Fees Learn new skills - change your career New Government funding to help adult learners Adult learners may get their tuition fees fully funded on Government supported courses. Learners who are in receipt of benefits and are unemployed, wishing to access free training will be encouraged to enrol onto courses that directly link to employers’ needs and skills gaps in the region. Payment of fees Students who are unable to qualify for fee remission will be required to pay fees at enrolment. We accept payment by credit/debit cards or cash. Instalment arrangements are available where the fees payable are in excess of £150 and the course duration is 12 weeks or more. To pay by instalments you need to

make an initial payment at enrolment and set up a direct debit for the further instalment(s). To do this you will need to bring with you to enrolment a bank statement for an account from which direct debits can be taken. We only require the statement to verify your address and account details. We do not require a copy.
Examination and awarding body fees Examination and awarding body fees must be paid at enrolment. However, if you receive benefits you may be able to apply to the Learner Support Fund to have the fees paid or reimbursed. Please ask at enrolment for details.
If you do not bring your bank statement when you come to enrol, payment by instalment will not be available. A £25 penalty fee is payable to the College where direct debit(s) are unduly cancelled.
Employer funding If your employer is sponsoring you for your course, please bring a letter confirming this, which has been signed by your employer on their letter headed paper, asking the College to invoice them (or a company cheque for the full amount).

Donald McCarther
Donald gained employment as a cleaner at Birmingham’s Mailbox after completing numerous qualifications in vocational cleaning. “Although I had already worked as a cleaner before, I was amazed at how much I still needed to learn about cleaning,” he said. “Amongst other things we learnt buffing, suction cleaning, dry cleaning, health and safety and lifting skills. I would highly recommend my courses to other unemployed people. It could change your life for the better – it has for me.”
