Tuition Fee Remission 2010/2011 or Skills Funding Agency funded courses You may be entitled to tuition fee remission for Skills Funding Agency funded courses if you are receiving income based benefits and fall into one of the following categories: Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) Official bank statement dated within a month prior to enrolment or letter from Job Centre Plus confirming you are the named recipient of JSA Income based. Employment Support Allowance (ESA) Letter from Job Centre Plus dated within a month prior to enrolment confirming you are the named recipient of Income Related ESA. Contribution based ESA cannot be used for fee remission purposes. Income Support Official bank statement dated within a month prior to enrolment or letter dated no earlier than April 2010 from Job Centre Plus confirming you are the named recipient of Income Support. Working Tax Credit Working Tax Credit Award notice 2010/2011 (form TC602). You will be eligible for tuition fee remission if your household income stated on the award notice is less than £15,276 for the tax year 2009/10. Housing/Council Tax Benefit Letter/Award notice dated no earlier than April 2010. Or an official bank statement dated within
a month prior to enrolment confirming you are the named recipient of Housing/Council Tax benefit. Pension Credits (Guarantee Credit) Letter/Award notice dated within 3 months prior to enrolment confirming you are the named recipient of Pension Credit – Guarantee Credit. Any other forms of Pension Credit cannot be used for fee remission purposes. Unwaged dependants Unwaged dependants of the above as defined by Job Centre Plus. Evidence required as above naming the dependant being supported. Payment of fees All payable fees must be paid at enrolment. We accept payment by Credit/Debit cards, cash or cheque. Instalment arrangements are available where the fees payable are in excess of £150 and the course duration is 12 weeks or more. To pay by instalments you need to make an initial payment at enrolment and set up a direct debit for the further instalment(s). To do this you will need to bring a bank statement with you to enrolment for an account from which direct debits can be taken. We only require the statement to verify your address and account details. We do not require a copy. If you do not bring your bank statement when you come to enrol, payment by instalment will not be available. A £25 penalty fee is payable to the College where direct debit(s) are unduly cancelled.
EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS This programme is designed to develop a broad range of essential skills needed in today’s working environment. The content includes job search techniques, personal preparation for employment and improvement in skills required for work. Qualification Achieved: NCFE Certificate in Employability Skills Level 2 Progression Opportunities: Employment / Apprenticeship Duration: 8 weeks, part time 2 days a week (9am - 4pm) Courses starting throughout April, June and July Contact : 0121
