Objectives: This study was conducted to determine the effect of powdered ginger on chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (adjuvant antracycline) in women with breast cancer.
Methods: Permission was obtained from the institution and the ethics committee before initiating the research. The patients diagnosed with breast cancer were treated by doxorubicin- Cyclophosphamide based treatment included to study. The research sample consisted of 60 patients in total, with 30 control patients and 30 patients as the study group, who met the research criteria and volunteered to participate in the study. All of the patients were given the standard antiemetic drugs. The patients at study group were also given oral ginger fort he first 3 days of chemotherapy. No intervention was performed in the control group except for the routine antiemetic treatment.
