IT’S A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU!

At Blue, our culture is unique and special. It describes what we care about, the things we are willing to invest in, and the rules that define us as a team. Our culture is the foundation of our success. We can’t wait to tell you more about who we are, how we operate, and what matters most here. This document is about that culture and how we can continuously improve as a team to better serve our members and each other.

WHERE WE CAME FROM

A LOOK INTO OUR PAST

The name ‘Blue’ reflects Air Force roots (Air Force Blue) and a deep connection to the spectacular Rocky Mountain Front Range, open skies, waters, as well as promoting the idea that the sky is the limit when you become a member of Blue Federal Credit Union.

OVER 70 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE

Blue was founded in Cheyenne in 1951 and now proudly calls Wyoming and Colorado home. Celebrating over 70 years of being a lifelong champion for its members, Blue Federal Credit Union was originally chartered in as Warren Federal Credit Union by a group of civilian personnel at F.E. Warren Air Force Base. The organization grew and inspired members over the next 65 years until the opportunity came to merge with a successful Colorado-based credit union with nearly 50 years of history and growth, Community Financial Credit Union. In 2015 the two credit unions came together to become Blue, an organization that empowers its members and employees to tap into the potential of their money, life, and community.

MILESTONES ALONG THE WAY

As a creator of authentic connections, Blue experienced rapid growth, with members joining throughout Colorado, Wyoming, and the world. In 2019 another opportunity for growth occurred when two branches, formerly Liberty Savings Bank, were acquired. In 2021, Blue officially moved into its brand-new World Headquarters building in the heart of Cheyenne. The building represents a culmination of 70 years of growth while also looking forward to and expecting that growth to continue for decades.

Our team consists of diverse and unique individuals. We are bringing new ideas, talents, and approaches to how we deliver on our dayto-day promises to each other and our members. However, we found a few traits we all share and live every day.

As a growing team, we also realize the importance of meaningful and purposeful growth. We’re constantly looking at the stars, and they inspire us to continue building a world-class credit union for ourselves and others.

We dedicate ourselves to seeing our members thrive, and our people make that happen. We first see people as humans with complex thoughts, feelings, stories, and dreams. It’s our privilege to serve each unique person. At the same time, we have to ensure we understand their needs and goals and partner with them to achieve success.

LET’S JUST SAY THAT WE’RE A REALLY PASSIONATE GROUP

We want to see our members and employees win. We partner with them as life-long champions through whatever twists and turns life might throw their way and through the valleys and mountains of achieving dreams.

Our deepest satisfaction comes from seeing the joy on the faces of our members and employees when they purchase that first home, send a child to college as a first-generation student, or pay off credit card debt. We don’t stop serving at the individual level or in our communities.
