Dear Key Clubbers,

The past few months have been filled with not only service projects and events, but also preparation for DCON which was March 29-30th. While at DCON, BHS Key Club won multiple awards and some of our seniors received scholarships for their dedication to the club. Next year, many more of our board will be seniors applying for those scholarships while making the best of the entries into the contests. We also held our annual Glow-in-the-Dark Volleyball and donated the proceeds to the Food Bank of New Jersey. The winning team became the champs for the second year in a row. Come to the event in 2020 to try to spike them down and raise funds for charity. Stay up to date with the social media to know about our upcoming events and fundraisers like bake sales and Panera Bread giving back 20% of sales on May 10th. Yours in caring and service, Jamianne Kelly Bulletin Editor

Dear Key Clubbers, April has a been such a great way to start off the service year after DCON. On April 8th to April 9th our new club board went to YMCA’s Camp Mason. Here we got to do many fun bonding activities to really get to know one another better. We also took some time at Camp Mason to plan for our brand new service year. We have many great events planned and hope to see you at them! Then on April 12th we held our annual Glow-InThe-Dark Volleyball Tournament. It was $30 per a team of 6 people and $3 to watch. We had plenty of black lights lining our gym with neon tape and everyone wearing white or neon clothes. It was tons of fun and the best part was that all proceeds were donated to March Of Dimes! We are so excited to see what the rest of this year brings our club!

Yours in caring and service, Jules Cianciotta and Sienna Tyransky Co-Presidents

DIVISION 18

Letter of Introduction By Glory Kalu My name is Glory Kalu and I am honored to introduce myself to you as the new Lieutenant Governor for the 2019-2020 service year. I am currently a sophomore at Bloomfield High School and served as my club’s Membership Director for the 2018-2019 service year. I have been a part of the organization since K-Kids when I would wake up early in the morning to open the doors for my fellow classmates. This felt remarkably rewarding, so my experience in K-Kids inspired me to join my middle school’s builders club and then my high school’s Key Club. I started out like most by becoming a general member, and towards the end of that service year, I decided to run for a position on the executive board. I was fortunate enough to be given the position and felt as though I was really shifting into a big role in the “Key Club world.” Although I had only intended on achieving, at most, Club President, after obtaining my position on my club's extended board last year, I attended DCON. The event was life-changing and led me to broaden my service goals and eventually run for LTG. Now, I have achieved this dream and cannot wait to work with your clubs in order to better this division. Aside from Key Club, I am also an active member of Mock Trial, Theater, and play for my school’s volleyball team. I am also interested in the medical field and plan on picking up hospital volunteering very soon. Outside of these activities and Key Club, you can find me watching any genre movie, cooking, and occasionally drawing. Even though these activities have very little in common, they have all taught me about doing things that you love and time management. Key Club has basically become a second family to me, so I want to put my all into it. Once I start my term there are definite ideas I want to try out to help our division grow even more. I hope that you will join me in this noble cause. I would love to: Increase membership attendance in clubs and at events. Through my own experience with my club, I have noticed that membership attendance at meetings tend to decrease as the year nears its end. In addition, I believe our district events are not attended enough because they are not reaching enough Key Clubbers, so it is my goal to increase attendance at events, such as DCON, through the constant promotion of the event.

★Introduce new fundraising ideas to cut costs of

trips and contribute to the District Project. I feel as though the number one reason why people tend to not come to our district events is because of cost. This year I want to find different ways to cut because of these trips so more people are encouraged to go. My experience a district events like Key Leader and DCON have been nearly life changing,so I would like for everybody to be able to experience it. To do this, I will introduce new fundraising ideas and promote each club to fund raise them self in order to cut the funds for these trips. Complete a multi-divisional office training. I would love to host a multi divisional office training event so not only my officers are trained but also other divisions officers are trained. I believe this will be a good experience for this division so that we become more familiar with members of clubs that are not in our division but around us. In addition this becomes more effective and I am able to get all of your training out of the way in one day. Help members of clubs better understand the connection between the club and district level. I feel as though the extent of our general members understanding of the district and international board is minimal. One of my goals this year is to increase members knowledge of the district board so that people may become interested in possibly running for district positions next year. After having to run for lieutenant governor unopposed i became aware of the fact that not many people are familiar with what the district board is and what we do. Maintain a good communication system with clubs. In order to have a smooth year I must maintain a good connection with all of my clubs. I personally do not have a preferred form of communication, but if any of you do you can just let me know and I will try my best to use that when communicating with you. My goal for this year is to at least have one monthly conference call with my clubs this year. Additionally, I would like to visit all of my clubs at least twice this year. Increase attendance at Divisional meetings and District events. Besides divisional meetings and district events being fun it is the best way for myself to communicate information directly to you. I want to reach an attendance of 5 clubs this year at each attendance. I am always here to answer questions that you may have, whenever they arise. It does not even have to be Key Club related! As LTG, I am here to help you and accomplish growth in your clubs and the division as a whole. Again, if you have any questions contact me at my email, and if you prefer a different form of communication just let me know. I cannot wait for this service year and hope to see all of you soon.
