BHS Key Clubbers, This will be my second year as bulletin editor of the Bloomfield High School Key Club, and I am excited for another year with some of the best people in the school who genuinely care about not only Key Club but what it stands for as well. Caring is our way of service, and all of the board members wish to uphold this and execute it in the best way possible: service events. The past 2017-18 service year brought many memories to not only the board, but hopefully also the general members of the Bloomfield High School Key Club. Many inside jokes were made during the development and executing of more than 1,795.5 hours of service and many of those hours were spent laughing. One of our club's goals for next year is to not only increase the total hours of service, but also the general member involvement and passion for Key Club. As the 2018-19 service year begins, we will be incorporating aspects of the past year as well as introducing new events and procedures. We will continue to hold our Glow-in-the DarkVolleyball, Tape the Teacher, coffee houses, and car washes. In addition to these, we will be altering Key Traits for Kids, hosting a cupcake competition, and hopefully working with the middle school Builder's Club to hold an obstacle course this winter. Stay in touch with the board to be involved in these events and earn more hours in the upcoming year. Despite the excitement of a new year (especially the start of summer), there are also downsides to the end of a service year. This year, we will be saying goodbye to our seniors, President Emilio Vargas and Secretary Claire LaMonica soon and they will no longer directly be involved in our club. Our co-president elects, Julianna Cianciotta and Sienna Tyransky will be sworn in at the banquet in May and Gwen Reoch will be sworn in as secretary. Finals will be soon, but that does not mean the service and volunteering needs to end.

Yours in caring and service, Jamianne Kelly BHS Key Club Bulletin Editor

Dear Key Clubbers, Each year, April marks the preparation for a new Key Club service year. This month, your Bloomfield High School Key Club advisors chose a new board for the upcoming 2018-2019 year. A combination of the old and new board planned and executed our annual Glowin-the-Dark-Volleyball Tournament, resulting in a total of $850 being donated to Tomorrow’s Childrens’ Fund. The new board then went on a weekend trip to YMCA Camp Mason to plan the next service year and bond. I hope to see all of you at our banquet on May 17th, 2018 at 6:30 PM! Yours in caring and service, Jules Cianciotta & Sienna Tyransky Bloomfield High School Key Club Co-Presidents

From LTG Joseph Kajon

Hello members of Division 18! It is with great honor that I am able to introduce myself to you all as the newly elected Lieutenant Governor of Division 18. My name i s Joseph Kajon and I am arising senior at Saint Mary High School in Rutherford. I am truly looking forward to spending this service year with you creating projects as a team, making memories, and most importantly, helping the community. Key Club' s motto of "Caring... our way of life" motivated me to join the life changing club back in my freshman year. After getting more involved in the club during my sophomore year, I ran for and was elected Club Treasurer for the 2017-2018 school year. The great service projects my club completed during those two years inspired me to run for Lieutenant Governor. Just the idea of creating larger service projects to benefit even more people caused me to seek an increased role in this great organization. Since joining Key Club, the idea of helping others has grown very close to my heart. I had no idea what an impact Key Club would have on my life. I can personally tell you that Key Club has allowed me to not only apply my skills to help others, but has also allowed me to encourage many others to get involved in many beneficial service projects. Outside of Key Club, I serve as Student Council Junior Class President and captain on my school’s varsity soccer team. I am involved in my school's Stock Market Club, Drama Club, and Saint Joseph Club, w here I am able to volunteer even more in my school. My experience in service has not been limited to Key Club. For the past five years, I have volunteered at a local summer camp for several weeks during my summer vacation. I have been a peer tutor to a wide variety of students throughout my high school career. I have also volunteered at my local food pantry numerous times. I have many goals I intend to achieve with Division 18. They are as follows: Train all officers before Fall Rally Visit all clubs in the division 100% dues submitted by Early Bird Deadline, November 1 Hold at least seven Divisional Council Meetings with every club attending at least one Charter at least one new Kiwanis Family club Communicate often with club officers Strengthen relations within Division 18 Increase divisional attendance to divisional events, DCON, and district events Organize divisional events to increase club bonding and service Attend at least one local Kiwanis Club meeting Receive the Robert F. Lucas Outstanding Lieutenant Governor Award Have a fun service year! After hearing so many great service projects past Lieutenant Governors have completed, I have been inspired to try my best at filling in their large shoes. I hope through my dedication and your commitment, we are able to have a wonderful service year. Know that I am not only your Lieutenant Governor, but also a friend and are source. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me! I cannot wait to meet all of you and work together to help our district and better our community!

Camp Mason Camp Mason brought the 201819 board together through team bonding and leadership exercises.

It also brought some to new heights that they didn't expect to go.

Cappello needed a nap after a short hike from zipline

The tiredness will wear off and the planned service year will begin soon!

GLOW IN THE DARK VOLLEYBALL

THE RUNDOWN "Glow in the Dark Volleyball this year raised money for Tomorrow's Children's Fund, including tickets and concessions. Pizzas at concessions were donated by Angelo's, Parkside Pizzeria, and Zi Zia's and the BHS Key Club extends our thanks to them once again. A special thanks to our scorekeepers and line judge volunteers. Fourteen teams competed this year in a battle for first place... and the pizza prize. By the end of the night, the competition was between We Hate Kids, the teacher team, and Spike Tyson, a team of students. Spike Tyson prevailed however, coming out on top and becoming this year's champions. Congrats to all who participated and be ready for comebacks in 2019!
