google Classroom in the coming days!
DISTRICT PROJECT Education is Key! The District Project is a way for Key Club to make a difference towards a certain cause every year. This year, our District Project is focused on education and stopping the widening of the learning gap; our goal is to help others reach their full educational potential. Stay tuned for future service opportunities!
ADVOCACY FOCUS Health Conditions & Disease Awareness
Breast Cancer Our Advocacy Focus is a way for us to raise awareness for specific relevant issues. This year, we are focusing on various prevalent diseases in America. During July and August, our focus was on Lung Cancer, and for September through October, we are focusing on Breast Cancer Awareness. 1 in 8 women develop breast cancer (though men can get it too!), and it is one of the most common types of cancer affecting women worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, hundreds of thousands of women die due to this relentless disease. Please reach out to us with any questions you may have, or if you would like to discover ways to raise awareness for this cause!
