Calves must be weaned for 45+ days. Graders will have the discretion to reject calves that show high stress levels as they enter the barn, whether that be from heat, hair, or attitude. Benefits of Selling!
BQA Program
• Calves are weighed and graded almost immediately after they are unloaded. The average wait time is less than one hour. • Calves are grouped into pens according to sex, weight, and grade to create uniform groups. Many times these groups are able to be combined into truckload lots. This helps the cattle bring a higher price. • Sale averages (as compared to averages from salebarn reports during the same week) are historically $10-15/cwt higher for the BQA sales and $5-10/cwt higher for the regular feeder calf sales.
Consignments are highly encouraged, even on the day of the sale. This allows us to communicate with buyers to help them organize trucking and cattle placements. Consignments may be made by calling Anson County Ag. Agent Jessica Morgan at 704-694-2415. You may also call the barn or Marcus Harward. Please call the barn for consignments the day of the sale.
