PERFORMING ARTS Partnership with Debut Academy of Performing Arts Stockport College work in partnership with Debut Academy of Performing Arts, offering the highest standard of training and the widest selection of dance and theatre classes in Stockport to put learners a step ahead of the rest. Students embark on an exciting vocational course, graduating with academic qualifications and high quality dance training equipping them with the skills to embark onto stage schools across the country or straight into the performing arts industry. We offer the BTEC L3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance) and the BTEC L3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Acting). We ensure learners are pushed to the best of their abilities in a safe, qualified and exciting setting resulting in learners appearing in professional ballets, west-end shows and more.

ADMISSIONS PROCESS: Download and complete the application form found on our website and return to: info@debut-academy.co.uk or by post Debut Academy of Performing Arts, Wood Street, Stockport, SK3 0AB. Applicants will then be invited to an informal interview at Debut followed by an open day at the studios for all applicants, during which, applicants will take part in classes and workshops where assessments will be made on their suitability for their chosen course. Successful applicants will then receive an official offer by email following this open day.

YOUR STUDY PROGRAMME Your study programme will be based on your needs and interests as an individual. You will have access to a range of additional learning opportunities alongside your main qualification, guaranteeing you success and progression. English and Maths It is vital that all students achieve a minimum level of English and maths to ensure success and progression. English and maths form part of our Study Programme for any full time students who have not achieved a grade 4 or above at GCSE previously. By reviewing your current skill level through prior attainment and diagnostic assessment, we decide on the most appropriate form of English and maths course for you. This could be either retaking your GCSE or Functional Skills at the relevant level.

WORK EXPERIENCE & EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS COURSE TUTORS You will have regular one-to-one meetings with your Course Tutors to review your progress. Your tutor will help you to agree targets on a regular basis to enable you to reach your full potential and to support you with any additional support requirements you may have. Included in your Study Programme are Professional Development sessions, which will provide you with excellent opportunities to learn about: > Employability skills > Study skills > Personal and social development > Improving your learning Industry Placements

CAREERS EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE Our Careers Advice Team can help you whether you know the career path you want to take or not. They’ll listen to what you have to say, help you work out where you want to be and give you support and advice on how to get there. ENTRY CRITERIA We offer a wide range of courses from Entry Level through to University Level, meaning no matter what grades you achieve at GCSE there is a course available for you at an appropriate level. We are committed to ensuring that no matter what your qualifications, you can still progress and achieve your career goals at Stockport College.
