Finance & Fees Learn new skills - change your career Having the right skills for employment is more important now than ever before. Our programmes focus on the skills required by local employers and you will gain qualifications which meet their needs.

Fees New Government funding to help adult learners Adult learners may get their tuition fees fully funded on Government supported courses if they are actively looking for employment or are in receipt of benefits.

Learners who are in receipt of benefits, and/or unemployed, wishing to access free training will be encouraged to enrol onto courses that directly link to employers’ needs and skills gaps in the region. Payment of fees Students who are unable to qualify for fee remission will be required to pay fees at enrolment. We accept payment by credit/debit cards or cash. Instalment arrangements are available where the fees payable are in excess of £150 and the course duration is 12 weeks or more. To pay by instalments you need to make an initial payment at enrolment and set up a direct debit for the further instalment(s). To do this you will need to bring with you to enrolment a bank

statement for an account from which direct debits can be taken. We only require the statement to verify your address and account details. We do not require a copy. If you do not bring your bank statement when you come to enrol, payment by instalment will not be available. A £25 penalty fee is payable to the College where direct debit(s) are unduly cancelled. Instalments will be based on the following schedule Course duration

What entry qualifications are required? Although A Levels and other academic qualifications are frequently a route into higher education, they are not the only way to further your studies. Work-related qualifications and work experience can also provide a good route into higher education.

We offer over 35 Higher Education programmes from Higher National Certificates and Diplomas, Foundation Degrees in Arts, Science and Engineering through to BSc Honours Degrees and Postgraduate qualifications.

Foundation Degrees Foundation degrees have been developed in conjunction with employers to ensure the skills they require are met through the programme of study. Highly practical, these qualifications increase your career opportunities and earning potential.

Most of the provision is offered in collaboration with local universities. Students will have access to support within the College and where a course is run in partnership, they will be enrolled as students of the partner university. Most of our HNDs, HNCs, and Foundation Degrees have progression into higher level programmes, many into the final stage of an Honours Degree programme. Many of our programmes are vocationally related and provide an ideal opportunity to study whilst at the same time developing or changing career. These qualifications are awarded by a number of universities including: • Aston University • Birmingham City University • Coventry University • Manchester Metropolitan University • Staffordshire University • University of Worcester • University of Wolverhampton

• Counselling Studies (part-time) • Dental Technology (part-time) • Early Years (part-time) • Education (Teaching Assistants) (part-time) • Education and Business Management (part-time) • Electronic and Control Engineering (full-time, delivered on a one day per week basis) • Health and Social Care (part-time) • ICT (full-time and part-time) • Manufacturing Engineering (full-time, delivered on a one day per week basis) • Pharmaceutical Technology (part-time) • Sport and Exercise Science (full-time) Honours Degrees • BSc (Hons) Financial Services (flexible delivery) • BSc (Hons) Podiatry (full-time) Higher National Certificates or Diplomas (HNCs or HNDs) These programmes are work-related (vocational) higher education qualifications. While bachelors degrees tend to focus on gaining knowledge, HNCs and HNDs are designed to give you the skills to put that knowledge to effective use in a particular job.

Lorraine Sparks Foundation Diploma in Early Years

Lorraine always wanted to become a teacher. However, she left school at 16 moving from one job to another but never lost the desire to become a teacher. She went on, as an adult learner, to study for her GCES’s, Teaching Assistants course and a Foundation Degree in Early Years and was chosen, as one of only 20 students from 1,000 applicants, to study for a joint BA Hons/PGCE course at Worcester University.
